We had not been here since the new ownership and wanted to give it a try. The person who took our order was far from happy and cheerful which would have been so much more of a welcome. Maybe he was having a rough day... Who knows. Overall the food was good and I don't think this experience will stop us from returning.
The food is good, service could use a little more social practice. The drinks are great and they are willing to swap out Liquor on the blended drinks because let's face it not everyone likes rum in their Daiquiri.
The queso with pico is nice and spicy if you have a low spice tolerance. The enchiladas were wonderful. I would go back for the food and drinks but not the service.
The atmosphere is really nice, and would be a good place to bring the family for a night out. The carnitas dinner was good, if not as seasoned as a traditional Mexican dish would be. But this is Minnesota, and I know most of their customers probably don't like a bunch of spice.
I couldn't tell if they were short-staffed, or if the place was just that busy. When staff did check on me they were very polite and conversational, but it was difficult to get their attention in the first place. By the time I left (around dinner time) I noticed a waiting line to be seated, so that tells me that it is a local favorite, if there's already a waiting time on a Thursday.
Decent atmosphere—nice and airy. Alambres carnitas was excellent. Queso fundido as well. The hot salsa was outstanding! You have to ask for it—spicy and flavorful. Good margaritas. Attentive staff. The food came out of the kitchen like lighting. I’ll be back. Maybe molcajete next time. Totally spaced the great view of the lake.
Amazing Parrillada! Kids meals were a good size and the warm chips with salsa were terrific. Warm chips make me so happy. It was chilly inside so bring a sweater if you chill easily. Service was good and food was quick. We will be back!
