Very stylish decor and modern setup. The food was below mediocre for taste and timeliness of arrival. The Mac and cheese was crudly and white with no flavor in which i sent back for corn. The catfish was crisp,hot and delicious. The steak bites were cooked just right with good flavor. Cornbread was dry and crumbly. The bar was making drinks just right and I was very satisfied. The wait staff was attentive and nice.

My food was all warm/ room temperature. The sever was alright but she forgot a lot of was need for the party of 7. I didn't get a water and I'm not a fan of plastic silverware. The restrooms need to be cleaned and the menu's needed to be cleaned off.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Since I have begun this Google maps journey I would need to add my experience at this place. This restaurant is large enough to accommodate a nice crowd. The food is yummy as they specialize in Soul Food. Greens are good, Mac&cheese is good, yams are okay. I love their fried catfish and fried shrimp. This place is still moderately priced dispite the rise everywhere else. The staff is very friendly. Pork Chops, beef ribs, you name it and they can prepare it.

I’ve been to this place a few times. More not so good service than usual in the past few years but the food always taste good. Yesterday i went 3pm, as soon as they opened. They instantly had a wait simply bcuz the staff was moving w/ no urgency as if they didn’t just open. Some lights still weren’t on and their was no music playing when we were waiting/standing at the host area… it was only two of us to eat for my table. When we were sat, i looked around and noticed how filthy the place was with dust/dirt. Especially the ceiling fans. I told my partner to order us an app n waters while i went to wash my hands. The water took a long time to get hot & soon as someone flushed the toilet the water pressure dropped… i came back to the table to no waitress coming or being over. At this point 18mins passed. I kept looking at my watch & around the restaurant. Another server asked have our waitress been over and i told her no. She went to get her; she came back and said a few more minutes she’ll be over. I said at this point its been over 20mins. As we were about to walk out the lady came over & said what can i get you. She had no friendliness, no hospitality, and didn’t introduce herself… i was beyond hungry so i sat back down and said ok lol. What is your name? I believe she said candice or something. But her vibe was nonchalant. I ordered steakbites app, 2waters, catfish w/ 3 whole wings & 1side of salad. She said you can’t just have a salad as a side. You gotta pick a side & pay extra for the salad.. I said why if they are all sides? Can you go ask? & she came back so fast saying the same thing so I went w/ just the seasoned fries. My partner had catfish w/ mac & greens. The food came out pretty fast and in the order as it should (meaning the app 1st, then entrees). The guy who brung out our steak-bites was nice. He even grabbed us some app places like i asked. My partner asked him how was the steak cooked bcuz our server didn’t ask us how’d we like it & we forgot to mention it as well. It was more onions/peppers than steak but it tasted great w/ that sauce. Could’ve been hotter temperature tho but we enjoyed it. The entrees came shortly after but my waitress tried to take my plate back after asking me “you said seasoned fries right?”.. I said yes but leave em & my partner can eat them, just add on a salad for me cuz that’s what I originally wanted anyway. I didn’t understand why she’d take my plate back as if it’s still not a pandemic and that’s just plain nasty. The salad came out great. I asked for a knife, napkins and the bill. We finished eating & lost our server who never came back w/ the bill. Only the knife n napkins. After about 15mins we saw her at the bar n my partner went to her to inquire about the bill. They said their card machine is down! I questioned why wasn’t that told at the door before we were saw by the host… then my partner had to pay that atm fee which isn’t a big deal but it wasn’t apart of our plan to get cash. Also we waited an additional time to get change cuz the lady said she had to fine some. My issue started from the unnecessary wait at the door at open time && we were like the first 10 tables in line. That 20min wait of looking for a server is when I could’ve been eating appetizers. I should’ve have been there over a hour. It wasn’t the kitchens fault.

Last week was meeting my daughters for dinner. The restaurant we wanted to dine at was closed. So we settled on Southern Fires…BIG MISTAKE!
The menus they gave us were sticky, the waitress didn’t bother to replace them.
When our order arrived, items were wrong and some items missing. No biggie, that was corrected.
My youngest daughter and I ordered the beef short ribs, it’s 30 dollars a plate . It came smothered in a horrible tasting jar gravy.
I asked for the manager (you can call me Karen if you like)
I first complimented the staff on how they corrected our order and I then told Bree, the manager, that I had a critique.
Me: while the staff corrected our order, I was disappointed in the nicely cooked tender piece of beef being covered in jar gravy .
Bree: First of all, we don’t do can gravy.
Me: I didn’t say can, it’s from a jar or powder or whatever kinda mix, it wasn’t homemade. I’m offering an suggestion that if you’re charging 30$ a plate, the gravy shouldn’t be pre made and it would only enhance the meal to have home made gravy. It’s neither expensive or time consuming to make.
Bree: To each their own, people like our gravy.
I sent Bree away because I likely would have completely lost it on her.
I was told by another staff person the Owners name was Eddie, he wasn’t available for me to speak with.
The service was horrible and for parties of more than 3 gratuity is automatically included. The wait staff were horrible and need training.

Went to this establishment in October for my brothers Birthday for the first time and the food was exceptional. The waitress was very friendly. I can't wait to vist Detroit again so I can enjoy this place again.
P.S. The Vibe in this place was awesome!

