Went to this restaurant today based on the reviews and was amazed beyond the high expectations I had already set. From the moment we got in to the moment we left, the owner of the restaurant directly took care of us and ensured we had a personalized experience. The restaurant not only has an authentic vibe, but it also has some of the best food I have ever had for these types of dishes. The lamb fell of the bone and the chicken in the combination kabob was some of the most flavorful and juicy I have had, especially with the touch of lemon. The fresh homemade bread tied everything together with its flaky warm texture and delicious flavor.
At the end of our meal we had the baklava which was to DIE for with it's near perfect balance of flakiness and satisfying chewable texture with the sweet filling. Before heading out we had the afghan green tea as a palette cleanser and were taken aback by the soothing aroma of the hot fresh brew. It was a great way to finish a great meal and experience. I highly encourage people check out this restaurant and bring their families as well as the food is just killer. I can't wait to go back again for the food as well as the hospitality of the genuinely passionate owner!
A singularly exquisite dining experience in an authentically Afghan atmosphere. I can't say enough about this restaurant! The music set the mood, the food was top notch, the lovely waitress was attentive and warm, and the owner came out to greet and engage the patrons. If you're looking for amazing Afghan food, or even if you've never tried it and are interested in a new, fun experience for a date night, you cannot go wrong!
I recently visited Khyber Pass Kabob in Dublin, and it was a memorable experience. The restaurant's ambience immediately struck me as both authentic and warm, making for a welcoming atmosphere. The service was exceptionally friendly, adding to the overall pleasant dining environment.
As for the food, it was an authentic Afghan delight. I tried the Chicken Kabob, which was succulent and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the aromatic Basmati Rice. The Lamb Shank and Ground Beef Kabobs were also recommended by fellow diners, and they did not disappoint. The portions were generous, ensuring a satisfying meal.
What stood out to me was not only the quality of the dishes but also the variety. Vegetarian options like the Badenjan in the vegetarian platter were equally impressive, offering a well-made and substantial meal for those preferring plant-based dishes.
Khyber Pass Kabob truly deserves its high ranking among Dublin's restaurants. Whether you are new to Afghan cuisine or a seasoned aficionado, this restaurant is a must-try. The combination of delicious food, warm ambience, and friendly service makes for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning soon!
Absolutely worth a try if you are in town. I had never had this cuisine before and loved so many of the different flavors and combinations. Large portions and finished off with dessert and tea. So much to try and glad I was able to experience this.
I came here for my birthday. The staff was absolutely amazing and accommodating! I asked to sit in the beautiful room with the pillows and they accommodated us! I ordered a vegetarian dish, the borani Kadoo- which is pumpkin with a delicious yogurt sauce and a side of basmati rice and OMG it didn't disappoint!! It was absolutely delicious!! I also ordered the doogh-it's a plain yogurt drink made with cucumber and dry mint, that I found to be very tasty. We ordered delicious hummus for appetizers and Mantoo and TBH, it was the best I've ever had. My boys had the manoo entree and the tri-tip/lamb kabob they said was absolutely delicious!!! For dessert, we ordered baklava and Firni pudding made with rosewater, cardamom, almonds and pistachios. The server told us that his mother-in-law is the cook and everything is homemade!!! This place is a JEWEL 💎!!! It is perfect in every way!! They made my birthday very special!!!
We had an incredible dining experience at Khyber Pass Kabob, an Afghani food restaurant. The variety of dishes we ordered, including Chopan Kabob, Chicken Kabob, Sabzee Challow, and the vegetarian option, were all absolutely delicious. The sweet dishes, especially the baklava and Kulfi, were a delightful treat that left us wanting more. The owner, Sultana, went above and beyond with her warm hospitality and even offered us extra baklava as a complimentary gesture. The excellent service and the outstanding food made our visit truly memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to return for another delightful meal!
It was a lovely experience dining at this place.
This is a family run restaurant, and the owner takes pride in what they do. They love to cook food and serve customers and want you you to have a fulfilling meal. The flavours of their food, the preparation, the portions are a reflection of that.
I loved the in house baked warm bread and the chicken kabob! The firni at the end was an absolute delight!
Their food is excellent with great accommodating staff. Thank you Sultana and Monica for great recommendations. Highly recommending to try their appetizer “ Mantoo “. Love this place!
The food and the service were chef's kiss. My friends and I went to this restaurant after a tramp park. We were given the large seated area with the colorful scarfs. The food from beginning to end was delicious. Our hostess was personable and sweet. I will definitely go again when I'm in the area.
I loved my experience here so much. I met the owner and she’s an incredible woman. Her food feels like home and I very much recommend visiting! The ambience is sooo cute as well
