Quality and service is great. The donuts are the best durham. I’ve tried other donut shops in town and they can’t compete with early bird donuts. Love it�� definitely recommend
I was there 6:45ish this morning and was impressed with the turkey sausage and egg biscuit that was crafted for me. It was delicious and huge (more than I should have eaten). The old fashioned donut was flavorful and moist and the plain glaze was probably the best I've eaten in this area so far. Keep making this comfort food with love and you'll always have happy customers.
I looooove Early Bird! The coffee is so, so good and strong (and local), the food is awesome, the space is adorable and creative (a chill place to work or just hang with friends), and the staff (shout out to Sowadi) is incredibly nice!

My wife brought some donuts home from Early Bird donuts. wow are they awesome. We meet the owners the other day and they are awesome people. Go check them out you won't regret it!
Fabulous donuts, customer service and prices. The fill to order really lets you get the unique flavor combo you want. For example I had an Oreo donut filled with raspberry cream. Loved the atmosphere and decor. We will definitely be back.
The place is bright, welcoming and inviting. The selection is different and amazing every day. I have never seen "fillable" donuts where you get to choose the filling and it is filled in front of you! You can see all of the operations, there is a glass partial wall and it's impressive to watch the process. Yummy.

Incredible, fresh, delicious donuts! I've tried lots of flavors on many visits, I have to say the salted caramel is my favorite salted caramel flavored thing I've ever had, yummm! I love how casual and family friendly it is too, they have a stack of small chalkboards and chalk, paper, crayons for little kids, even a chess set and reading material for adults. My 2-year-old loves it as much as my husband and I do! Great coffee too, Joe Van Gogh! Very highly recommend! (I just hope it doesn't start getting too busy, I love the chill atmosphere:) )

Best donuts east of the Mississippi. They don't skimp and use rice flour or fake chocolate like some of the other places.
The donuts are filled to order! FRESH, delicious, cute place with lots of seating! Employees were helpful and knowledgeable!
I've never seen croissants so huge! Donuts and coffee were excellent too. Staff was very kind and welcoming.

Finally tried this place this weekend and so enjoyed! A classic old-school donut shop (reminded me of Daylight Donuts in Raleigh). Went at 8:30 on a Saturday morning and there was a line but it moved very quickly. We got an assorted dozen donuts to take to family and all were a hit. I especially loved the customizing of fillings. Big fan of the Apple fritter - it’s enormous! My husband tried a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and loved it. We always enjoy Monuts and Rise, but Early Bird has a bigger donut selection and slightly better prices - definitely getting added to the regular rotation.
P.S. for all the negative reviews about being sold out of donuts in the afternoon, have you never been to a bakery? Every donut shop or bakery I’ve been to in my entire life - including Rise and Monuts here in Durham - sells out of donuts (or pastries, bread, etc.). If you go an hour or two before close, there are going to be slim pickings. Everything is made fresh that morning and they INTEND to sell out before they close to ensure there’s no waste. Ridiculous to leave a bad review because you came to a bakery at the end of the day and expected a full selection.
Just can't stop thinking about how lucky all of the people in the area are to have a hidden gem like Early Bird Donuts! It's a unique concept, I think, where you get to select your donut and the filling. Everything is fresh, homemade and tastes divine! I just wish I hadn't gone alone so I could have tried more flavor combinations. If I'm ever in this part of NC again, I'll be sure to grab a dozen!
They don't have a huge selection of donuts, but the ones they have are amazing. I chose a filled Cinnamon Sugar donut. You can choose what filling you want. They had vanilla frosting, lemon, raspberry, and Bavarian Creme. There may have been more. I chose vanilla for mine and they do not skimp on the filling. The donut itself was fresh, soft, and moist. Very happy we chose Early Bird. My wife picked a coconut donut and a Bavarian creme filled chocolate covered donut. My daughter pick a classic glazed donut and a blueberry cake donut. We were all satisfied.
The donuts are absolutely delicious with lots of variety. I also got the breakfast croissant and it was just, well, too much (sloppy) and not really flavorful. But this could definitely be just a matter of taste/opinion because I saw another customer who seemed to be enjoying theirs very much!✌️ Overall... Go early and get those ridiculously delicious donuts!!
They have delectable soft, fluffy donuts! Their donuts also aren't too rich so they're great for a breakfast treat. If you want to choose your donut flavors/types, make sure you show up early because they sell out fast! Also, they have the best apple fritters here!!!
Was told these are the best donuts in the triangle. Didn’t disappoint in anyway. There was a longish line. Totally worth it.

This was our first time coming here. It was easy to find and a little quiet spot. The gentleman who served us was very nice. They were sold out of everything except for the glazed donut holes by the time we got there after 12 noon.
We bought all of them. They do have an extensive menu and it is nice and clean inside. The donut holes are very good. I would highly recommend coming here. Next time, we are in the area we will stop by. I'm looking forward to trying their kolaches with sausage rolls.
