My wife loved the Iron Skillet.
I had the biscuits and gravy, so good. The biscuit was huge and the gravy plentiful. Our waitress was fun and helpful. That homemade cinnamon toast was delicious. Most definitely, we will stop by any time we're in the area.
This little diner serves freshly baked bread! And the cinnamon rolls were AMAZING and really big! I had to eat mine in shifts lol
Excellent Breakfast!
Great food, good service, good value.
It was a busy Saturday, and there was a line out the door with a 20 minute wait for a table of five.
Our first time here we had the biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, portabelo and Swiss omelette, and a pancake with bananas and chocolate chips.
The biscuits and gravy full order covered the whole large plate. The gravy was very good and the biscuits were just right, homemade I believe. The omelette was just ok nothing special. But the cinnamon roll… it was huge and delicious! That alone is worth the wait. The pancake was also the size of the plate and it was thick and fluffy. I took half a biscuit and gravy home for leftovers as well as half my corned beef hash, which was a large portion for a side order and worth the price.
Server was friendly but busy not very attentive.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.
Amazing little spot. Had our wedding in nearby in Ellsworth and took our wedding party and some family to eat here the morning after. Even with around 12 people eating, the staff was fast and courteous. And the food was outstanding! Such amazing food for cheap prices! The John Deere omelet with their hommade toast was amazing 👏
Came in Sunday morning to a very crowded restaurant but luckily there was one table for us.
The menu is pretty extensive and I love the fact you can order one piece of french toast, which I did.
The french toast I ordered with the homemade bread. You can definitely tell it's homemade bread, yeasty and thick. I would have preferred the bread be soaked a bit longer in the egg but it was very good.
Hubby ordered the sunrise burger and the egg was wonderful. The burger had a delicious taste as well. The potatoes were ordered crispy and they came crispy.
My sister ordered the skillet and that too was delicious.
Everything came out hot.
As I mentioned they were pretty busy so our waitress did a good job of checking on us.
We walked here so not sure about parking and for the three of us we spent $40 (without tip).
Good place to grab some breakfast!
Found this place on our way back from the skybridge to our rental condo. Food was good. We took cinnamon rolls back for our breakfast the next day. They were still soft and so delicious! Well worth the money! Friendly staff. Great small town atmosphere for our lunch.
Our family visited this fantastic cafe twice. Service was phenomenal and the food oh so delicious. Omlettes, skillets, French toast, biscuits and gravy were all enjoyed. Their Cinnamon toast they offer as a toast option was so thick and rich. If we are ever in the area again we will make The South Arm Cafe a stop along our journey.
Super good food with the largest pancakes I’ve ever eaten. Staff is kind, place is clean, and the area is great. Only complaint was the service was super slow, but this was Labor Day and they were the only breakfast place open in a 10mikes radius
What a great restaurant!
Food is delicious, it's amazing how many people Jessica can get in and out, take their order, make coffee, ring up checks, all with a smile and with no mistakes!
If you come on Saturday, come early it's packed!
Hometown café with good food and friendly staff. We were visiting the area and it seemed this was a place for the locals to come in and enjoy breakfast. I got the sausage omelet with a biscuit and my husband got the Basics ( 2 eggs, American fries, bacon, and toast) . I also ordered a homemade cinnamon roll to go :) My omelet was a little tasteless and rubbery but the filling of American fries, sausage, cheese and onions were really good! My husband enjoyed his meal as well. So glad we stopped in for breakfast and got a taste of East Jordan :)
I'm from four hours down state and come here every single time I'm in the area. Amazing diner experience, delicious food, good prices. One of my favorite places to eat. The homemade bread is legit.
INCREDIBLE! Best breakfast I've had at a mom and pop shop in a LONG time! Portions are AMAZING! Everything is scratch-made and it shows!!! I highly recommend the iron skillet. The cinnamon toast is a winner. Stop by if you're heading to Boyne City or Charlevoix. You won't be disappointed!
Absolutely loved this place!!! Best food on our entire vacation. Even went back to have more a second time!!! Clean, great service, great food. 5☆
Probably the best place for breakfast around. Food is always great!
We showed up 10 minutes before closing with a family of five. I am not one to do that so I turned us around and said thanks anyway... see you next time. They insisted we sit down and eat. The food was great (we all ordered breakfast). They stayed late to serve us and that really stood out to me.
It's not the same as it it used to be. The food is pretty good. Just seemed better with old owners. Still good food for the price. Wish they were open later.
Excellent food and service. We had Grilled Chicken Sandwiches and Onion Rings / Fries. Onion rings were top notch. Took homemade cinnamon rolls to go.
It was some of the best Tasting steak I've had in a while .."of course besides my own specialty steak..The people were local and Friendly as well..I had the steak ,eggs over easy, and fried potatoes. And there Homemade wheat bread toasted, Oh can't forget that Delicious glazed Cinnamon Roll..Homemade ! All was finger licking delicious!
