I remember when this place was barely a shack on the way to South Beach. Now, it's been immensely upgraded and offers everything from souvenirs and gifts to food...even sushi! But by far the best reason to stop is their lobster roll, which is the best I've ever enjoyed...tons of lobster on a brioche bun. A bargain at $32 (the price can vary).

This place is quite unique on the island. It is a community hub. The service is offered by REAL. And CARING people. Food made with TLC delicious and worth every penny. This place is not to be missed and often visited by either first timers or island residents and all in between.

The best burger and lobster roll we’ve had on MV. My toddler (who my wife fears is vegetarian) couldn’t get enough of the burger. The double pattie smash burger is well cooked and the toasted potato bun is perfect. While they’re not giving away the lobster roll, they are generous with the meat and the bun is nice and crispy. Two members of the family said it was their favorite lobster roll ever, one said it was his second favorite.

The Katama General Store has a great selection of snacks and lunches for the beach, but above all has great customer service. A group of 6 of us ordered sandwiches to go (to take to the beach) and when we got to the beach saw that one of the sandwiches was totally burned. After we were done with the beach we stopped back by and the managers (owners?) were extremely apologetic and immediately and without question refunded my money (and threw in a dessert to boot!). I would not hesitate to go again. Bravo for the excellent customer service. Also, the Cuban sandwich was amazing!

Karama General Store sells peaches at $12.99/lbs. Yeah, not cheap. That said, they're tasty and worth it.

Don't judge this "general store" from the outside or you will miss a jewel of Edgartown. We live the food, casual vibe and champagne.

I remember what this place used to be and now it's amazing. It is the perfect place to stop on your way to South Beach. They have everything you could need for the beach and more. I especially like the wrap around porch where you can sit with a cup of iced tea her coffee and enjoy the Katama ambiance. They even have plenty of comfortable parking for cars were bicycles. What could be better?

I finally got the pizza I have been meaning to try. It did not disappoint. It’s a ten inch pan pizza which means the crust is on the thicker side but very fresh tasting dough with some kind of cheese that baked into the top of the crust. Not overwhelming at all , just a slight flavor that adds to it. You can opt for one of their specialty pizzas or do a build your own. I built my own which consisted of sausage, red peppers and roasted garlic. The toppings were the perfect amount and I liked how the red peppers were grilled(I think?). I would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Was recommended by a local to check this place out while visiting on a work trip and was not disappointed! They have the best coffee and baked goods! Especially the crumb cakes, ended up stopping here a few times on my trip because I couldn't get enough! Lots of cute and unique items and great for on the go snacks! Missing this place now that I'm back home!

Just got the Mediterranean bowl for breakfast. I’m sure it’s one of the best I’ve had in quite some time. Pepper-y (and super fresh) greens, perfectly fried eggs, herbed yogurt and salsa — the perfect mix of all the things. I love a good bagel and schmear like most folks, but this was 👌🏼👌🏼 👌🏼 and super healthy!

Love the new construction! This place has some easy grabs if you live in Katama so you don’t have to drive into Edgartown. Grabbing milk in the morning or a chilled bottle of wine in the evening makes this stop one of my favorites. Lobster roll is $24! Their is now plenty of parking and the outside area is comfortable with some very beautiful flower boxes.

Anyone who visits Martha's Vineyard MUST stop here! They have the best, freshest scones on the island. Their Zucchini Bread is to die for! Also, Jackie (store owner) is the best! They treat you like family and it's just a wonderful atmosphere. Don't forget to pick up some fresh strawberries grown my Jackie herself!

Nice, cutie place with drinks, beach ware, and a deli counter. Breakfast was 7-11 on a Saturday, we got there at 11:10 and there were no sandwiches yet, so we grabbed good from the coolers to make our own.

Open seasonally, the Katama General Store is a deli, a sushi bar, and it has a selection of beer and wine, frozen foods and general food items. It is conveniently located on the way to South Beach.
