Review The Schnitzel Garten - Eagle

Very good German dishes. I lived in Germany for 3 years and I feel this restaurant does a good job of serving authentic style fare. The beers are excellent. The prices are on the high side and you have to wait a little longer for your food, but the food and size of the portions is worth it. You must make reservations or you may not get a table.

Really good Zigeuner/gypsy style Schnitzel. The mashed potatoes I ordered with my meal are probably the best I've had at a restaurant. The Apple Strudel is excellent. Definitely will eat there again.

Fantastic food, fantastic service, very good experience. I had the Jager schnitzel with spaetzle, both were top notch and solid portions. We also ordered one of the pretzels, which was very much not your grocery store pretzel, crispy outside and soft inside with a surprisingly excellent sweet mustard (my friend usually dislikes those types of mustards and was highly impressed). Not the cheapest place to eat German I have been to but the quality makes it worth it.

The staff were friendly. The server said she didn’t know much about gluten-free. She did tell me some items I could have that were gluten free friendly. They have gluten free schnitzel, sausages and sides. They have a variety of drinks many are gluten free. The place was slow when we went due to us choosing mid week visit. They have live music on Friday and Saturday’s there. The patio is nice and is heated. It’s not a covered patio, so lots of fresh air. Note don’t go for patio seating when it’s sprinkling, it’s closed when wet. They have indoor dining as well. They have music mix of traditional German music and pop hits from German bands on in the background inside. I got Gluten Free Schnitzel with the pepper and onion sauce. Side I chose was gluten free warm German potato salad. My husband chose the fest Schnitzel with brown gravy and mashed potatoes. He had a alcohol free German bier. I had sprite. They also bring water to the table. We both had dessert. I had German cheesecake, my husband had traditional Apple strudel. The positive: I saw them sanitize the tables after guests left and they place silverware with napkins in a basket for you. The negative: They don’t wear face masks (not one employee had one on!! Not one diner besides us had one when came in or left!!) and they do not offer seating with 6’ of space between diners, for inside dining or patio. That’s just for those wondering about pandemic precautions it says “masks required” currently in their web site. Overall, food was good, choices or selection for menu nice. Now, for those that want details of pricing: the bill for two people eating dinner and dessert was over $100. We also added a $20 tip for the server being very nice, the food came out fast. Thats a bill without having any of their specialty drinks/alcohol on the bill, as we weren’t having any.

Jägerschnitzel was amazing. First time I enjoyed one that was not made by Dad. The service was great. Thank you for a great dinner that did remind me of home. Frohe Weihnachten 😊

Wow what a great dinner had with some amazing German flavors. Great staff, great food and plenty of room to avoid the funk. Beverages too was spot on with many options. The waitress was a great help providing information that made our dinner out spectacular. Even better will be the leftovers for tomorrow.. Well done!!

First, the parking is interesting here. Have to park in a lot and then walk. No big deal. Not very clear where to go after you park but found it. Make reservations!! Very busy place🤔. Service was great!! Prompt and very friendly. In my opinion.....over priced for the flavor. Portions are huge so bring an appetite. Not like my German mother's cooking. Has good flavor but, not authentic. Two people dining with an appetizer, two drinks each, and dinner was over $145.00 before tip. It's good but not worth the money. Just my opinion. I won't be back.

I'm not very familiar with German food so I can't rate on authenticity; however, we did enjoy our food and beer. The outdoor seating is nice and relaxing. There is a sign on the door stating they are understaffed, but the service was fine. IMO a bit pricy tho.
