My husband and I have been going to Exile for years. Exile is a go-to for us when we want good beer and good food at a good price. Staff has always been friendly and we enjoy the atmosphere. You can almost always find the game you’re looking for too. They have good staple beers and always have new stuff on rotation. No matter your beer preference you can always find something to drink. They got a new chef a little while back now and the food has remained good if not better than before. They keep their staple dishes, but there has been fun new additions that have also been really delicious. Last we were there I got the mac and cheese with steak and it was so good. Creamy sauce and the steak was so tender. Our favorite meals are the chicken bites (their homemade buffalo sauce is the best) and their chicken wrap with fried brussel sprouts.

Wish we were hungry because the food smelled good. May have to go back just to have food with my beer next time. Still give them 5 stars for the beers and aesthetics of the place. If you like craft beer, stop in. The flights range from $10-14 for 6oz glasses.

Exile was a good place to eat & grab a drink. I got the exile chicken sandwich & it was very good! The fries were also good & the atmosphere is that of a trendy brewery. I also had their craft beer "Ruthie" which was a good pairing with the sandwich & fries. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

Fun brewery restaurant. Definitely not the best craft beer in town, but perfectly respectable especially for a larger microbrewery. Food is upscale pub food and always is pretty good. They host some fun events as well throughout the year.

Beer was awesome! Cocktails were also very inventive and delicious! Food was made exactly the way I requested! The Christmas decorations for the holiday season really completed the visit as well!

Great beer pub in downtown Des Moines. The brews were cold and tasty and we had a good meal out on their patio. Nice spot to hang.

This past weekend I was lucky enough to propose to my girlfriend Paige on the patio at Exile. I emailed in to inquire about making arrangements on the patio to have about 20-30 friends for the special moment and Michael shot me a message right away. Not only was he fast to make accommodations, but he pretty much laid out the whole plan for how I could do it. He was easy to contact throughout the planning stage, and was there the day of to help it go smoothly. I was a wreck anyways, but without Michaels help I would've been lost. We took a tour with the owner and got to see the inner workings of the brewery which was amazing. The whole staff from the greeter, to bartenders, to event coordination made this day something we will never forget. On top of the incredible beer and service, the food (as always) may have been the star of the show. We ordered meatballs, chicken bites, and truffle fries for the party and its very clear that each item was made from scratch in house. There are so many amazing breweries in DSM and several more are on the way, but there's a reason you see Exile Brewing on tap in every single bar you visit. These guys are the best of the best from top to bottom and they proved that on Saturday. Thank you guys SO much for everything you did. -Ryan and Paige

Overall, it's okay. The starters were amazing, but I couldn't even finish my main. I got the steak salad, and it was basically just a pile of bland greens and a medium amount of steak on top with little dressing on the side. The sink in the bathroom is loose, and the soap dispenser seemed broken. There were also a few fruit flies and bugs flying around me and my food since the door the the outdoor seating is always open. To be honest, I'm not going back here.