“It is so bad. I want to give you a ZERO, but that’s not possible. So I give you a ONE.” Literally I swear this was the ABSOLUTE worst restaurant I’ve EVER been to! We went for my sister in law’s birthday, she had a 7 o’clock reservation and somehow we didn’t get seated until 8:23pm and once we were seated it was no better.
I understand we had a party of 12 and they charge a gratuity fee of 18% which is understandable I suppose but what I DON’T understand is why they don’t allow separate checks?! We had to calculate how much our food cost per person plus figure out the gratuity fee per person! Don’t let me get started on the Waitress, she had the worst communication in the world! My sister in law ordered 4 martinis which costed 12 dollars each and because they were flavored they costed extra but the waitress instead told her that it was tax which how does 4 drinks rack up 8 dollars in tax? Then I paid for my meal which was $27.40 and I gave her $28 and when she was bringing receipts she was just not gonna say anything about my change so I mentioned it and she said we don’t do change here but if you want you could give me a dollar and I’ll give you the change back..huh?!? You would now be taking even more money from me! And the menus are awful and they don’t even have drinks on all of them but your expected to know what you want to drink! Also the food wasn’t anything spectacular, it was something I could’ve made pay home or got from McDonald’s.Lastly, if I’m paying $22 for my meal it’s kind of odd I’m eating with plastic utensils, but that’s just my outlook. I just do not recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I hate to say this but I was very disappointed in the food and the service this place has fallen off since the last time I was there. The food which used to be very good was not good, the chicken had no seasoning whatsoever, the greens was a bowl full of juice. The catfish and Mac and cheese were ok and the cornbread was the best thing about the overly priced $20 meal. The service was terribly slow at the table and the bar. Our waitress never checked on us for anything and we had to flag her down to ask for additional items such as napkins and dressing for a salad and we still didn't get either one from her, lucky for her the tip was already included in our bill because she surely didn't earn one. The host who's name I can't remember was very nice and accommodating though we were seating in a booth directly under the air vent so he moved us to another one. I will go back there only because of him to be honest but I will be sure to eat and have a few drinks somewhere else before I go there. I've always loved and patronized your establishment but you all need to do better for real and either hire some new staff or retrain those that you have.

The service today was the worst I have ever experience at Southern Fire. We waited over and hour to be seated and waited over 2 hours for our food to be brought to the table. Then our food wasn’t good considering we have ate here several times and food normally is on point not this time. I think I will pass on eating here again. Southern fire you get two thumbs down ��

We originally tried to call and do a carry out, but was unable to and decided that we would just dine in and the service was beyond terrible. You could tell that they were understaffed and had no type of order as my waitress was literally working the whole restaurant. At one point the receptionist was taking orders. After finally being seated we placed our ordeders. 20 minutes go by, 30 minutes, go by. We ask our waitress what's going on with our food. She said they had the ticket, but nothing was up. Not even my appetizer. After about 45 minutes I asked for the manager who I'm told his name was Warren. I told him how long we had been waiting and what the situation was. He "claimed" he would check on it and get back to us. Well not only did he NOT check on it, he never came back to the table to address our issues or even check to see if it had been resolved. He never even offered us anything for our wait. A Lil over an hour later our food arrives. I asked for my steak bites to be medium well and they were over well done!!! We didn't receive any comp on our bill for our inconvenience or even apology except from the waitress as the manager Warren never made his was back to our table!!! The food was just alright. I was highly disappointed with the food and overall experience and will not be returning nor will I recommend this place to anyone. It was a complete mess yesterday!!!

The food was great. Our server was great. We did have a long wait to be seated, but it was to be expected on Father's Day. The food look a little long, they brought our appetizer and food all at the same time. One thing I would suggest is that they be better prepared for special occasion days.

The food was ok, but the service was terrible. We ordered our first drink and then appetizers and didnt see our server again for a good 30 minutes and that was because my husband flagged her down for some water. After waiting 15 minutes for water, I was done. Other tables were getting better service so I guess it depends on who you are. Another server came back and checked on us, but by that time we were ready to go. I am disappointed because the music and atmosphere was nice and I was ready to drink. Not sure if I will give it another try.

I just want to come on here and say last night I went to this restaurant that used to be my favorite restaurant Southern fires let me tell you it was the worst experience of my life first of all it took an hour and a half to come take our orders then on top of that once they brought the food out that took another 45 minutes the food was cold I asked him and numerous people at the table ask them to take it back and redo it they brought it back it was still cold so yes I would not recommend this restaurant to nobody do not go there do not patronize them and they need to shut the place down. PS they will never get my business ever again I'm done with that hole in the wall.

We got a booth! The tables are too short to eat dinner there. It took the waiter 45 minutes to bring me a beer and when he did it was the wrong beer. Dinner was not hot enough for me

My first time there we really enjoyed the food, entertainment was good, our waitress was on point and attentive. We will definitely visit again next time we will take a few family and friends maybe consider getting a booth.

The worst experience ever, it wasnt crowded at all it took almost an hour for us to get our order taken and then another hour to get our food then the food came out it was cold majority of the people's food had to go back. Don't get me wrong the food was okay except for the greens they were awful but the food was not warm so it did not taste right. I would not visit that place again.

They need more servers. My server had to runaround all night to keep up. Food was ok. Ordered catfish and shrimp with greens. Greens came out cold. Fish was bland Corn bread was dry and cold. Will I come back I don’t know.

I had the best experience with your bartender April she was very knowledgeable with all her liquors great conversation and such a wonderful personality!!! She will be one of the many reasons I return oh and great food btw!!!
