Not my first time here but first time sitting up at the bar to catch the hustle and grind. Always a 5-star experience. Friendly and fast cooks/staff who have been around for a while, even the customers. Never had a low running cup of coffee here. Portions are generous and fresh at a reasonable cost!
Perfect old school breakfast spot right by the train station. Vicky was outstanding and one of the best waitresses I've ever had. Skirt steak and eggs was cooked to perfection down to every detail. If I could give this place more stars I would. Outstanding food with hundreds of options and top tier hospitality. It doesn't get much better than that.
My first time here! I ordered breakfast & received the best omelette I’ve ever tasted! Our server was very attentive, & delivered our food in a timely manner. The Sugar Bowl is a very clean restaurant with cute decor. I will recommend this restaurant & eat here again.
Service was so delightful from start to finish. The food was great and the atmosphere was peaceful. If you're in Chicago looking for a good breakfast or lunch with the mom and pop feel and an A1 attitude, the name says it all. Sugar bowl❣️👍🏾🖤

Carried out two lunch entrees. And wonderful service. Very impressed with the quality of food and customer service. Will be back to dine in after seeing all the entree photos!
Greeted promptly and seated quickly, but then decided to move tables because the table we sat at had a major wobbling-rocking motion issue.
Served water and coffee immediately.
A few minutes later, Vicky came by to take our order. We ordered the House Crepes and a Denver Omelette. Everything was hot and delicious and served promptly. Coffee cups were always being refilled. Clean, bright restaurant that has a lot of history behind it. The ONLY disappointment was our expectations on the menu pricing. We downloaded the menu from their website before visiting, but their prices went up .75 to 1.20 + depending on what you order. They need to upload their current menu pricing, so as to not deceive the public.
