Excellent! Everything was excellent, the flavor of my dish, the service, the entire experience was excellent. This was my first time to have legit ramen and Tatsu Izakaya did not disappoint. They know what they are good at and unlike many restaurants they have a two page menu (I’ve included photos). I had Tonkostu: creamy pork bone broth, topped with chashu, half egg, mushroom, sprouts, naruto, boo choy, green onions, ginger and noodles. My friend had spicy miso, it was delicious and slightly sweet. The parking can be difficult due to Tatsu being across from The university but if you wait a little someone picking up from Starbucks with move their car fairly quickly but be careful in parking in the 20 minutes only spots, it’s enforced. Go see this restaurant it is excellent!

-Pork and Chicken Gyoza (7/10 standard, wish it had a crispy skirt like some of the reviews, won’t get again) -Spicy crab salad (9/10 really good, will order with cucumbers next time) -Agedashi tofu (8.5/10 a little salty, would get again though) -Spicy Tatsu Ramen (8/10 broth and noodles were amazing, meat was a little dry) -Tatsu Roll (9/10 great balance of crispiness from the shrimp tempura, creaminess from the avocado, and great flavor from the crab and tuna. Did not taste the masago or cucumber) Overall, great atmosphere and great people! Our food came very quickly!

Nothing like a warm bowl of ramen after a full day of skiing 🤤. Go tos are tonkastsu ramen and shoyu ramen, I usually replace the meat with a soft boiled egg. Their shishito peppers are phenomenal. Excellent service, ample parking.

It's so good we ate here twice while on our vacation. Our server was fantastic, especially since she was the only one working the tables.

The food is delicious. The service is always polite and efficient. It's one of the few places where I can get ramen with rice noodles. The sushi is great, too!

It's one of my favorite ramen restaurants, which says a lot. I've been to as many ramen restaurants as I can. For me, the noodles are pepper spicy tasting. I liked it at first, but it does get tiring to the tongue. Which was unexpected because I love spicy food that others often find too spicy. Also, the noodles had a firmness to them that lasted even though I ate my bowl slowly that day. Not as firm as I would have liked, but I am splitting hairs. The vegetarian broth is savory and not creamy. There was also a variety of vegetables and mushrooms that were not in other bowels. The vegetable gyoza is great and unique. They cook it on a thin batter. I suppose it's like a crepe. It gives it a crunchy bottom without the pan browning it as dark as the traditional method. The top is then spaghetti/lasagna noodle soft. Different from the typical that has a firmer top and browned caramelized flavor bottom. I liked it. It's not better than but different than the traditional. Like, I could go back and forth and get variety. They also have boba snow, which is a sweet dessert as well. The boba wasn't overcooked, and there was plenty of it in the cup.

This is hands down the best ramen I’ve ever had. The flavors are so bold!! The pork tastes like it was grilled in a barbecue..just so amazing. Gyoza and takoyaki were delicious too. Service was a bit slow but they were really busy and the food made up for it.

I love this place. Located right down University and i25 can be hard to find parking but it’s fine most of the time. The service is excellent, waitress is very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the food and especially the ice cream. From the name i thought it was a dumpling place but it’s a Japanese sushi restaurant. They have plenty of options for appetizers. The pork was a downturn for me, but overall experience was good
