We found this place on our honeymoon a few months back. We had an extra day on our vacation and knew this was the place we would go again. Another amazing dinner and breakfast had. The fish and chips are to die for. The clam chowder is the best!!!! For breakfast, it all tastes fantastic!
I highly recommend their extra large fried prawns. I had them several times years ago and really liked them. So when we made another trip out this way it was a must stop. We were not disappointed! It was still as good as I remembered!

This resturaunt may appear to be a dive at first glance but it's far from it! The food is terrific! The playing of bottles is a fun additive, but Mike & Uncle Woody are the treasure! They give the beach a festive island vibe. Lots of laughter, love & awesome music! I'm beyond greatful for this awesome highlight of every beach trip I take. Its the BEST way to end a beach day! Thanks guys! ~the Rappin' Granny
Great chowder, fresh seafood. Ask for the table by the fire. I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner.
Went for dinner with family. The halibut was awesome and the chowder was good. We were in the bar and were lucky enough to be there when the bartender and our waitress played the bottles. Was a great experience.
The clam chowder here was freakin’ fantastic. It was WAY better than Mo’s “world famous” clam chowder. The soup of the day was delicious too. Good service, cute atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
King Neptune Platter sauteed and a cup of chowder. Easily the best seafood on the Oregon coast. And, this is coming from a coasty boy.
Terrific service Tuesday evening. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Manager served us and went above and beyond, she was a real service professional. Excellent service and food.
Don't Judge a Book by its Cover! This is really a great spot. They have great service, great food! One side is for family's and the other is a very full bar. They have music, but I don't the schedule. Well worth your time and money!
Enjoy, West-Morry
Wow....JUST WOW!!!. We are return customers for the last several years. We celebrate our anniversary with Sea Hag since Cannon Beach decided to ruin the restaurant we went to on our honeymoon. Excellent service, the only chowder that is better than this is my own!!! We have chowder up and down the coast and Sea Hag consistently has the BEST chowder ever. We have the pan fried oysters and they were so big, they needed to be cut in half. YUUUMMM. We will be back ANY time we go to the coast, but especially our anniversary!!!
Delicious!. Had the salmon fish and chips and it was amazing. Also, the clam chowder, as everyone says, the best I've ever had!
Memories. You can NEVER go wrong with the Sea Hag. Best clam chowder I've had in my life. My mouth is watering just thinking about the sea food pasta with huge chunks of crab, prawns and shrimp. Oh my.
Classic seafood restaurant. An old-time feeling seafood restaurant. We absolutely love their calamari... the best we've ever had (thick and tender wedges, not skinny rubber bands)! We keep returning.
Do the chowder!. Despite foundering myself on a bowl of the most quintessential clam chowder on the surface of the earth , I could not help but notice this place is the real McCoy. A classic American seafood eatery, with a view of spewing whales and the endless Pacific Ocean all tied together by a personable staff.
Do yourself a favor and experience the Hag before she too disappears into history, you will be glad you did.
A MUST HAVE. I go to the Oregon Coast every February to celebrate my birthday and the Sea Hag is my ALL TIME favorite. We had food at the fire pit inside and met the new Owner Jerome. he was the nicest man. Every bite was a taste treat and I ate way too much. The crab shrimp Au gratin and clam chowder are "to die for" Heavenly for sure. . . I can't say enough good. My folks made it their destination every year when they were here. I'll continue to do so.
Great Meal and Good Service. My husband and I ate here on our last night of vacation, the only thing that was disappointing about our visit was that we had not eaten here sooner! If we had I am sure that we would have had two or three visits there this week. The Halibut Oscar was really good, the Ahi Tuna appetizer was out of this world as was the home made bread pudding. My husband had the all you can eat seafood bar and treated himself to 7 plates of clams and mussels. Our waitress was very attentive and very friendly, overall enjoyed our dinner very much.
