A simple, unassuming burger stand, with burgers that are simply done, but done simply good with their skillet-seared, home-styled burger that has crispy edges and just the familiar basics that still comes together just right and keeps it manageable. If you want more burger than bun, get at least the double. The onion rings were amazing, and probably the best I've had anywhere, extra crispy with just a hint of sweetness in the breading. The whole place is a time wrap throwback to the old-time carhops. There is only outdoor seating, though it seemed most got their food to go or ate in the car, and when they call for your food you can hear them from pretty much anywhere around their lot. Oct 2023

I just had to try this. I got the large chesse burger, all the ingredients just blend together unusually well for a burger. Get the onion rings, they were crispy and tasty! It’s worth checking out.

In my opinion, there's two ways to "review" a burger.
1. Ask for a plain burger. No fancy toppings, no bacon jam, or avocado sauce. Just a plain burger. Maybe a couple of pickles or a little ketchup.
This approach works particularly well for the "specialty" hamburger restaurants that have a menu full of burgers. If they can't get a basic burger right, the toppings won't fix it. In fact they just cover up the crime.
2. Ask for the house burger, no changes. This would be a burger curated so that the sum of the ingredients is better than the parts, and it's not worth trying to separate them.
This approach is for any restaurant that is not necessarily a burger place, but they have their "special burger." It's also for fast food, fast casual, and other joints that mostly just produce a simple hamburger.
Grandpa's Burger Haven is an Old time hamburger counter that falls into the second category, and their burgers are delicious!
Don't order your ingredients on their hamburger. Go ask for a hamburger. You don't need bacon marmalade, or foie gras to make a delicious hamburger. This place is proof that you can combine simple ingredients to make a delicious burger that's bigger than the sum of its parts.

Delicious! Been wanting to come by here for a while and got the triple steak burger w/cheese and onion rings and everything was just👌. I absolutely love how the burger is large in a wide way, instead of tall. It's unique and makes it much more pleasant to eat than most other huge burgers. Extremely humble (also clean) front and reasonably priced for the portions and quality, and the people are great. 👏👏👏 Feels like you've stepped back in time. Can't wait to try their Philly cheesesteak and chicken fried steak! Thank you for making me happy.

Food is top notch. Old school burger for a very good price. Best burger in Denver. Period. You want something weird go somewhere else and pay 2x-3x the price. Classic burger, fries, shakes. Service was awesome tonight, but it had been very bad in the past. Not even slow, just very rude. This is an absolute must try if you are in the area. Places like this are what denver is missing.

Went there after a long day of work
We needed to feed the kids and a bag of burgers was just what we needed. The food was freshlyade in front of us which was amazing. Friendly and fast service.
Would've given a full five on food if there had been some salt on the fries. The cashier had asked if we wanted salt packets, though forgot to add them to the bag.

Love, love, love grandpa's burger haven! This place has been here since I was a little kid. Same burgers and same shakes! Highly recommend to try them out!

Omg this place is amazing!!! I got the Philly Cheese steak andits so effing delicious. The food is made to order so its nice and fresh. The prices already include the tax so there's no guessing the total here. Glad I stopped will be back for more.

Not going to lie, when I got the burger I was underwhelmed.. but then I bit in and understood all the reviews. No frills, just a classic good hamburger at a great price. Sides are not on the burgers level. Fries were not seasoned and so fried the insides were hollow. There is a galley where people line up to order but no other space inside. They do have a speaker outside to call your number so everyone waited in their car. I saw one table in the parking lot to sit at but it is pretty much an in car or take home meal.

Having only lived in Denver for near 4 years, I had heard about Grandpa's Burger Haven but I had never dined there. I very much doubted the quality! However! Haha I was pleasantly surprised! The joint was clean! The food was on point! Yes the fries were not salted and the burger comes without sauce unless asked for it, but I think that just goes to show that they care! Not everyone can have salty foods, and not everyone likes sauce. 11/10 A great place to grab some grub! Although its not a sit down or a drive thru, Just and order and go perfect for anyone anytime! Did I mention how fast they were?!

The large burger is huge but lacks flavor. All I could really taste was bread and onion. Maybe I’ll try the smaller one next time. A little on the higher priced side for lunch. No bathrooms or wash area.

Second time coming here in a week. Second time and it’s still absolutely delicious. I was nearly in tears when my burger was gone because I wanted another one.
If you’re visiting Denver, or are around the area, definitely worth skipping I-25 and heading down Federal to try.
