We have been waiting for this place to open for SOOOOO long (we moved into the neighborhood over a year and a half ago and this place was under renovation since then). We are so excited that this place now exists in our neighborhood! We came on a Friday night (the first Friday they were open). When we got here, we were stopped at the door. We were told that the place was at capacity in relation to code, so that we'd have to wait a few minutes. We ended up only having to wait 5-10 minutes (not bad) before we went inside. The inside looks awesome -- it's open, has big windows, and is all nice and newish looking. The set-up is a fancy dining hall kind of vibe: they suggest you grab a table first before sending up one person in your party to order drinks at the bar or order food in the dining line. That sort of operation is okay in my book (not necessarily a pro or a con). This is one of those places that has compostable, one time use plates. We got drinks first. The bar had an impressive beer selection and a nice display on screens of everything they had on tap. After beers, we put in our food order. The line was long, but moved pretty quickly. After you order, you are given a buzzer so that you know when to come back up and get your food. Despite being pretty busy, the turnaround time on food was pretty quick. We ordered two things: the Ricotta & Arugula Salad (sans meat) and the Pineapple Express pizza (sans bacon). The salad was good, but we felt like $10 was pretty pricey for a relatively small salad -- it would NOT have been enough as a main course for either of us. We opted for a 16" pizza and I was glad we did. It was a decent size, but we would be able to polish it off between two of us on a night with a moderately sized appetite. Overall our experience was pretty good. There were a few things that made this a four star, rather than five star experience for us. The first was the size of the salad. The second was the set-up of the place. While it was new looking and pretty cool, there were a few touches that felt like they didn't consider how the 'flow' would work. The prime example: there are a few trees planted inside throughout the restaurant. A couple of these are directly in the walking path to get from one part of the restaurant to the other. Besides making the place pretty inaccessible for someone in a wheelchair, it was a nuisance for guests and staff -- once we noticed, we couldn't help but laugh as we watched everyone duck around the trees. The other thing like this was a weird decorative lamp in the bathroom hanging directly over the urinal. I'm not a tall guy, but hit my head on it; you kind of had to tilt out of the way of this thing if you wanted to actually use the urinal. The last thing was actually the bathroom. The men's bathroom was in pretty bad shape when were were there -- there were paper towels everywhere, including in the lamp, the urinal, and all over the floor. I might expect that at a fast food joint, but was surprised it was an issue on opening weekend here. Overall, this was a good experience -- we're excited for the new addition to the neighborhood and will definitely be back.

As an employee, I am very pleased with Earnest Hall. They clearly care about us and I feel respected as an individual. On my first day, the things that I needed to know were explained clearly and thoroughly. I am also able to vouch for the cleanliness of the restaurant itself. As a customer, the food is also very good. I feel the prices are good for the food quality, quantity, and service. The garlic knots and various pizzas are delicious, both to go and dine in, and I have not disliked any of the desserts. The family that has visited thus far has not had any complaints (that they have told me about) and seem to enjoy themselves. While I am not of drinking age, I will say that the cocktails are beautiful and sitting at the bar watching our bartenders make them is a wonderful sight. The coffee bar is also a nice touch, and the espresso has a wonderful taste for all different drinks. All in all, I am very pleased both as an employee and paying customer.

Wide open airy space. Beer selection was solid and new counter service seemed to work well in the space. Will give a 5 star review as I visit and try more things.

The new Earnest Hall has a great modern atmosphere while keeping the original traditional vibe of the previous iterations. All of the items our group ordered were delicious and the service was excellent. The pizza was cooked perfectly and had quality ingredients that tasted great (the honey chipotle red sauce is highly recommended). The only (small) knock we have is that the pizza seemed to be light on the toppings. Nothing major, we will definitely be back!

We ordered take out - which they brought to the car. First time trying them again since they reopened. Pizza and side of meatballs took less than 15 minutes, very quick. Pizza, which was always good, has gotten better. Crust and sauce were spot on. Meatballs seem to have a different texture than we remembered (not as soft), but the flavor was very good. Glad to have them back - looking forward to checking out the new format.

Me and my boyfriend have been coming here for a few months. The people are so nice and friendly. But on this particular visit I made the mistake when ordering the pizza online (you know technology is hard sometimes). When they noticed that we had made the mistake they offered to remake it for free. I mean the mistake was completely mine and mine alone and they still went above and beyond to correct my mistake. We can’t wait for this pandemic to be over so we can experience their restaurant fully. And can we talk about this food. I literally tell everyone how good it is! Thank you for everything!

We have anxiously been awaiting the opening of Earnest Hall. We had our first drink and meal there tonight. The food was good! And so are the cocktails and beer selection. My Happy Hour gin & tonic, was "clean" and tasty. For food, I ordered the Italian Wings. I wasn't sure what "Italian Wings," would be, but totally enjoyed them! They were moist and flavorful, with a true Italian flavor, and the gorgonzola blue cheese dipping sauce was delicious! We loved how bright and welcoming the new decor is, and the staff are delightful and super friendly. Earnest Hall is a great addition to our Sunnyside neighborhood. We look forward to hitting them up for coffee!

This place is back and better than ever! Unfortunately for me I didnt get a chance to order until the pandemic had shut down indoor eating. We ordered meatballs and 2 pizzas last week and it was so great I ordered the extact same meal 3 days later for Mother's Day. I recommend the Italian Stallion and The Big cheese is perfect for kids but not just your regular cheese pizza so the adults will scarf it down too. The staff could not handle things more perfectly, I'll be happy to support them by eating as much of their pizza as I can.