Yummy chowder and I loved the crab and shrimp dish . Open faced english muffin with an alfredo-y sauce loaded with crab n shrimp topped with cheese and popped under the broiler for a few. Soooo good!
One of my favorites!. We come here every time we visit the coast. I enjoy crab omelettes and they have the best. For years we just came for the breakfast but lately we tried dinner, very good. The whole crab was great but the steak was average. Overall the food is among the best and we will continue coming back on every trip!
Excellent pub experience. My wife and I ate dinner here after a long day on the road. The hostess was busy tending bar, clearing tables, taking orders, and delivering food -- but took care of us ASAP.
My mixed drink tasted unusual, and I was informed that they use some odd cola variety that my taste buds did not like. The waitress dumped it... did not charge me... and brought me a familiar cold beer.
The bread was warm and fresh, however the butter was oil or margarine based -- not real butter. The chowder was out of this world, and I'm NOT a chowder person. I ordered salmon braided with halibut and hollandaise sauce, and my wife ordered broiled salmon. Both dishes were cooked to perfection with no complaints, and the salmon portions were huge.
I asked for extra veggies instead of the dinner salad, and this was gladly accommodated by my waitress and the chef.
This restaurant/pub is not a fine dining experience, but is certainly an excellent pub experience. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, and her recommendations were spot-on.
The best chowdah...evah!. I've had chowder all over the country, New England, east coast, south, mid-west and here in the northwest, none compares to Gracie's Sea Hag. A bowl of chowder and a shrimp cocktail are the perfect lunch. I go out of my way to get it when I drive from the south coast to Portland.
Classic Oregon coast seafood menu.Portions just right, good flavors, quick service.Great value.Tommy said the oyster sandwich was perfect, condiments on the side, oysters lightly breaded and then fried. My open faced shrimp& crab sandwich tasty.
We have been here many times, it's always decent. Nice folks. Pretty good. However today we had breakfast here for the first time. It was very good. Their hash was good and home made (not canned dog food like some places...)
Six of us had lunch here today with no complaints. Clam chowder delicious! We split 2 wonderful marionberry tarts which were huge and wonderful!
Great chowder and fish and chips!!
Chowder was great and the salmon fish & chips was excellent! Service was good too.
Fast seating, friendly waitress, good food, good service, good prices
Really nice rustic seafood restaurant. Friendly service on a busy summer Saturday afternoon. I sat in the bar/lounge which was a much nicer environment than the crowded and loud dining area. I got the clam chowder in a bread bowl and the stuffed mushrooms. The stuffed mushrooms were INCREDIBLE if you’re even thinking about getting them, do it. They’re pretty rich thought. The clam chowder was delicious!! Not too thick, couldve used a little more salt but that’s just me. The bread bowl turns all bread-pudding-y and delicious. I also got the Marion berry lemonade which wasn’t great but I’m also just a lemonade connoisseur so take that as you will. Overall I’ll definitely be back!?
The clam chowder was better than Mo's, but it was later in the day than what I had at Mo's. It was creamy and not overly peppered. The potatoes were soft and though there weren't as many clams as Mo's they weren't as rubbery.
The stuffed mushrooms had a great flavor with a nice cheese layer.
I wish I hadn't ordered the sauteed seafood platter. The portions were anemic on the fish, their picture speaks to the sheer volume of sliced canned mushrooms in the dish. The butter was mostly just watery. I get most people think low animal fat is healthy, the fat carries flavor. The seasoning was okay. But the tiny bits of salmon, and halibut were a disappointment.there were two and half 40 count shrimp in there.
I didn't get the fried seafood platter so I could avoid the light breading and over processed seed oils.
The service was pleasant.
The bathroom was clean.
The parking was typical tourist town on the street. Find somewhere else to park if you've got a trailer or long vehicle.
The area has several poke stops and two gyms nearby. There is a route that starts a little north of the sea hag that is a nice walk after you eat.
