We went here for a sixtieth birthday party. It was a party of six, and everyone seemed to like their food. My dinner companion raved about her lamb chops. She said that they were the best she ever had. The birthday celebrant had steak and lobster. She thought that the steak was underdone. She had one piece that was so tough she could not eat it. The lobster was great, and the rest of the steak was fine, but for the price of the meal, the steak should have been perfect. I had the sliced Filet Mignon. The quality of the steak was very good, but it was overdone. I ordered it pink inside, and it did not turn out to be that way. Each of us got a complimentary glass of champagne to begin with, and the birthday girl got a large complimentary desert. Overall, it was a good meal, but it should have been perfect for the $700 price tag.
How can you not like The Capital Grille? The French onion soup was heaven in a bowl topped with cheese. It isn't very often you find a crouton that still is crisp in your soup.
I decided on their signature burger....OMG...I understand why it is a signature item. Fabulous beyond words, as always.
The Capital Grille in Dunwoody is national chain of steak houses under the Darden umbrella... The interior is a bit upscale modern crossed with arts-and-crafts (mainly in the lighting) and is sure to make you feel comfortable, with real cloth tablecloths and napkins, etc...I can't vouch for everything but those items I've had were all exceptional. At some point I'll come back and sample the steaks for a definitive comparison...
Great Birthday Dinner for my Mom!. The food was wonderful, the service very attentive. Mom (age 82!) loved every minute. Thank you!

Wonderful place for a special occassion. I had eaten at the Capital Grille in Buckhead about 10 years ago & remembered thinking it was awesome, but that was before I became a serious foodie. I wasn't sure if it would still live up to my expectations but thankfully, it actually exceeded my fabulous memories in regards to both the food & service. Our waiter, Jesse, was fabulous. We will definitely ask for him again the next time we go back. We went to celebrate my birthday & when I got to the table, it was decorated & had a bday card on it waiting for me. They gave us the most amazing champagne to toast with after dinner & a fabulous little desert tray for my birthday. They also left me with a rose at the end of the evening. Aside from all of the amazing birthday touches, the service was impeccable. I have been to many other fine dining establishments, but this is by far the best service that I have ever received. I ordered the seared tenderloin with butter poached lobster & it was fabulous. My husband ordered the filet and added the coffee rub to it. We both loved his. We ordered the 1/2 lb crab leg appetizer, which was heavenly, but be forewarned, it cost $28 (we didn't ask the price when we ordered it. Oops...). The cocktails were all wonderful. They ranged between $11-$13 each (there were no prices on the menu). By the time it was all said & done, our bill was about $300, but we seriously splurged (multiple cocktails...etc). It isn't somewhere that we could afford to go all of the time, but if you really want to impress someone with something special, this would be the place to go to. Oh yeah, their tomato & mozzarella appetizer with the sweet aged balsamic was also incredible. Best I have ever had.
This place is AWESOME!!!! I've been to different ones in other locations and I never have a problem. If you go request the lobster bisque, it's usually not listed on the menu!!! YUM
Great!. My wife and I visited the Capital Grille for the first time a couple of weeks ago. As a business traveler, I have eaten at numerous Flemings and Ruth’s Chris; this was my first visit to The Capital Grille. I could not have been more pleased with my experience. The Capital Grille has the others clearly beat.
The food was outstanding. I had a NY Strip…it was cooked perfectly and the quality of the cut could not have been better. The service was great; the chef even came out to explain the menu.
We will definitely be regulars.
Great dining experience!. My husband and I visited opening night and had a great experience. The servers were professional and attentive. Overall the food was really good--highlights were my husband's New York strip (awesome!), and the cheesecake (best I've ever had!). Honestly, we were expecting the typical chain restaurant experience, but were pleasantly surprised by the intimate atmosphere and the unique menu choices. Definitely worth a visit!
Our waiter Alex was PERFECT!~ He kept our glasses filled, was very knowledgeable about the menu, and his service was stellar!~ Soon as we walked in our table was ready. The food presentation was impeccable. The only drawback I had was the dress code. It CLEARLY wasn't being enforced. A lot of the guests wore jeans and t-shirts, and one man even had on joggers. Other than that the food and the ambience was great.
I can't speak highly enough about this place. I was looking for a "fancy" restaurant to take my wife for Valentine's Day, and this place did not disappoint. I had a reservation, so we were seated in about 5 minutes. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food choices and the specials. The atmosphere was very calm without too much bright lighting. While majority of the menu was a la carte, there was a wide selection, and every item tasted great. The steak was very juicy, and didn't need anything extra to make it taste great. The pork chops were some of the best I've ever had. They have a dress code, which is something I was also looking for. It's an expensive restaurant, but that's to be expected and did not deter my decision to eat here. We will definitely consider it again.

First visit to this location. Very large chain of top Steakhouses. Short menu but all excellent choices. I ordered the Boneless Prime Ribeye with Parmesan Truffle Fries. My wife ordered the New England Clan Chowder for an appetizer. Her entree was Seared Salmon with Avocado, Mango and Tomato Salad with Champagne Vinaigrette. We were the first ones in the door so this might just be a factor in the speed at which we were served. Lightning fast! We had our food within 30 minutes of walking through the door. My wife's Salmon was prepared exactly as she requested. She loved every bite and even commented on the addition of butter leaf lettuce in the salad. My steak was prepared perfectly which is refreshing. I always get an overcooked steak everywhere else. Overall, if you are looking for good food and a relatively romantic setting, this location is highly recommended! As a special surprise we were offered an Italian-style Cheesecake with Creme Brulee topping and berries with sauce on the side. Delightful!
Adequate parking since it is in the Perimeter Mall parking lot. They also have valet parking. The ambiance is exquisite. Service is friendly, elegant and effective. Food was prepared just right. We had salmon, salad and New England clam chowder. They have a well stocked bar and a large selection of wines. A private room was available for meetings or private events.
Great quality food & cocktails! Wow I have recently attended a private function here and besides one small hiccup with our order service was attentive, friendly and the food was amazing. One of the best things I didn’t have a chance to snap a photo of was the lobster mac and cheese!
Visited this location for a night out with friends and really enjoyed this location. The food was superb. Our server was a little eager but really helped elevate our experience she took her time and explained things on and off the menu , while this was not our first time , it definitely was a different experience than our trips before. The only set back to our night was the choice of seating we were assigned. Maybe it was the time of day we visited but we were placed in the back by the restrooms with relatively no other patrons at the restaurant. We felt a little snubbed. Hopefully on our next visit we can have accommodations by a window or the bar.
My new favorite restaurant for special occasions. The service was outstanding and the meal was impeccable. Jason was kind and attentive yet knew exactly when to check in. The porcini ribeye was tasty and enough to share. I knew I wanted to try the lobster mac and cheese and though the lobster flavor was not strong the dish was rich and decadent. When we mentioned that we did not drink Jason offered us the most refreshing non-alcoholic drinks made with grapefruit juice AND a delicious crème brûlée dessert on the house in celebration of our anniversary. This is exactly what fine dining should aim to be. I only wish I tried this place sooner because we definitely have tried others and paid more but had less than stellar experience. We will definitely be back, hopefully before the next anniversary!
There is a great ambience in this restaurant. The bartenders Jeff and Noah were excellent! They offered professional service in addition to their friendly conversation.
