Family and I have been in this location multiple times and we’ve always been satisfied with the food. our go-to app is their Roti Canai which has been consistently good after all these years. Dipping that dough in curry sauce definitely works the appetite. For our entrees we love sharing their thai mango chicken and seafood panfried noodle. And from time to time we try other things on the menu just to see if we’ll find a new favorite. Other good ones are their honey squid, golden ribs, satay, salted fish fried rice and whole sea bass. Even the desserts are good including their sticky rice and fried ice cream. and dont forget their thai bubble milk tea! it has always been a good experience here and we’re glad we have a place to go back to that the whole family enjoys!

You can't go wrong with Penang. Because I miss the one in Boston, this is the closest one to me here in NJ. My favorite is the Golden Squid (which reminds me of my good old college days), and my kids enjoyed the pineapple fried rice and pad thai.

Good food with great taste and service. Wall paper was peeling at our seat. But still well worth the trip.

Was back here yesterday with my hubby and 2 older friends. (our food buddy’s) This restaurant doesn’t disappoints your cravings for Asian foods. My family and friends have been going to this restaurant since I can remember. Food is delicious, like a home cooked food and the service is fast and the waiters/ waitresses are all very friendly. I am not a fan of curry, but I can eat their Roti Canai for starter’s. 😋😋😋 Forgot to take a photo coz just eager to start eating. 🤣🫢

We came here for a large family-style dinner and not only was the food delicious, but the service was top notch as well. We all enjoyed our meal, even those unfamiliar with South(east) Asian cuisines. There's also a large surface parking lot easily accessible for some mobility impaired folks. I would definitely come to Penang again!

Came here around 11:30 while my tires were being installed at Costco for lunch with my girlfriend. She had the iced Malaysian lychee drink with pad Thai noodles and chicken & I had the basil rice with chicken with Malaysian iced coffee. The coffee was soooo good!! The staff was attentive & helpful when ordering and had great suggestions. I usually have their pad Thai fried rice but today I wanted to try something new. The staff suggested basil fried rice with chicken, it was very tasty. Now onto dessert lastly my girlfriend ordered mango rice and we shared it. My taste buds were so happy!! I loved the texture of the rice and the mango well put together. Always great ordering from here whether it's to go or sitting in love the food and experience.

Gloriously prepared, delicious, fresh, perfectly spiced, wonderfully presented. Treated like a special guest by a very caring and friendly staff. We ordered many different dishes and couldn't decide what we liked best... One better than the other. Generous portions meant we had much more to take home. Mango salad, achat, steamed whole fish, Kari sayur was really flavorful and fragrant. We started with the Thai lettuce wraps with peanut sauce and substituted tofu for the chicken... So good. Even the hot tea was memorable. Please make sure that Penang stays busy... A real gem of a restaurant. Thanks for your hospitality Penang!!!

Certain foods, like noodles, hearty greens such as cabbage, and lentils, symbolize good fortune in the new year. After downing some bubbly and sweet treats on New Year's Eve, my partner, our friends and I started 2023 off right with some New Year's good-luck foods promising wealth, prosperity and good fortune. In many Asian countries, people eat long noodles on New Year's Day to lengthen their life which we decided to come to our friend’s establishment located in East Hanover. Called ahead to Penang Malaysian Thai restaurant making a reservation for an early dinner tonight. We were greeted by the staff and the owner, Hook. When one looks at their menu, it’s a mixture of Malaysian 🇲🇾 and Thai 🇹🇭cuisine. For starters, we decided on our go-to Roti Canei (all-time favorite Malaysian crispy indian style pancake served with curry chicken as dipping sauce, Penang Satay (marinated beef on skewers served with peanut sauce) and the Thai spring rolls (deep fried rolls stuffed with cabbage, bean thread, carrot and shrimp served with plum sauce). For entrees, we got Hokkien Char Mee )thick yellow noodles cooked in heavily a flavored soy sauce with pork, shrimp squid and vegetables, Beef Chow fun (stir fried flat noodles in special sauce with beef, scallion and bean sprouts), Seafood Pan fried noodles (Cantonese Style) consisting of Pan fried noodles in light brown egg sauce topped with seafood and vegetables, Beef with Ginger and Scallion & Malaysian Buddhist Delight consists of mixed vegetables with bean curd skin and chinese mushrooms in a chef's special sauce. All dishes were authentic, tasty and delicious but the beef with ginger could have used a bit more soy sauce. The portions were big for a reasonable price. We continue to recommend this place.

Mouth watering and super tasty dishes, full of spice & sauce. I have been waiting to visit this Penang for months (since it 45 mins away), finally got a chance to stop by for Sunday lunch. As bonus, we got to try the Lunar New Ywar special menu as well. The restaurant is not very big, but decorated beautifully, and really good service. It gets super busy are noon. I started with my favs, roti canai and Tom yum soup. The roti was soft and canai had really good curry. Tom yum had the perfect lemongrass kick and spice with lots of seafood ingredients. We got the Grand Jackpot (crispy shrimp from LNY menu), beef rendang and eggplant basil for entree. The shrimp were huge in Grand Jackpot, though it wasn't to my liking. But I loved rendang and eggplant basil. The beef was so moist paired with amazing paste and curry. The basil complemented the eggplants, mixed with onion & pepper. I was not a fan of Penang, but this visit has totally flipped me. I'll keep looking for excuses to visit this Penang more often.
