Very good Japanese, big city style eatery with big portions. My cucumber salad and tempura was big and delicious. Attentive staff and clean dining room.
An incredibly welcoming and experienced staff. Be patient with the language barrier if one exists and use the assistance bell if you need anything (this is the norm). Private booths should be called ahead of time to be reserved and are recommended for large parties. A lot of folks throughout the restaurant are ordering these large specials so use your time wisely and chit chat away. You're not here for a quick dinner but for an engaging one.
Fantastic food offering for the Sashimi Large Special. The two photos below were the primary focus points here. Soup and belt fish thereafter. Prior were an arrangement of Korean side dishes, a large tempura platter, steamed egg, two more plates of cooked fish, and the list goes on. I have already returned and will return once again!
Fresh fish and extremely reasonable price. Love the covid safety as well. I felt well taken care of and left very full.
We visit so many sashimi restaurants in GA. And then, It becomes our favorite restaurant. We like their very fresh foods and side dishes. EVEN ANOTHER FOODS ARE GREAT TOO. Everything is yummy and who works there, they are so nice and clean. When you get there you can see their great service. ^^
Had lunch here with my partner today and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and portion sizes. I normally go for extravagant rolls and shy away from plain sushi since I've had negative experiences with it in the past. I got the sushi and sashimi lunch special and it was *amazing*. The portions were huge for the price, the cut on the fish was perfect, and it was the freshest sushi I've ever had. My partner got the chicken teriyaki lunch box and while he complained there wasn't enough chicken, he doesn't really eat veggies so I'm chalking that up to his own issues.
I also love that despite serving a Japanese menu, you also get an arrangement of Korean side dishes. I lived in Korea for 2 years and this definitely brought me back! The waitstaff was friendly, and just remember if you need something they have little bells at the table (typical for Korean restaurants). I will definitely return if I'm in the area again.
Misong knows their sushi and I don't mean your typical rolls and nigiris. They use some of the freshest seafood around and it's evident from the cut of the fish to the first bite. Our family typically orders the Super Sashimi & Sushi which goes a long way to satisfy 5 people, because its not just sushi you get. Once the order is placed, the waitress covers the table with 6 different types of banchan. Then the accompaniments arrive, which includes soy milk noodles (kong guksu), takoyaki, tempuras, corn cheese, grilled belt fish, steamed egg, shumai, chive pancakes, teriyaki fish, and bibimgooksu (spicy cold noodles). Yes, all of them are included with the Super Sashimi & Sushi and are a delightful opening act. But wait there's more. The main course arrives, which is a gigantic mound of different sliced fish and another plate of nigiris with the fish pieces cascading over the rice. There is clarity from each bite of the sushi and sashimi that they KNOW their fish and it's from the freshest fish monger in town. The finale to the meal is a bowl of rice topped with baked masago and a cup of the spicy miso fish stew that is still a continuation of the Super Sashimi & Sushi. If you are wondering how I can still fill my stomach with more food, that's a fair question, as I was wondering the same thing myself. The rice was dry but I did love the fish stew for the fact that it helped tie the meal together and proved to be a palate cleanser of some sort to say THE END. While I enjoyed the food and meal immensely, I do unfortunately have to take off a star for the service. The waitresses are very attentive at the beginning to get your order, but then its nearly impossible to track them down, even with pressing the call button. It took 15 minutes to just order sake or to get a water refill. Albeit they are very busy on weekend evenings so reservations are highly recommended. The restaurant is perfectly configured for covid with an array of private dining rooms and a gigantic metal detector-like machine as you enter to remotely take your temperature. Please bring an extra sweater because they do keep the temperature very cold in the restaurant as they are handling the freshest fish.
