This is one of my favorite places in Douglas for some breakfast and a latte with a friend. Yeah, sometimes it takes a minute to get your food, but it's a quaint, relaxed coffee place - they're always doing their best and that's what matters. Their baked goods are delicious, they have great breakfast options, and their coffee blends are great. I have no problem being patient and enjoying my coffee while I wait a few minutes for my food. 😊 Thank you for serving Douglas.

I have never had a better Avocado toast in my life!! (and I love Avocados)
The avocado was so fresh.. no blackening and amazing bread, too. I also ordered a blended coffee drink( Mocha Glaciar?), which was yumm!!
I found the place very friendly. The person behind the counter took the orders with a big smile :) It makes a difference!

Such a cute shop, the patio was adorable! Coffee was absolutely fantastic and fresh. The food was made right in front of us with fresh ingredients, and the staff was so friendly. Perfect place to grab a coffee and sandwich on our way out of town.
My husband and I are sure to visit Respite every time we visit from Illinois. We suggested our son and his wife try it. We all keep coming back. The menu board can satisfy any palate, and the coffee, tea, and specialty drinks are spot on. The staff has always been very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy.
Respite is a great little coffee house with a very cool menu of designer toasts. Seems everyone does avacado toast these days but they do so much more. Excellent coffee drinks and a welcoming place to hang out.
This place is so cute and is tucked right in the heart of Center Street in Douglas. Their specialty toast is fantastic. I have never been disappointed by the food here. They use really fresh ingredients and offer unique combinations alongside traditional staples. Their honey lavender latte is delightful in the summer.
Camping at Van Buren State Park, needed a place to warm up and get out of the rain, this cafe was truly a delight. The large front window brightens up this coffee shop, most are so dark doing art is a struggle, not this place I’d highly recommend this to anyone in the Douglas or Saugatuck area looking for a place to do some writing, some art, or chatting with the locals. Wish they had some gluten-free pastries or snacks. Thank you so much for a great welcoming joint for my girlfriend, her service dog, and myself!!
Stopped in for coffee while out on a motorcycle ride on this sunny, windy day. Good coffee, friendly barista. Few seats inside but a nice deck outside. Nice selection of baked goods.
A wonderful cafe run by some really nice people. I had a great time enjoying my coffee in their outdoor spot. I would definitely recommend others to try them out. Some really good selection of coffee and breakfast.
I've been here a few times every trip I take to Saugatuck and Douglas, and I just love it. The cold brew is delicious. Their pastries are insanely good (maybe too good 😋). And the best part is the staff. The girls there are so sweet and helpful. I wish I had a respite where I live!!
Easy parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Fresh pastries are devine. Drinks are great- I had an oatmilk lavender, honey latte. To go items are eco-friendly. Restroom is easy to find- bit cramped. They use the space well. Relaxing atmosphere and easy walking in downtown area to other shops.
The baked oatmeal with cinnamon, strawberries, and blueberries is perhaps the best oatmeal I've ever had. My partner had the avocado toast and describes it as the best he's ever had. Super-friendly staff. Great place.
Lovely little coffee shop. Can be slow service when it gets busy. But for only two people working, they did their best.
We vacationed here over the weekend and it became our morning stop for drinks. I love the tea glaciers, both Chai and matcha.
Lovely atmosphere. Delish lattes. Soothing environment. Nice and clean. Pricey but worth the splurge. Had a very fresh granola bowl that I enjoyed. My latte was excellent.

Charming café on Douglas' main road. Perfect for an early breakfast, it has a small menu but everything appears to be made fresh and to order. Given the small number of staff on-site, wait time can be an issue
