Best authentic Neapolitan pizza in Edinburgh is at Pizzeria 1926 on Dalry Road a few minutes walk from Haymarket railway station. It is one of the only establishments in UK that is certified with the "Vera Pizza Napoletana" recognition. We tried the Zielinski and the Ostigard and having recently tried a number of pizzas in Napoli, Italy, these were equally as exquisite. Gennaro, the head pizza chef, knows his stuff. The dough is fluffy with just the right level of yeast fermentation. The ingredients are all DOP and the wood fired oven runs at the right temperature. The resulting pizzas just melts in your mouth. The staff is friendly and quick to serve, and the restaurant represents the Neapolitan following for the Napoli football team. Highly recommended.

There were about 20 of us turned up here for pizza and they were very accommodating. All the staff were lovely and friendly and the starters and Pizza were delicious. We didn't have to wait long and we could even buy alcohol here so an even better meal. If you are ever close by, definitely pop in. Lovely little place 💙

Excellent pizza place! We had two different ones to share and they were incredibly delicious, albeit a little too filling. I *think* the dough is a tiny bit thicker than it might be in Naples (am not sure), because we were both ultra full at the end (but it might also be us getting older, so uncertain). Definitely would have had two more pizzas if we had the room :) Go here, you won't be disappointed whatsoever.

Fantastic wood fired pizza! I could taste the high quality ingredients in every bite. I was in Italy two years ago, and the pizza here was better than any I had on that trip.

Incredibly friendly and attentive staff - I could not fault the service. The pizzas were delicious and the quality of the ingredients was noticeable. I was spoilt for choice and was recommended a pizza with mortadela, pistachios and a ricotta stuffed crust. This is not what I would usually go for, but it was outstanding! A great choice indeed.

Such good pizza. Like, better than most places we tried in Italy last summer good. Not many options for our son with food allergies but he had some chips and they were really good. The service was a bit lacking. The girls were nice just inattentive. They were more interested in chatting to each other. The restaurant is quite large compared to most we found in the city, as well as bright and airy. We still can’t figure out why Europe doesn’t cut their pizza or order pizza cutters. lol This place could sharpen their table knives for sure. We basically ended up ripping our pizzas apart.

A personal favourite of mine. My partner and I celebrated our engagement here (where we had our first date) and it was perfect. The pizzas are inventive and delicious. Real Napolitano style and they’ve leant into the theme with the decor.

Really lovely place with an amazing pizza. They squeezed us in even without a reservation. There were many Italians dining, which is always a guarantee!

If not the best, most definitely on top 3 pizza places in Edinburgh. I am not the first to say this, but worth to repeat it, as the people there are doing an amazing job to bring the experience on an authentic neapolitan pizza in the city. Following traditional techniques for pizza preparation and using a proper build up pizza oven makes the pizza in this place amazing!! Highly recommended and for sure try to make a reservation as may be challenging to find for walk-ins. note: in Jan 2023 the business was sold to a new owner. the expectation are that they will continue on the same high standards, but time will tell

Excellent pizza, fresh ingredients and very good dough. Made me feel in Italy. Nice environment. Service was outstanding. Need to book a table in advance if you want no surprises. Thanks for the amaretto shots, were great. Greetings from Brazil.
