I attended the Colorado Technical University 2023 Graduation at this facility. The facility is very, very nice. There is more than enough space to hold multiple events. There was also a tattoo show taking place. I had the opportunity to walk around a little bit after the graduation and there was just so much space everywhere and multiple levels. This was definitely an excellent selection to have a graduation as well as the other multiple upcoming events that I saw posted.
Big wide open spaces just like you would expect out of a convention center. There is coffee and snacks in the middle towards the front door. It wasn’t open when I was there. Even the ballrooms are fairly decent size and the convention center and self has multiple halls that are large.
Overall: 4.00. Neatly groomed and well-maintained venue in the heart of downtown Denver near the capital (see pics). Good views from floor & balconies. Like ability to pre-order beverages & snack options for initial pickup & intermission. Lots of bathroom options. Parking garage needs better signage. At night, it’s dark & poorly lit making it feel unsafe.
Hosts lots of amazing events.
It is also very close to lots of public transportation.
The problem lies with how the events are set up for entry. No matter what event I have been to the entries are always confusing and lines tend to be long, especially at the fan expo.
Cell reception can be spotty inside. Food varies based on specific event.
Banquet rooms are always clean and bathrooms are nice.
Firstly my experience was the Fan Expo. Great experience overall hence the 5 stars.
But, the staff that worked the expo could be more knowledgeable about the stalls and what are on sale. I asked 2 staff members the same question and both didn't have an answer for me.
However, I didn't feel this was enough to knock it down to 4 stars. All staff were extremely friendly and willing to help.
This place is huge! Overall, I had a great experience when talking with staff and navigating through the building. There are shortcuts if you ask where they are, lol. 😅 Went for PsySci23 and was blown away by all of the beautiful art. I volunteered in the Deep Space area and couldn't have been happier. The exhibits were pretty informative, and it's interesting to see where we are in this wave, but still have to say the best part of the experience was in the immersive art. 🙂
Still one of the coolest locations for conventions. I go to a lot of the nerdy ones but I really enjoy how large the venue is. The one downside is that cell service is none existent during these events. I mean you can't call, text, Google, basically anything while you are there. Other than that very nice location.
Great venue. MAPS should have considered the size of the meeting rooms given 11k in attendance. Many people were licensed providers who wanted to hear the science. Standing room only in the halls seemed like a fire risk. Several people just gave up on hearing the speakers who counted for credit. I think the Convention Center is lovely. The organizers needed to take into account the audience.
This convention center is huge. I visited for a work conference. Wear good walking shoes. There is a cute convenient store that has some essentials if you've forgotten anything. The surrounding area is highly walkable.
I really wanted to see the giant blue bear, and it is just amazing, so cute, like it's looking for some food inside the convention center 😋
