Review Zapopan Mexican Food - Desert Hot Springs

The service we received tonight 10/15/23 was excellent. We ordered our food and received it within 20 minutes. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The food is amazing. We got Birria Burritos both wet and dry with bean and rice with sauces and guacamole. The burritos are huge!! Very very good. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend

Delicious food, perfect taste! Great customer service. I have dined in and take out. I also did a large order for an event. Thank you to Jorge for working with me. I recommend this place for the authentic Mexican food!! They had me at first bite of my taco!!

Really good. We got beef taquitos and a steak burritos. This place has to be a favorite because people kept coming in while we ate. Line was almost out the door at one point.

Me and my wife shared Chorizo plate, and it was really good, the salsas were good and the price and service were great. Super friendly.

Wow this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in a while! The food is made every day which no one really does anymore. It's a shame I didn't find this place sooner.

Food here is always good! We have ordered so many different things and everything is delicious. This time we got the chicken taco salad. Yummy!So much food!

Man. That wet burrito and hard taco was perfect. The flavours of Jalisco, Mexico….the owner was so friendly to us, we kept talking to him even though we were in a rush to go.

Good mexican food here I tried a couple of their alpastor tacos and I was satisfied the seasoning was good the tortilla was tasty and their sauce was good all around good food here when I entered people started to pile in but the service was fast the employee there don't keep you waiting and let you know when your food is coming coming up. It was my first time here it was suggested by some of the locals so I had to try the food and I am not disappointed. The michelada had alot of lemon juice just the way I like it this was my first time but it will not be my last.

I've loved this place since day one I remember them opening and being half the size they are today. Everything about this place is great 👍

Fast and the food was Great! They do get a little busy and I suggest ordering by phone for pickup because ordering at the counter may take 10 to 15 mins before your food is ready. Just wished they were open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

I love this place. There are a ton of Mexican restaurants to choose from in DHS but this one always hits the spot for me. There is something about their potato taquitos that I just can't resist. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven't already done so.

I absolutely love their Chile relleno burrito... I can eat it everyday with the green salsa and a Chelada.. to go plz... 🙏

Probably ordered a bit too much but everything was so good. The quesadillas were probably my favourite thing but all in all the portions were huge and the food was delicious. Service was pretty quick and friendly and there were plenty of seats. Definitely plan to go back next time I'm in the area.

Nothing spectacular about this place. The place was clean and the staff is friendly. I have had better tasting mexican food at the same price. Definitely meant for those that like the more bland and not spicy (not all all) mexican food.

The food is better than any of the other Mexican's Restaurants in Desert Hot Springs.

They have good food for a decent price. You don't get chips with your orders and that's a negative. And they close every year in July for vacation.

Always the best! Green Chile Verde Burrito is my favorite but everything is great. Friendly local atmosphere is the best. Thanks George!

Service was soo good � Manager was AWESOME and the waitresses were so busy that day but still managed to keep a smile on there face and service my family as quickly as possible. Food was great ! Michalada's were very cold and taste so good. Taco's are always good I personally love there veggie burrito with extra cheese, no onions and plenty of salsa. Can't wait to go back! My mouth is watering already. �

The best in town the shredded beef hard shell tacos are one of my favorite or carne asada wet burrito. the green sauce is great get a half pint togo. Last but not least let's not forget about the chile relleno burrito.

Bomb Tacos and super Bomb Chavelas! I had one at 8:00 in the morning, while looking at everyone coming in and out of Starbucks I was happy with my Chavela lol then again I had came out of work at 7:30am so it was ok lol

Update: Got charged for extras, got home and they weren't in the food.<br/>Food is 10/10 for sure but service is whatever and kind of rude every time. (The negative reviews are pretty similar)<br/>They talked right through me to each other about pizza or something ignoring me then just kept going "Sorry, what was it?"<br/>When I came back in to get my order the girl was on the phone (which isn't what bugged me) and just slid my food forward. I said "Thank you." and she ignored me.

Delicious delicious delicious! My bf and I shared a carnitas torta, it was so flavorful and tender, it was enough for two! We also got the nachos and the homemade flan. The price was just right! Very affordable. The workers were so nice and helpful.

Been to every joint this entire valley has to offer from Coachella down to ps and all have failed but never did I ever think of dhs. But today you guys proved me wrong, you guys surpassed my Mexican taste buds and brought back home to me, everything was delicious staff was awesome and helpful. Definitely my new go to spot.

Friends of our's recommended Zapopan to us, so we decided to check the place out. for lunch. My wife and I both ordered the Breakfast Burritos with Chorizo and Huevo. Cost $5.99 each. For a drink I had a Mist and my wife had water. The Mist drink was refreashing, without being too sugary. We were both surprised at the size of the breakfast burritos. They were about 8" long and filled with ground beef sausage, egg, beans and cheese, in the Mexican style. I had forgotten that our friends normaly order one of these and share. So as a lunch meal, this was a fairly big for us.<br/><br/>Being diabetic, my wife did not eat the burrito wrap, but just the contents. I ate the whole thing, but will probably have a lighter evening meal. Zapopan's is a popular restaurant in the area and has lots of seating. We asked for a take out menu and will be back again. Now that we know the portion size we will order accordingly.

I ate a late lunch here today. They weren't overly helpful at the counter, but i ordered what they eventually recommended -taco and enchilada combo. it came with 5 tort chips which were ok to good. The meat in the taco and ench was very good -shredded beef. however, the ench sauce tasted like it came from a can. the taco shell likewise did not taste fresh. the marinated veggies on the salsa bar were very hot, but not very marinated. the salsa verde was good to very good. <br/><br/>still, the meat, beans and rice were all very good. with that in mind and not yet full (for $7 i was not surprised) i decided to try a burrito since i knew the rice, beans and meat were all very good. this time the counter was helpful so i ordered the pastor burro. this was very tasty and had plenty of meat -it wasn't all rice and beans.<br/><br/>if i go back, i'll avoid anything with their ench sauce. i'll probably get their asada burro, but may try another combo. i do recommend for a 1st visit.

Simple Tasty. Don't expect 5 star dining. This is a takeout place with sit down. It is an affordable place with good solid food. Very clean, which is always important. We were not starving the evening we went and generally do not frequent places like this. I had a burrito and my wife two tacos. The burritto was delish! What I really enjoyed about it was that it was not salty, in general I find fast food burritos to be SALT, very happy. The tacos, were plain and simple and are designed to put their salsas on it. The marinated carrots, go doubles on those, very nice, great flavours. I would return when I want something cheap, easy and tasty. ( about customer service, our experience was great, staff were kind, helpful and when they were not busy with customers, they were cleaning, prepping etc. I saw nothing but pride in their venture).
