Zizzi - Durham

Brought a group of twenty and with a reservation we were able to be seated all together. Many people loved their dishes. I had the calzone carne piccante and it was pretty good. Service was okay. Was not waited on very well, but the food came out quick. Overall, I am satisfied with this dining experience.

We walked in on a Thursday at about 12pm. Greeted by two very nice ladies who sat us, we had already decided to have the set menu after looking at the menu online. My partner is hard to please with his food but he loved all three courses, namely the melted cheese with dough balls, the beef and chanti pasta and chocolate cake! I had the calamari, chirzo carbonara and tiramisu and they were delicious. Three courses for £23.95 which we both thought was good value for money. Card only payment which was fine. Staff attentive, friendly and helpful but not overbearing. Will definitely come back again when in Durham. All in all a lovely meal, thanks to the lovely staff.

Generally good, however there was only 1 guy serving the whole of the downstairs and was run off his feet When we asked him why he was on his own he said there would normally have been 4 people on that shift however staffing issues had left him on his own. Which had led to mistakes being made, he dad dropped a bottle of wine close to some customers they had to get moved. He kept forgetting some of our drinks orders so it lead to some of our group not having a drink for a while. But we understood the position he was in. We tipped him anyway x
