A Table For 8
This is one of my friends fav spots. So after leaving another restaurant we weren’t happy with she suggested here. We wish she had in the first place. When we step in the door the warm welcome was so inviting! The energy in there was awesome! We sat down and started ordering all kinds of drinks off the menu. Every drink we had was good! My salad and shrimp Alfredo was flavorful and tasty. I don’t eat pork but my friends pizza and pasta smelled and look delicious! Im definitely going back soon to take my husband.

Great place to get a fun & tasty lunch. Larry was awesome and served up the best drinks while being able to keep customers feeling very welcomed. The limoncello wings are a must.

Great little place in downtown Detroit. Classic Italian flavors and dishes. Nice atmosphere, open kitchen, large bar. The food was good well seasoned and balanced. I had the stone fired pizza. The crust was cooked perfectly, had the stone fire texture with out a ton of scorched marks on the bottom. The pizza options are more classic with a some American styles as well.

Amazing! The food was delicious, even something as simple as the fries were just out of this world! The salmon was impeccable and their specials really are special. It’s a small place, but you will leave with the fine dining feeling!

Fantastic Ristobar-esque atmosphere. The drinks were creative and well executed. The Food was served quickly, and was delicious from start to finish. My only critique is that the pasta menu seems to rely heavily on butter and sage as key flavors. While each dish on its own was a work of art, after trying several they seemed mildly repetitive. Overall fantastic experience! We will certainly have to return in order to give a more balanced review.

Absolutely amazing food. Everything was hot! Best bread and chicken parm I’ve ever had!

I am traveled from 28 cities on a long road trip. never leave a review on any restaurant. but this restaurant deserves it. It's because of the fried calamari recipe. I think the guy's name was PIER or something like that, I don't remember. I have never eaten such a delicious fried calamari. congratulations chef and the bar person was really nice.. sorry my English is no good.

I cannot rave about this place enough! The customer service alone is enough to make me a loyal customer. I highly recommend Simone as your server. She is FANTASTIC. Additionally, the food is excellent and the atmosphere and ambiance are perfect. An absolute gem. Try the Rocket pizza and house salad! Just like the pizza I ate in Italy! 10/10!

First time at LaLanterna. It won't be our last! The food was excellent, the atmosphere casual and comfortable and a friendly staff. The meatballs are delicious. The calamari was some of the best I've had. I loved that we could watch our pizza being made too. Don't miss this downtown gem!!

Walked in restaurant was packed. Hostess found us a table for two right away in the bar area. The hostess noticed that we had not been attended to by A server in a timely manner and she personally made sure someone took care of us. I felt like she was going above and beyond her job to make sure the restaurant ran well. We had the fried artichoke and the fried calamari was fantastic. For an entrée we shared a awesome lamb chop meal. Food and drinks were awesome!

Pretty good food. The service was a bit slow. I was nervous when we ordered burrata and heard the kitchen staff asking how to make it to the server and she was looking at the menu to tell them. The chopped salad was good, the Lomardia pizza was great and the burrata was actually amazing.

The service is exceptional and the food is fresh and tasty. There is a welcoming spirit when you arrive and the staff honors the historical connection of this restaurant to its Detroit location and the family's commitment to rebuild and quality landmark. The calamari remains a standout choice and I'd also recommend The 1956 Cocktail. Will surely return and recommend!

Enjoyed my first visit to LaLanterna. Easy going atmosphere with a friendly bartender to boot :) The pizza was good and so was the wine. If I'm in the area in 2018, and I have a crazing for a 'pie', I'll pay a visit. PS: they're a great addition to Capital Park.

Detroit has brought back an Iconic restaurant that I use to eat in as a child. Some of the traditional foods from the old days are they way I remember them as a child and the new menu items we're fantastic. I recommend going to this historic restaurant and go with a group of friends and order the menu this way you can try everything and enjoy they way Detroit use to be. I will be back ! ! Great Food,Excellent Service. Tell them UT sent you. ! ! ! ! ! !

La Lanterna's is definitely a "must go" if you want phenomenal Italian food and have fun. It's one of my favorite downtown spots over the weekend. Big plus: people are extremely friendly!

The food was brilliant, the service perfect and the ambiance friendly and warm. The portion size was just right. I can’t say enough good things. We will absolutely go back.

Italian food is not my first choice, but it could be if it was all like LaLanterna! Great food and excellent service. I will be back....
