I met a friend at Chook for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t insanely busy at 12:30pm and my friend and I were able to enjoy a long lunch. I had the chicken salad sandwich and absolutely loved it. In fact, before I left, I bought a pint of their chicken salad to bring home. The service team was pleasant and helpful, and the restaurant was clean. I’ll definitely be back!

The chicken is amazing, some of the best chicken I have ever eaten. It is tender and moist and seasoned perfectly. I was very impressed. I also tried the squash, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. I liked the potatoes the best, creamy but thick consistency, nice flavor. I thought the squash should have been cooked more, it was pretty tough. The mac and cheese was fine, it was a bit sour and sharp. I will definitely go back for the chicken and will try out the soup and vegetables next time. While I didn't love all of the sides, I was still impressed with the place.

This place was so nice! Small cafe style place, with cool decor. The curry chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. Service is ridiculously quick, and the staff are all very friendly. Definitely recommended!

I’m obsessed with this spot. Truly haven’t tried something I didn’t really like. Love that I can pick and choose sides of varying healthiness without having to order too much. The chicken noodle soup is SO GOOD! It has taken me 4 years to find a delicious soup for when I’m sick. My only ask would be to sell large containers of it 😂

First visit to Chook. This is an ‘order at the counter and they’ll bring the food to your table’ style restaurant. The woman at the register was very friendly and helpful in guiding us through the menu options. We ordered the avocado sandwich and the BLAT sandwich. Both were excellent. Also got the roasted veggies and potato wedges. Both very good. Prices were good for the quality of the food. Will visit again.

Delicious and beautiful food! Shared a half chicken (leg and breast), the corn, and potato wedges with my friend! Tons of amazing seasonings for any spice tolerance though I must recommend the Macha sauce! The inside is comfortable and has great lighting.

I travel for work and am always excited when I find somewhere healthy to eat! I ordered the Chook For You (single diner) which came with the chicken and a side and was more than enough for one meal. Let the staff recommend the side if you are unsure. I had a glass of the house white and my meal was perfect. I couldn't make up my mind on a sauce so the counter guy said he would pick some for me to try. Folks seated nearby had salads and I'll try that next. Everything was extremely fresh and the atmosphere is soft and easy. You order at the counter and they deliver to the table you choose. Parking is a pain (hello city life) but just ask a local on the street and they will tell you pull up to a curb. While you're there, wander in the bookstore down the street.

I would highly recommend Chook, this is by far the best restaurant on Pearl Street. We got the whole chicken with three sides and it was a perfect amount of food for the two of us. I can’t say enough about the atmosphere and the service was exceptional. I love the farmhouse feel of this restaurant. This is our new favorite place on Pearl St and we will highly recommend Chook to friends.

This was delicious!!! Sad I haven't come sooner. The avocado chicken sandwich was incredible. Juicy, tasty and so filling. Small place, but enough seating. Place got full quickly. There's a kids section with coloring things and books. Wine and draft beer served here.

Was so happy to find this place! I was attempting to return some reusable containers we got from DeliverZero for take out at another place and this restaurant accepts those containers to be returned. We were there to try out the food because the menu looked really good. had the Choook for You and the chicken curry sandwich as well as margarita. First off. They do a FANTASTIC job eliminating single use plastics. All utensils, dishes and cups are reused. They have a water dispenser that you can get your own water. Not only was the food delicious I felt so great eating in a place that is doing good by the environment. The place is small but so cozy it feels like a neighborhood joint. If you order take out, you have the option of paying just $1 for the whole order to get the DeliverZero containers and then just return them in 3 weeks so you don't get charged. We will be eating here regularly!

Mac & Cheese was great. Thick creamy sauce/cheese. Every bite was flavorful and delicious. Big enough portions to share and be super satisfied. Chicken was juicy and tasty. Squash isn't something I eat a lot or like as a go to dinner item, but the Roasted Delicata Squash was a solid choice and surprisingly good.

The food and service here is very good. The vegetable sides are amazing and could be ordered by them selves as a meal. It was only their seconed day and they were very busy. Seating was at a premium and being dinner hour, people were not in a hurry to give up their tables. You order at the counter and then the food is brought to your table. It took about 10 minutes for our food to arrive after placing our order. We ended up sharing a table with another couple. In actually 2 other couples since the adjacent table was close enough for all of us to carry on a conversation. This was actually great. We made some new friends and shared our sides which gave us a chance to taste items from the menus that we didn't order. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the soft drinks. I drink a lot of tea and my only glass was about 10oz. They have water cups and carafes on the counter so I ended up drinking about 3 of them instead.

Hands down, best chicken in town. The service was phenomenal. We tried their smashed potatoes, mac&cheese, and their fresh cucumber salad. The smashed potatoes and the cucumber salad were delicious (10/10). The mac&cheese wasn't our favorite (7/10).

Nice, quaint vibe with impressive chicken! Didn't take any photos, but the roasted vegetables were amazing, the chicken was phenomenal, and I tried chimichurii for the first time, which was incredible! Highly recommend for a nice protein packed, tasty lunch!

We got takeout during restaurant week fall 2020. The food was excellent even as takeout. The squash was fantastic and the veggies were super tasty. We tried both the light and dark meat and both were awesome. The puripuri sauce is fantastic. Would totally recommend. The happy pots of mixed drinks were very tasty even still in the jar. We would happily go again and again. Totally superior chicken!

I wanna give it 3 but the goddess salad and the gravy have me feeling gracious. To be honest, their chicken is kind of boring to me. I get the dinner for two and just eat the sides and make chicken salad out of the chicken the next day 🤷🏻 The mashed potatoes are good permitting they haven’t run out at 6:45 on a Tuesday night. The gravy is really the only sauce you should concern yourself with. I’ve tried the others and they’re okay. Peri peri tastes like how gym socks smell. Chimichurri was a nice attempt but so boring. Anyways, that gravy. So good. Goddess salad is so strange but I crave it. Not even sure what all the ingredients are, don’t really care. It’s probably the furthest thing from a salad but good god is it tasty. Mac n cheese? Good. It’s a little pricey for one but I get the two pack and I get 2.5 meals out of it. Maybe 3.5 since I make chicken salad with the meat. They have beer, and the gal at the corner lets me sample the seasonal ones which is nice. My biggest gripe here honestly is the lack of sweet tea. I seldom drink alcohol but will treat myself to a beer now and then. But what kind of chicken shop, that features “Your mamas gravy” on their menu, doesn’t give me the option to wash the gravy down with her sweet tea? I’m not talking any “local organic blah blah blah” or “we can add simple syrup to it”. I’m talking diabetic episode inducing, Luzianne brand brewed right into the sugar so it dissolves and stirred until it’s foaming up top. Get with it chook.

Grub- 4 Service- 4 Vibe- 4 Price- 4 This is not your everyday rotisserie chicken… the flavor is ubsurdly delicious. Mash and gravy are a very nice compliment. Only problem was portions, make sure you get a little more.
