You can find this location of Baldino's Giant Jersey Subs at 5697 Buford Hwy NE, Atlanta, GA 30340, just about across the street from the Buford Highway Farmers Market. This is a free standing building with limited parking so best to come as a group (you can thank me later). I don't write about sub-shops much as I'm really not a big sandwich fan, with the exception of burgers and Reubens. Usually if I'm out with friends and they want to get the classic sub, we head to Subway - it's easy, predictable and they usually have some deal on a 6" sub. Occasionally we'll hit Firehouse or Wich Wich if there's one nearby but honestly I've had maybe 2 subs in the last year or so - it's just not something that comes to mind when I'm thinking lunch.

The most amazing subs in Atlanta. I have been eating here for over 15 years. Always fast & fresh. The meat is sliced in front of you and the lettuce and onions are shredded perfectly. They bake their bread daily, offer party subs, and have other deli specialities available. The daily specials are great $3.49 for a half sub depending on the day what is offered differs. Must go!
Saw this mentioned in eatbufordhighway blog. Had lunch ther today. Had the hot Italian sub and the Philly cheesesteak. Very tasty. Good bread. Fresh ingredients.
Best sandwiches I've ever had. I've been going here 2-3 times a week for lunch for several years and it's consistently great and cheap.
Good subs. Better than all the typical chain fare (subway, Quiznos,etc.). The bread is really good. The meat is solid. Great sandwich for lunch
The pinnacle of sub foodfare! Been goin there 15 yes or so never a bad meal!
BEST SUBS IN GA. WOW LOVE IT.
Fantastic and great deal too!. I go to Baldinos for lunch at least 1 time a week on Buford highway.... they crank out your order super fast and they have gotten it right Every Time! They have never messed up my order (I always get my sandwhiches with no onions and they get it right every time.. which is great considering they make 200 an hour) The soup is great and the pasta is good too! And you can't beat thier $3.49 special they have everyday.. Tuna Fridays are my favorite. Also.. the people working there know what they are doing... they don't mess around and are pro's. And when I am off I go to the one closer to my house in Marietta.. they are just as good too.
There is something magical going on at Baldinos Giant Jersey Subs. A type of street magic made famous by David Blaine, illusions so simple and elemental that is rips your philosophical belief structure apart. I stood by the counter and watched my Italian Battalion sandwich get created - pressed ham, boiled ham, salami, cappacola, peperoni, and provolone - a scatter of lettuce, tomato, onions, oil, and vinegar. All on a plain old white bread sub roll. The sandwich artist with a mane of dark ringlets tucked under his baseball cap made no tricks nor added some secret ingredient - in fact he watched the NASCAR race on the TV most of the time as he mechanically made my sub. There is no reason that sub should taste as good as it does, and every sub I have had there since has been just a delicious.
It's one of these disappearing Atlanta places, Baldino's is. It's roughly across the road from Buford Highway Farmer's Market, and used to be a favorite of a 6′ 2″ Korean coworker whose build and athleticism eliminated any notion of Asians as small and
The founder, Bill Baer, is from Jersey and opened the first Baldinos in Fayetteville near Fort Bragg in 1975. Today, there are more than 14 locations throughout North Carolina and Georgia that offer larger than normal, made-to-order subs prepared with fresh- baked italian bread with generous portions, making a half order (Half Sub = 6 ½” Whole Sub = 13”) enough for most people. The
cold cuts and cheese are sliced to order. At $4.49, the daily sub specials are great deals.
Overall, great subs at a great price. To add, the staff members are always nice. If you go during lunch, the lines can get kind of long, but not to worry it moves quickly.
Want to try: #26 baldinos® Cheesesteak
With cheese, lettuce, onions, tomato, oil & vinegar, grilled onions, mushrooms, bell peppers #30 The Grilled American
Extra Provolone Cheese, Turkey, Smoked Turkey, Roast Beef & Hard Salami
I’m born and raised in Jersey.. and I have to say this is the most legit sub I’ve had outside the Garden State. I got the number 7. Pretty traditional Italian. Everything is perfect and the hoagie roll is soft and light.
Aside from that I love the decor from it being around since the 70s and the oldies music.
Ordered online to skip the line. Family size Turkey and a Philly. Can’t go wrong W/ any type of sub here. Bought some extra fresh bread for later.
I love how it has that cool classic deli feel. You really don’t see those around anymore. And the sandwiches are very good! My favorite is the ham and provolone. The bread is definitely what separates these sandwiches from other sub shops. I like how it’s kind of flat on the top. It helps to keep all the stuff in the sandwich together so it doesn’t fall apart. It also gives it a good crunch while still maintaining the soft texture on the inside. The oil and vinegar is really good too! Overall one of my favorite places to go to!
This sub shop has been here for years & a staple of the community. My late wife, all my children, their friends, my friends, everyone ate there & all said it was the best sub shop around. I finally after all these years took my 90 year old mom. She commented several times how the bread was so good the meat obviously better than the other chain places tasted like what you get at the Deli at Publix. They move the line right along taking orders clearly politely and quickly. Plenty of room to eat inside & outside on the covered porch with tables, plenty of parking wheelchair accessible. All the employees are friendly, daily specials, great prices. Outside the perimeter on the right N bound Buford HWY look for the brown background yellow letter sign.
It was one of the biggest subs I've ever had! Fresh, juice.
I wish they had a few more options like olives 🫒 and sweet 😋 🌶!
Worth the drive from Smyrna! Nice staff
Pretty good sandwich but you need to know how to order because they move fast.
Take a seond to look over menu before going to the counter. There was an issue with my order but they resolved it immediately and I ended up getting extra stuff.
This does remind me of the old deli's in Jersey. I lived in Doraville over 20 years ago never have gone in deli. But decided to try it today and was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was truly enough just for the half you wont leave hungry.
Wish I knew Sub Lingo. I thought pressed meant a hot Sandwich. It was okay I feel it would've been Ten times better if it was a toasted or hot ham n cheese. I'll try them in the future again. This was my first visit
