Yankee Tavern

'Old world Eagan' haunt, from before the suburbanites descended with their snap-together malls and dime-a-dozen fusion bistro cashcows— A place where actual locals hang out. Fried food, domestic beers, 80s and 90s music, fish & chips. Clean and friendly, with a reasonably sizable deck in the back for outside dining (12 tops, maybe?) The food was par, and not spectacular. I WILL come back to Yankee Tavern for drinks and appetizers and its comfortable atmosphere, (the low-lit cozy lamps in the booths are nice) but not for its unspectacular entrees. 🍻

I had the pleasure of meeting up with some friends at the Yankee Tavern; I didn't even know the place existed, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were wonderful and helpful with the drinks and other needs our table had. The bar tender was a riot; he seemed to enjoy his work, which can not be said for every bar. The establishment had a great vibe. It was an open concept with a good amount if wood and stone in the walls and decor. To me it felt like stepping into an other worldly, cozy bar in a woodland community. I also remember being fascinated with the light fixtures, though I can't recall what they actually looked like. All in all, it was a great time with an amazing environment to match. I recommend making a stop if you are in the area!

First but definitely not the last time we'll check this place out. I've driven by this many times and today we finally decided to give it a shot. Our party of four were all happy with their meals. The complaints concerning the pricing aren't warranted in my opinion. I'm more than happy to pay a bit more for quality food and it was worth it in my opinion. Our waitress was great as well.

About a year and a 1/2 ago we stopped by Yankee tavern for a beer and to discuss a house we were thinking of purchasing about a mile away. Yankee tavern has become our local watering hole and we've introduced it to our friends and family from out of town. We have all had such a great time there and every experience is awesome. The servers are like friends and remember us and our beer choice every time we come in. The menu never gets boring and everyone is so welcoming and sweet. It reminds us of our Wisconsin backwoods bars but with a heck of a lot more elegant! Yankee tavern is family friendly and always plays the best music. I guess what I'm saying is if you are looking for a place to bring your family, a date, just yourself or a huge group of friends you are bound to have an amazing time!

Showed up 35 minutes until 2am. I get it we were late but the Bartender said he will not be able to serve us. We just wanted one and go. He had people come up left and right. I understand he is busy. My partner and I have been in the industry for 8+ years, we understand. But helping people coming in from outside who have been drinking who are drunk vs helping someone who just showed up, for one is not great customer service. We got passed over a few times before he even said that to us. Place wasn’t that busy. He clearly needed help and if he was alone that is not ideal. I get things happen but the way he reacted to new guests is not the greatest. Did not feel like a welcoming place or somewhere I would like to go again.
