I absolutely love the atmosphere in this place. It is a little pricey, but it's worth it. I ordered a glass of orange juice, and the waitress promptly put the oranges in the juicer and delivered a fresh glass. The pastries are excellent. This place made me feel like I was back in Europe.
Great service, excellent food. Had a late lunch here last week. Best ham quiche I have had in years, crust was flaky and the filling moist and well seasoned. Perfectly cooked. The best part of the experience was the friendly, knowledgeable and attentive service from James, our waiter. He is a real asset to the cafe.
Good food but service????. Very good soups and salads. Enjoyed a nice meal dispite a waitress who paid us little attention.
Bueno. Had breakfast with the boyfriend here, we were pretty happy. Espresso was good, I had the French country breakfast, which had more stuff with it than the menu stated, would have been nice to know. The croissant was delicious, the pile of fruit was generous, eggs tasted fresh, potatoes were good. My boyfriend had the stuffed croissant and loved it, devoured the whole thing before I finished my plain one! The atmosphere was lovely, the waitress and buss boy were attentive and polite. I didn't think it was too expensive, my meal at Gazpachos was way more pricey and not anywhere near as good or filling. --Oh and I peeked in the kitchen, very clean and bright and the cooks looked happy. Always a good sign.
Wonderful, French dip was the best I can remember. Service was very attentive. Was in Durango two years ago and had breakfast that was very good, so we thought we would try them again. Even better than before. You will not be disappointed. Food and service the way it should be.
I highly recommend the bar special - one of the best values in Durango. You order a bottle of wine and get a cheese/fruit/bread plate with it. Also, the lobster bisque is great. Recommend brunch but not dinner
Great cheese plate. Seafood quiche is excellent!
Expensive but worth it. We stopped in for breakfast, and I ordered a croissant stuffed with egg and ham and cheese. It was sooo good -- melted in your mouth. My husband ordered french toast and loved it. We each ordered one small glass of juice, which ended up costing us $8. The fresh-squeezed OJ was very tart. Next time we'll order water.
BREAD. They have awesome french bread. I went to college with the owners son and it was the highlight of life in the dorms when he would come back to school after going home for the weekend. He always brought back fresh baggettes. I have visited the restaurant several times and the food has always been good.
This place has fresh and amazing bakery options! Their food is delicious! Highly recommend!!
Very nice breakfast place. They have a very nice selection of pastries for take out, or eat in and enjoy the historic atmosphere. The waiter told me the bar is made with beams from a nearby mine.
Selection was limited due to pandemic shutdowns. We were here Thanksgiving week and restaurants were closed down to take out only for safety. The items we purchased were yummy and the person that helped us was kind and accommodating. Goods were fresh an beautiful but pricey.
Excellent atmosphere! The live pianist was amazing. Food was very good, chai and caramel latte were fantastic. Seemed a tad overpriced (we were going to order mimosas but one glass cost the same as a midrange bottle of champagne!).
Stopped in Monday for pastries, coffee and brean. None disappointed. Had to stop again on Thursday when coming thru Durango, picking up more pastries and bread.
Definitely worth a visit
Pricey but good environment and great food and drink!
Simply the best breakfasts in town. Pastries are amazing, coffee is great, service is wonderful, and the setting is beautiful. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch their piano player in the lobby. Make sure you throw a few bucks in his jar! 👍