The clam chowder is as good as everyone says it is. But even better imo are the stuffed mushrooms. Some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Their signature salad was very good as well. Service can be a little slow when it’s busy and the room can get loud. But the servers are attentive and friendly.
Great place to eat. The atmosphere and paintings are so cool. I got the Halibut fish and chips. It was delicious. It comes with fries or coleslaw. I went with the coleslaw and really liked it. Just a really cool place.
On a roadtrip and staying near the area and decided to stop here for lunch. Delish! Loved the vibe and area of Depoe Bay and this restaurant. Party of 7 and we were seated in less than 5 mins. Two of my kiddos ordered the clam chowder soup in a bread bowl...they both LOVED it! My littlest got the kids grilled cheese. I had the cod sandwich, which was great! Fries cooked perfectly! Overall, terrific experience and would come again if in the area.
What a neat place. We were just passing through and saw it was open. We split the Sea Hag Benedict which was plenty. I can honestly say it was the best Benedict I have ever had. All the plates I saw pass by looked just as appetizing. So then I google and see they are rated as ine of the best clam chowders on the Oregon Coast. It is a very clean and decorated in art and photo's from the local town. Charming. I would definitely seek this place out if I pass through again. And props to Brittany our server who was super nice and accommodating.
Chowder bread bowl, steamer clams, and fried seafood platter were all fresh and absolutely delicious. Bill came out to $55 which was cheaper (and bigger portions!) compared to the previous meal we had at Chowder Bowl at Nye Beach (similar items). Our server was friendly.
I hadn't been to the Sea Hag since I was a youngster. My wife and I stopped in. She had chowder and I had Halibut and chips. Service was great. Food was great. Atmosphere was real nice. It wasn't too busy or loud, however we went during the week. We'll go back there each time we pass through Depoe Bay. Absolutely worth the stop!
Eli was an amazing server/bartender/busser. He was super honest, attentive and personable. The chowder is hands down the best chowder I’ve ever had in my life. Stuffed mushrooms were excellent, a lot of filling and very tasty. I got the seafood pasta, so much meat. Clams, baby shrimps and the prawns were MASSIVE. Definitely a hidden gem! Prices were reasonable and food was top notch.
Pretty good if you like seafood. If you are joining your seafood loving friends and finding something on the menu, it's eh.
Cute town and excellent lunch. We missed breakfast and the staff added eggs to my crab melt - which was even better than most Benedict’s. Clam chowder was excellent as well. Recommended.
Added bonus. Saw a pod of grey whales in the ocean across the street!
I was a little disappointed in the 2 lunches quality was poor. We always eat at The Sea Hag it was owned by my husband's family and called the Sea Hag previous to Gravy. I had taken my guests from Minnesota and the next week we had company from Iowa for lunch. I'm going to say good quality has gone south.
This place provided the best clam chowder I've ever eaten. The seaside decor and live music were amazing too. This place overall was just great.
I have heard there are new owners, not as many tables in the dining area, but the food was still some of the best and the price won't break your wallet. I have been coming here for 30 years give or take and have always enjoyed my meals. It is a stop when I travel to the area I always try to make. Good quality and fresh.
Absolute best seafood pasta on the coast! I come here to get the Gracie’s Seafood Pasta whenever I am in the area. It’s always amazing!! The chowder is good. The service is divine! Eli is just a true gem!
Delicious clam chowder! The crab patty sandwich was filling , fresh, and delicious also. Atmosphere was friendly and inviting, and the locals made us feel welcome. Our waitress was wonderful too, a great experience and highly recommend stopping if you travel through Depoe Bay.
In from Pensacola Florida to visit my sister that lives in Keizer... She and her fiance have been going there for years.. and let me visit.. what fun! I loved the history of it all and learning of the playing of the bottles and the blind piano player..(I didn't actually get to see either one but it was such a cool experience) and I'd love to experience both... pretty cool ♡♡
