The food was absolutely amazing! The flavor and presentation is beyond fantastic!! The menu is limited so reviewing on the website is encouraged so you won't be surprised. If you like bread, you need to order it, it's not offered during dinner and not listed on the menu. If you dine Wednesday or Thursday night it is beautiful, relaxing and quiet. The decor and chandeliers are gorgeous! The wine list extensive. Weekends are a bit too loud and we were rushed through dinner...even told by our waitress we had to hurry through dessert because people were waiting for our table. Moments later she actually said we needed to move outside or leave. I thought that was incredibly rude especially since we were there short of 80 minutes. I definitely will return during the week...scrumptious, local and a Des Moines Gem!

We absolutely loved Aposto! The Scala House is lovely and we love the Sherman Hill area. Being in a historic home made the entire evening feel cozy and the food was fantastic. My partner and I shared the charcuterie board, cavatappi (all house made pasta), goat cheese fritta, and lemon cake. We had plenty of leftovers to take home and really appreciated the great service. Their menu is seasonal so we can’t wait to go back when they change their menu for a new season!

The food quality here is excellent. There is not a menu item you would not be satisfied with. You cannot go wrong with the Osso. The service staff is well trained and very knowledgeable. I also enjoyed how they have a small but focused menu. The restaurant atmosphere is very unique in what appears to be an old Victorian home.

When they were cafe Discala, Tony helped me propose to my wife! I was able to go there again for my 10yr anniversary. It is always amazing food.

This place is always great. Delicious food. Great service and the waiters love sharing the history of the house. If you want a dinner time slot I would recommend booking a week or two in advance. Otherwise 8pm is usually available.

My wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day here. It was a delightful experience. Delicious high quality plates, selection of wines and great service. The mussels were amazing. Highly recommend, make sure to book a table well in advance, you won't be disappointed.

The wild bore risotto special was perfect. Not particularly visually appealing so no pic. Very warm and comfortable interior, friendly staff and strong / dry martinis.

Went for restsursnt week and had a great experience! We weren't sure which wine to get so the waitress let us try a couple to help decide. Had one of the best ceasar dressings I've ever tasted. Both our entres were on point, especially the home made cavatelli noodles. Desert and coffee were also very good! I'll be going back soon to try out their full menu!
