Golden Corral

Let me preface this by saying I have never been a fan of Golden Corrals in general. The whole open buffet thing is just not my jam. However, sometimes family gatherings take you to places you don't normally go. I'm giving this a fair shake, setting aside personal preferences about the venue as much as I can. This Golden Corral was actually pretty good. It was super crowded (lots of people with and without masks), but the staff was very efficient, and it was quite clean given the high traffic. The line moved fast, our party of 9 was seated promptly and drink refills were brought out regularly. Our server checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. There was a really big selection of food. I tried bits of a lot of items. Some better than others - fried chicken was pretty good, bourbon chicken was OK, fried fish was tasty. French fries and tater tots can always be counted on... nothing really wowed me. Except the chocolate cream pie. That thing was delicious. I should've just skipped to dessert. If you know you like Golden Corral, I would recommend it. If you're still struggling with anxiety about eating out due to Covid or are an avid and particular foodie, I'd give it a miss due to the crowds and unspecialized menu.

Buffet places are hard to find. I enjoyed my baked chicken, Mac, and green beans. My dessert was decent, the fudge brownie was basic, the bland out of a metal can comfort food. It was filling, and enjoyable. The front wall at the drink stand when you come in, can be throughly cleaned down. Lots of splash marks. The people in there working are doing a great job, but the people dining in, on the other hand, are kinda rough looking.

I had to update my review on this restaurant. I ordered delivery through UberEATS. I ordered a cobb salad. They sent a garden salad with enough onions on it to make 10 burgers. I order two orders of fried chicken. They sent only one and the leg had blood running out of it meaning it's not done. I called to complain. Manager tells me to contact UberEATS because there's nothing he can do to refund me my money. I'm telling him that I don't mind getting the order replaced but he couldn't do that. So I'm just stuck because UberEATS didn't want to refund me my money. I will never order from them again.

I can't believe I'm giving this type of restaurant 4 stars but the steak was seriously good! Really. Everything else was as expected, except for the staff who were very friendly and accommodating on this Easter Sunday. Against my opinion my family decided to eat out this usually crowded holiday but they were on their game and the wait was less than expected.
