I really like Chinese food, and I regularly went to a very good place that is far from where I live, but it was worth the trip. There is a mall very close to my house and every time I passed by this Orient Garden restaurant I ALWAYS saw that it had people. The place at this time only offers take out service. Today when I was starving and not willing to drive so much to go to the other place, I decided to give this one a try. Wow! what a surprise! To start with, the prices are almost the same but with the difference that the quantity of food is greater. Chinese food is usually a bit greasy, but this turned out to be a lot less greasy. As it was not in my plans to go there, I did not order in advance and was afraid that the wait would be long. But not! only 12 min was enough. and another 5 min to drive and enjoy this rich and delicious food!

Very yummy food. Some of it is spicy. Not a problem for me but just throwing it out there. Very friendly service. The Gen. Chicken really is that good. I just wish they still had soup as I am always trying to find the best hot and sour soup on planet earth.

I have been going to Orient Garden for several years, but more recently I've noticed a change in the taste of the food and the appearance. The egg roll has a strange taste, that I can't quite describe, and it's not a pleasant taste, and the roast pork fried rice, which you can't substitute for white rice, has big slices of pork, and what appears to be canned vegetables, and the General Tso chicken did not have any broccoli. I also was put on hold for a long time, when I called in my order. I get the impression that this restaurant is under different management. Sorry but I won't be back.

I've been going to Orient Garden for 20 years, it was my favorite Chinese restaurant. Every new Chinese restaurant I have tried since I first visited here has been measured on a threshold set by Orient Garden.
Sadly something has changed and I do not like it. During my last visit, I found out they were no longer selling soup. No soup?!?!? Their wonton soup was great. The soup along with the housemade duck sauce (they stopped offering it shortly after the start of the pandemic) and crispy noodles made for a very nice start to lunch or dinner. I've never eaten here without soup and now its no longer available. The meal was unbalanced without it.
I ordered sesame chicken and general tsos during this visit. In the past I appreciated that these dishes were crispy but not covered in thick breading. You could taste and see meat. The dishes I recently received were more breading than meat. Some chunks were only breading. I tried to eat it but ended up throwing it away.
There is too much that has changed for me to return anytime soon. Maybe if they bring back soup I'll try it again. Until then I'll go to Shanghai since they were my number 2 Chinese spot in Durham and they still serve lunch and housemade duck sauce.

There are quite a few options for Chinese food but this is the spot for me. General Tso’s chicken is really Good. Large servings. I always get two meals out of a dinner portion. Prices are super reasonable for quality of food.

General Tsos Chicken, extra spicy makes my day! They do such a good job with Chinese food here, it's embarrassing to the other restaurants in the area. It gets busy, so there's frequently a line, but never anything major.

I love this place. This is our family go to chinese food restaurants. The general tso chicken is the best! They ate always fast and fresh! They even make it extra spicey for us when we ask! So amazing! The staff is kind and helpful and always there to make you happy. We treat our family to this place at least once a month and we will always be back!

Great Asian place next to Harris Teeter. Food is great a flavorful and comes in reusable containers. This helps justify the higher prices. You also get a lot of food, easily enough for 2 meals. Staff is polite and professional, quick checkout. Do order ahead of time, this place gets busy, especially in the evenings.

Orange Chicken, Mmmmm.... I'm from "out of town", but I have eaten here about four times. I've had their Orange Chicken with rice, egg drop soup, and I think I tried an egg roll & hot tea. All very good! The restaurant is small. It is located in a higher-end strip mall, just across the Interstate from the "Streets of SouthPoint" (high-end) Mall. Even if I were in Chapel Hill, I think I might try to come here at least once a week.

The people on here that mentioned the hot and sour soup have the right idea. It is totally choice. They took a long time getting my order ready, but once that soup hit my lips, I knew i couldn't stay mad at them.

We have lived in Durham for years and never tried this place until last week. It was great. The combos are a great deal, and the food was very good. Great hot and sour soup and sesame chicken.
