What a gem. Happened upon this inn. Stayed for 2 nights. Innkeeper Cynthia and I think Carole was the other gals name, made us feel at home. Breakfasts were delicious but the dinner was quite an experience. Glad we were able to get a spot when we checked in. If you are able to make it up there this year, I recommend staying here.
We stayed here for our visit to Machias Seal Island. It is a nice place and hosts, Nigel and Pamela, were outstanding. Not only they accommodate our request of late check In but also were very generous to offer us early breakfast and late dinner to meet our schedule. Rooms are clean, spacious and very well kept. Patio facing river is very nice and if you are lucky, you might see a bald eagle perched. Would highly recommend the place.
The innkeeper here is phenomenal. We were leaving on a hike early morning, and she packed our breakfast to enjoy on the way there. It consisted of fresh baked cookies, breakfast flatbread with quail eggs, fresh fruit, and protein bars for the hike. The next morning she made waffles with wild blueberries. Very historical house (prepare for shower being a bit weird if you’re staying the night) with a beautiful river view. Bring your bike to enjoy the scenic greenway.
