Sagebrush Steakhouse Dunn

Even though the restaurant was very busy, our wait was short. Our waitress, Kelly, was very helpful with food suggestions, which were excellent. My ribeye was cooked to perfection. The loaded potato soup was excellent. And the grilled shrimp was very tasty. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone. And Kelly bent over backwards to help us with information about the area.

I wouldn't suggest going here for a special occasion... I usually share good reviews, but hopefully this will help someone. We were seated in the bar area around 3 on a Saturday, we figured we'd beat the rush. We ordered drinks that consist of 2-3 ingredients, server/bartender simply said no and pointed to the cocktail menu. My husband then ordered one from the list, but they didn't have all of the ingredients to make it..... Stick with beer or wine. Our food was brought out, missing our child's meal. Our server said from afar that someone would bring it out, and that's the last we heard from her. No correct side for the kid's meal, no drink refill, and no check back. We had to ask a different server for the check. Apparently, no one knew who had our table... As a former server, aware of shift change, I know that it can be done a right way with some care and respect. The food was fine. Usually we tip generously for meeting the basic needs of a meal, but they missed the mark for sure.

It was crowded and the hostess said it would be over an hour wait. And then she told us that a small round top table was available in the bar. When I heard this I took it . It was small and in the very far corner of the bar. But it worked out great. The waitress in the bar were busy but took great care of us. I had the Ribeye my wife had the grilled shrimp and the boys ate off the children's menu. It was also my son's birthday that week. So even though the place was busy they gathered up 3 to 4 waitress and sang him happy birthday and gave him a great dessert. One of the best nights out. Go hungry and leave HAPPY.

There were high and low points to our Sagebrush experience. The kitchen had trouble preparing multiple items to order. The food itself was decent, but medium-rare meat came out with absolutely no interior pink, as well as items were not left off various dishes. The high point was the staff. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. We asked her to pass along to management the issues with the various dishes, just so they were aware. She did that, which prompted the manager on duty to come to our table to discuss our concerns. While we were satisfied with just passing along the information, Leigh offered us coupons. We plan on returning and hope that the kitchen will be better than this trip.

The best part of my meal was the ceasar salad. Can't really mess up lettuce though. My husband liked his chili side. I got the steak tips. There was maybe 2 actual steak tips the rest was just a cut up steak. It smelled weird and the one bite I took tasted off. The server never checked on us and by the time she came back with the check I just wanted to leave. Was never asked how the food was so figured nobody cared. Wouldn't go back, I don't like wasting money.

This is the second 1-star review I am giving this restaurant and the final time I will eat there. This is a steak house that does not know how to cook a steak. I really think they had the heat turned up too high on the char broiler. I asked for a steak cooked to medium. It was charred outside and completely RAW in the middle. Not rare but RAW. i will state again that at a steak house, no matter how busy the staff is it is the proper procedure by the staff to have a customer cut into their steak and ascertain that it has been cooked correctly. This did not happen either time I visited Sagebrush. I sent it back and while it was cooked to medium this time it was even more dried out than it was the first time around. Secondly, the waitstaff is very disorganized, I had to track a waitress down to get my check and a to-go box. Honestly, the food is not worth anywhere near the $35.00 I spent there tonight. The brownie with the Hersey bar on it was nothing special either.
