I guess this is a bar or is it an escape into an abyss of chill vibes...Eclectic seating and design helps make you forget what's outside the doors you came in from. Staff are so diligent and observant it's as if they my long lost friend trying to reconnect our old fun bonds. Biggest array of possible cocktails in one location and they, yes they are also as delicious as they look.
We both got two tequila creations one made up by the bartender and another on the menu. "The mellow monk" is a delicious upgrade of the classic Mexican mule. Light on the ginger beer and heavy on the flavor. Definitely a must try. If you're looking for a spicy tequila cocktail with a tasteful burn and exotic presentation show them the picture below because I never got a name for it. Didn't come for the food but others seemed to enjoy.
In summary, this is that modern "70s show" basement hangout (minus the smoke), add the happy feels and available playful games and tunes to make this the place to come kick it with old and new friends! *Moms and dads welcome*

Super fun spot with a playful vibe of creating flavorful drinks with personal flair and/or trying the superb BarMax favorites. Meet your friends and play games whilst sipping a summery Lavender Bees Knees. The immediately cozy bar has a friendly and lovely staff, including the owner, Marshall, who made sure all was just right in our drink selection. Highly recommend.

Bar Max was a really cool bar we stopped into after grabbing tacos one night. I loved all the plants around! Kept it feeling cozy. They had large variety of nonalcoholic cocktails which was nice. Not something a lot of places have. I had a regular margarita, & it was pretty good! My friend had the lavender menace. It was similar to a lavender lemonade. She loved it! Staff was great & attentive. They had some cool little games on all the tables which was unique.

Super dope place with relaxed vibe. Real candle light on the table. Good music. The fancy grilled cheese with prosciutto was bombbb and delicious. The owner is super tight. Each drink has its own style of glass. The gin and tonic was superb. The widows kiss was not on the menu but they can whip up what you desire. My friend loves the spicy drink section. The latest happy hour around until 7pm on every day they’re open (Thursday/Friday/Saturday). If you love plants 🌱 get here cuz they’d love your love. There is also a very unique cool toy on every table!!! Come here.

This place is EXCELLENT! I loved the chill music and videos playing in the background, and the section that’s filled with great plants. I sat at the bar and it was cozy with candles and a good vibe. I had the best time chatting with the bartenders, who were all helpful and relaxed. The cocktails are spectacular, the service is exceptional, and the people make Bar Max what it is- a top notch place to go. Will definitely be back!

Bar Max is a total gem in the Denver area. The inside is cozy and stylish, with beautiful plants, cool decor, quirky puzzles, and comfortable seating. This is a fantastic date spot with sweet corners for two, or a great hang out with a community table and bar seating. The drink menu is thoughtful and covers everything from creative cocktails to coffee to tasty non-alcoholic options. Happy hour is good and the staff is super sweet. Inclusive, safe, and community oriented, this bar is a weekly hangout for me and is always a good time.

Came to Bar Max (great name!) to meet up with a couple of friends and was not disappointed. It provided a cozy, intimate and warm atmosphere. The drinks ranged from comforting to sophisticated. They even even served some awesome ice cream, which you could optionally make boozy. Time flew by on a Saturday night and that was helped by the amazingly generous and kind staff, who treated us all like long time friends.
I would recommend anyone to stop in here, as you won't regret it.

Simple yet stylish spot. Bar Max is a gem of a bar with a great cocktail menu. This sweet spot has the feel of a nice little escape and those tend to be my favorite kind of bars. I hope they continue pop ups like their recent hummus pop up (which was fantastic). Already look forward to exploring more of the menu soon!

Bar Max is an excellent bar that I recently visited. I was impressed by the overall atmosphere of the place, which was both comfortable and inviting. The decor was tastefully done, and the lighting was perfect for a relaxing evening out.
The cocktails at Bar Max were simply fantastic. I had the pleasure of trying several different drinks, and they were all expertly crafted using high-quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the classic margarita, which was perfectly balanced and very refreshing.
But what really stood out to me was the bartender, Noelia. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and she made me feel right at home. She was very knowledgeable about the different drinks on the menu, and she was happy to answer any questions I had. Noelia's warm and engaging personality was the perfect complement to the bar's relaxed and friendly vibe.
Overall, I would highly recommend Bar Max to anyone looking for a great bar experience. The cocktails are top-notch, and the atmosphere is perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic evening with someone special. And if you're lucky enough to have Noelia as your bartender, you're in for a real treat!

Found this bar while walking to the botanical gardens. Great find! The cocktails are really good. The happy hour goes 4-7pm. Had the Hopelessly Sinister cocktail because I love scotch. Glad I got it.

What a great spot! Max and Jack were awesome. This place has a perfect neighborhood feel with a chic decor. We had the Mediterranean plate with hummus, veggies and bread. It was delicious! The homemade Sangria was one of the best I've ever had. Max knows his stuff!!! If you are in the area make a point of dropping in. You will not be disappointed!!

After a rammed to the gills drum n base n Kodak ride up from Boulder it was good to drop the sprogs at the Og and chill and mix somewhere more NY neighborhood cool than North Face Fakin’ It. Bar Max combines eye line mirrors with a massive Art Deco mural mixing minimalism and an elevation of retro ephemera to art installation. Good excuse to say “what’s this for?” Into a 60s payphone. Something for everyone with a story behind it all that was less painfully hipster than anything seen for a while. The Manhattans were very much so and the conversation varied and great fun. We will return.

Cafe Max is a real fun surprize hidden away near one of the up and coming sections of Colfax. Small umbrellas outside alert you of this hidden gem near the Tattered Cover area. When you enter the atmosphere of Cafe Max allows you to slip into another era of Cafe, perhaps one that is found in larger cities or tucked into cool historic neighborhoods. We are so lucky here in Denver!!!
