Review Cafe Mercato - Denver

Have been here twice and all of the food has been delicious. First time we went the service was on the slow side but we received our appetizers and drinks within a reasonable time. Second time we dined (this week), the poor service unfortunately detracted from the meal. We were not seen for the first 10 minutes after being seated and did not receive our appetizer until about 45 minutes after ordering it. Hiring more staff would potentially help make an otherwise great restaurant better!

The food was delicious. Service was lovely. But the portions for the price were underwhelming. I may be a purist but no Italian restaurant should be charging $6 for a few tiny slices of bread and olive oil. We split a salad and pasta dish between 2 people and expected a bit more food for what we were paying. Like I said, all very delicious though!

The deserts here are good and drinks are strong! I love the tiramisu. Staff were excellent and atmosphere is on point. Good time

The meatballs! You have to try this place. Went during lunch and they did have a lunch menu. It was very quiet in the restaurant and our server was very good. Everyone at the table said their food was delicious, but the homemade meatballs in the gravy were to die for. I will definitely have to come back during dinner time.

Excellent food and good service. Will add to the monthly dine out list for sure! The Lasagna is amazing. A slice of bread with the entrees would be great, but no complaints at all, arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. Bravo!

Review Time!! Went local for dinner.. this amazing Italian Restaurant is hidden and has never been a disappointment!!! When we want a fancy dinner and have a reason to splurge we come here! This place is Michelin Star worthy! Romatic vibe, indoors lit up by the fire brick oven and candles on every table. Indoor/Outdoor open concept onto their lovely out door patio. Neighborhood locals all over, walking to the across Biergarten, Airplane Museum or Ice Cream Shop and renting a Tandem bike riding around. Great vibe!! Our waiter Matt was so personable and hilarious. His customer service was impeccable! Time for the food: We both decided to try something new this time, but my reason for going here is the memorable Gnocchi. I would drive hours to get this if I lived far. Best I've ever had! However, We started with a Bottle of Pinot Grigio ($44) and Bread w/Basalmic & Oil ($8). For Entreès We ordered the Braised Short Rib Ravioli in a Crimini Mushroom sauce ($24) and MY GOD if I ever imagined heaven in my mouth this IS IT!! We also ordered the Cioppino ($28) the brothy tomato sauce was so delicious, seafood so fresh and cooked to perfection. Nothing chewy or over cooked. Muscles, Clams, Octopus, Calamari, Shrimp and Fish danced in this broth with homemade spaghetti noodles. BOTH dishes so so so GOOD!! As if I could eat more, we finished with the Crème Brûlèe ($9).. BEST CELEBRATION DINNER EVER!!!! Thank you to our waiter Matt for making it a great experience!!

This place ROCKS. Outstanding all around. Our waiter Gustavo was amazing. Great menu selection and reasonable prices. Grab a seat in front of the prep area/kitchen to see all the action and ingredients come alive. Some seriously talented chefs are at work!!

First time dining here and it will not be my last! A friend brought me here for the seafood. My salmon was awesome! And I've been thinking about the crème brûlee ever since. Would highly recommend.

Everything had a lot of flavor! We didn't get dessert because they were out of cannoli and cheesecake(kinda wish I had ordered the tiramisu now). Will definitely be back!

Meals were delicious! Lil timing issue with delivery, potatoes were a lil colder than I would have wanted. Delicious sauce, so tasty I wouldn't send it back.

Best Italian food in Denver hands down. Staff is kind and knowledgeable and the food is 10/10. Tastes authentic and is freshly made. The wait for food can be a little long but it is WELL worth the wait. Don’t forget to leave a little room for dessert too.

I've been in several times so I wish I'd written a review sooner! The food and service at this restaurant are equally exceptional. The pasta is fresh and delicious - the eggplant dishes are my favorites but I really enjoy everything I've had so far. The hostess and server (Jean and Aliyah) during lunches are so incredibly kind and while the food is wonderful, the service keeps me coming back (I have experience as a personal chef and know how to make some of these dishes at home, although there's just something about the atmosphere that makes everything taste better). Please thank your staff for the amazing experiences they help to create - your kindness is valued. This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots to eat and I'll definitely be back! (PS-please add a vegetarian/seafood dish with cream sauce for lunch time, I don't always get the chance to come here for dinner.)
