I saw some rude reviews about bartenders so I thought I’d throw my two cents in. I flew to denver for a show at the hi dive on July 6th(maybe 7th, it was thou/cloud ratt, false, moloch, primitive man) last year. I’m not from a cool city like Denver, and let me tell you something after being in Denver for two days last year I can tell you it’s pretty cool.
Anyways, when you come to a pretty cool place like the hi dive that had great sound, (I liked the double room style), you’re going to notice a lot of cool kids drinking a lot of cool adult beverages. Here’s the issue though, I’ve been known to drink too many girly beverages and embarrass myself telling everyone how great they are, or get lost walking back to my hotel in unfamiliar cities drunk, So I stay completely sober at shows. I can’t tell you how many cokes/waters the bartender hooked me up with, but I can tell you in most cool places I go, they’re not so friendly about me getting like 9 waters in one, night(yo it’s was 103 degrees that day i was dehydrated lay off me). Everyone at the hi dive who was just show atendees was super nice to me too and gave me some excellent hi fives when when finding out I flew there for a 12$ show. Totally worth it. Totally cool. Denver/hi dive = super cool/super hospitalitable
Owned and operated by denver musicians and music lovers. Your band isn't cool unless you've played here. Strong drinks, cheap drinks. I've seen emotionally moving acoustic shows, mind bending experimental shows that border performance art as well as had my shirt off screaming along with heavy hitting rock acts in this place. A great place to have a drink or ten and see local music acts as well as established touring bands in a great sounding room with good energy. Meathead factor is minimal. Don't be a dick to the staff.
I saw Deer Hoof here last year and it was dope. Last night I saw Birdcloud and the Ex-girlfrinds, the venue is great. Really bare bones kind of spot, perfect for punk bands and that kind of thing. Plenty of hot pseudo hipster tattooed bitches. Younger crowd 21 to 45 ish. Really hard to beat great music in a dive bar for only 12 bucks. This place is definitely something in which I will continue to fuck it.
A second home for myself and many of my friends. Have had nights there I'll never forget and better nights I'll never remember. They've seen me through my best and worse, and still let me in. All the owners are musicians, and what they do proves it. JJ is the ultimate HUNK, but I'll settle for a bit of Tanza when I gotta pop one off.
Seen some of the best shows of my life here and had some of the best conversations. A place I recommend anyone visiting town goes to see a show or just enjoy a drink.
Fun dive bar, great music, friendly staff and owner!

Some years back I took acid and went to a joy division tribute night here. Did I get kicked out? Heck no. I had the time of my life and was welcomed with open arms. Acid is always a bad choice however the hi dive is not!
I had the privilege of seeing one of the best indie country singers I've ever hear. Great beer and really nice staff. This place rocks when nothing else is open.
I really like this place! And I'm saying that as a patron and as a professional. Great staff, stiff reasonably priced drinks and a professionalism that isn't seen in a lot of venues! Thanks for making your artist's feel as welcome as your patrons!
One of the best venues in town not to mention the best staff!! Always a good time and nights to remember!!
Stay home if you're an asshole! This place is great, just not for you if you're a fan of: yelp, affliction or ed hardy gear, Coachella babies, LODO bars, the New England Patriots, and anything else that makes you appear to be a fuckboy.
Hi-Dive rocks! Well-run place. Curt took care of us, and Kim on sound did a great job.
Best homies, best shows, best people
one of the first venues I booked a show at in Denver. I have toured for over 15 years and have been booking shows for just as long. this place is the epitome of a music venue and what music is all about. Owned by musicians who know what bands like while on the road. they support the community and good times. If you are down with a bad time, don't come here. If you take yourself too seriously, don't come here. its a home away from home for many and a Denver staple.
This place has the best live sound engineers in Denver, hands down!
This place has been filled with RAD for as long as I can remember. I've frequented this place since 80's night was the shizzz over a decade ago. Since then I have watched friends bands go from PLAYING the Hi-Dive to OWNING it as well as attended some of my most memorable shows here. The Hi-Dive is family.
My favorite bar/venue on Broadway! Always a great atmosphere with cool folks. Free pool on Mondays. Upset that they no longer carry Lone Star Beer but I digress, a lovely place to grab drinks and listen to live music
Great venue, decent priced drinks and efficient service. Very clean bathrooms as well which feels rare to see at any bar/venue. Always has good shows to see!
One of the best venues in Denver, in my opinion. Great cue ticket prices and the bar won't let you down with ~$5 beers. You'll see people here before they make it big.
Epic sound. Great bands. Amazing staff.
If you’re a metal or goth fan. This is your new home.
If your jam is small, intimate venues Hi-dive can't be beat. I have so many fun nights here. You can be at the bar the whole time and still see and hear everything.
Wandered in and caught a show. Goth and industrial vibe, it's not my usual vibe but had a great time. Worth checking out if it's your scene.
There are a lot of bars that aspire to a genuine dive aesthetic and vibe. The Hi-Dive is an absolute gem of a venue with some incredible live music and awesome decorum.
Great staff great venue great people 😁👍 thank you to the one girl with dyed hair and ear bud earrings sorry i didn't get her name.
The hi-dive is a place where you can see live music, if that's not your thing at all there's really no reason to go here.
This is my favorite venue in town probably. The staff and the shows are always so good. I walk down there about once a week. Just shooting pool and having a few drinks there is great too
