Chips and salsa was pretty good. We were seated quickly with friendly service. Waiter was really nice and checking on us. I like how they brought out a cold mug to go with the coors light. The chalupa was really big and crispy. Excellent meat inside. Food came out hot. Spanish rice was really delic
Visiting Des Moein from out of town, and stopped by this place for lunch. So happy that we did. The food is amazing. The portions are huge. I couldn’t finish mine and took the rest for dinner. Service is also great. Everyone was super friendly and fast. Will come back in the future.
Pueblo Viejo is one of the best lunch spots on the East side of Des Moines. The food is always outstanding. Service was great. However, the food subpar to say the least. My tortilla was so soggy it fell apart in my hand and i couldn’t eat my taco and my taco was filled with mostly tomatoes and barely any steak. Beans were great though! and Horchata was amazing!

Service was great, server was super friendly and attentive. Salsa was amazing, very good flavor and tasted fresh. Food was mediocre (chicken fajitas). Looked and smelled good but did not have as much flavor as I'm used to ordering from other similar Mexican restaurants in the DSM area.
My husband and I ordered to go, I had a steak fajita and the steak was bland, tasted like it was leftover no flavor, rice and beans left an aftertaste.
