Where do I start? This place is a combination of history, a family business, good eats/drinks, and nostalgia all rolled into one. Went here as a party of six on a Saturday evening and was seated without any wait. We ordered two pizzas and a family-size Caesar salad, which took about 15 minutes to reach out table. Laid-back atmosphere, friendly service, a kitschy, 50s/60s feel on the interior, seats and tables, big bar, and pretty decent prices for food - hard to go wrong! Limited number of parking spaces along the University Blvd side of the restaurant, which are also shared with the laundry/dry cleaning store next door. Recommended!
Hadn't been here for 34 years. It's still the same...great food, friendly and prompt service, and it was great to revisit. Get here before it disappears forever! We had pizza, onion rings, beer on tap. All exactly like we last had 34 years ago, and perfect. Thanks Bonnie Brae Pizza!
The staff here is awesome, the waiter we had (who I believe is one of the owners?) gave us useful suggestions and took the time to talk to me about the beyond burger. His recommendations were good. I loved their onion rings, some of the best I've ever had. And their Italian sausage slider was delicious. Fries and cheeseburger slider were decent. The burger was slightly more charred than I would have preferred. I got just the right amount of food too, which doesn't happen often at most places.
This place is a special little spot. It is one of those great diners from back in the day. With Turquoise booths and friendly staff this place is an awesome dinner and brunch spot. Dinner menu has all the diner favorites, including Mexican, American and Italian fare. The carrot cake was a delicious end to our meal.
Great place and staff even though they are way too busy. The place is closing after nearly nine decades so hurry in before the 25th of June. They say their delicious pizza is the very best pizza in Denver.
We got a large Bonnie Brae House Special to takeout, and as always, their Pizza is amazing!!! It was loaded with generous amounts of Sausage, Pepperoni, Ground Beef, Black and Green Olives, Onions, Green Peppers with a little kick, and Shrimp, with lots of Mozzarela Cheese . The crust is thin and crispy, and it was perfectly cooked, as always! This is no chain pizza, when only the best will do. It was ready when we got there, a few minutes before they said it would be ready! Can't wait for the next one Tomorrow Night to share with our Son and his family. My Dad has been a customer since the '40s.
Super nice diner! Has such a warm atmosphere and the food is fantastic. Matt was our server, he was awesome and made our visit very memorable. He made sure we were taken care of and was super fast when we needed anything. The chips were warm and delicious. The pizza was so cheesy and looked like it was straight out of a commercial! Super yummy and fresh.
I don't even know where to start. When I was a little kid my mother worked here and they had the best pizza I've ever had. Fast forward about 30 years now grown I made it back to Denver with my husband and this was the first place we went. My husband loves the pizza and said it was the best he has ever had, and that is saying a lot as he is from New York. Now just too day my kids are traveling with my Aunt and I told her she had to take them there. They also loved the pizza, but I was told today by my family that they are closing down after all this time. I'm sad that after all this time they are closing and my youngest son will not get the opportunity to have their pizza. I'm said so many memory. Even though have not stayed in Dever in almost 26 years this place will remain with me forever. I wish they would be around for many generations to come.
I was surprised when I looked at the menu and they had vegan cheese pizza! I went with my non-vegan friend and we loved it! Absolutely delicious, and the restaurant still had that old-fashioned diner look, which was cute. Will definitely be coming back.
Bonnie Brae is the best! Great pizza, service and atmosphere. I've been coming here for over 40 years, so sad that they are closing their doors for good-this economy is so tough! Happy I got one more visit in before that happened.
Great pizza at this long standing tavern. Very much has a neighborhood vibe. My brother loved the big plate of fries. The cookies were not as good as we hoped. Great if you want that 1950s tavern atmosphere.
Had to have one last meal before 88 yr old Bonnie Brae Tavern is closed on 6/25/22. MY late Mom started enjoying this restaurant as student at Denver University back in late 1930s and 1940s. End of an Era and just as great as I remembered throughout my lifetime. Sad to see this go. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.
The BBT has been part of my family for nearly 70 years. I'm a third generation patron and love everything about it. It has been owned and operated by the same family since it opened. I'm treated as family each time I go in.
The white pizza is legendary, flawless in every aspect. So many delicious things on the menu. Don't miss ordering the onion rings or viewing the amazing collection of photos and memorabilia on the walls.
Still classic and delicious! Some of the best pizza in town. My grandpa was coming here in the 40s. First time he took us that I could remember was in the mid 90s. Hadn't been here in a long time & still the same. Thanks for the memories & great pizza!
Amazing joint with great onion rings! Our server was so fun and simply fantastic. She made the experience even better. Highly recommend the crispy Buffalo ckn salad.
Been going here 30 years. Consistently some of the very best pizza in Denver. Used to be you couldn't get in the door, but now lines I rarely long. Great for me. Too bad for anyone who hasn't yet discovered it's great old school Bar and Restaurant.
I just love coming here. It has an "Old Denver" feel. It never feels rushed or hurried, and the service is always excellent. Drinks are perfectly mixed and food has never failed to arrive exactly as ordered. With a mixed menu, there's just about something for everyone. Generous portions and affordable prices.
The pizza here is delicious. We usually go here for family gatherings and the staff are usually very positive. The only downside is there our limited parking spaces sometimes. Although, this is a great restaurant by far compared to other pizzerias.
