Review Chef Zorba's Cuisine - Denver

Food was good, no problem. Service needs more experienced staff or to better train existing staff to get a better rating from me. Young man, who was our waiter, was too casual to be good. After my salad accompanying my entree came out, eaten and taken away, waiter came over asking if we wanted dessert! We hadn't even gotten our entrees yet. He was not very attentive. A good plus is that our water glasses were kept full, we didn't have to ask, which is how it should be.

Good food and great service for a pick-up. Breakfast burrito is absolutely amazing. I’m also impressed with a ton of selections for dessert.

Great diner that was able to satisfy my hangry gf. The server was very knowledgeable on Celiac's disease, and able to point out what was gluten free on the menu for my girlfriend. I got the French dip w/ fries. It was a classic diner French dip. My girlfriend got a BLT on a gluten free bun. She said it was tasty. They have an IPA of the day for each day.

Delicious food and very good service. The food was very good from start to finish. The lentil soup of the day, the hummus plate, the gyros plate and the banana pudding were all excellent 👌.

I had lunch at this cute place and ordered the gyro plate. It was good but I wished I had ordered something with more vegetables. The best part was the wedding cookie for dessert. Nice atmosphere and easy street parking within a block.

1st time visit and I was favorably impressed with the food. For a Monday night I was surprised at how busy it was. My choice was the pork chops along with a Greek salad, and their chicken lemon rice soup...followed by the three layer chocolate cake... Yes, I ate it all and it was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Update: Feb 2023 Dinner fare this time. After much back and forth between the Moussaka and Pork chops, the meat won and no regrets. Delicious and have to make special mention of their mashed potatoes which, I hardly ever touch but, this got me! Hubby got the Gyro Plate 👍. Sadly, they were out of Rice puddings. (Another reason for going back.) Instead got: Wedding cookie - sorry, but I found it too dry. Blueberry muffin was 👍. First visit on a weekday, noon. Luckily, no wait as table available. A lot of diners and continuous in and out of diners during our visit. Ordered: Pancakes Eggs Gyro Plate (with the Lemon Chicken and Rice soup & Mac n Cheese as side) Huge serving of pancakes and eggs that even my hubby couldn't finish it all. Same is true for my Gyro Plate that I had some of the meat to go. Have to make special mention of the Lemon Chicken and Rice soup....SUPERB! If anything else, I 'd go back to Zorba's for that! Saying that, it does not in any way, lessen the rating of the other food I had. The Mac n Cheese and the Gyro was 👌 as well. As we were really full but was not going to miss out on the bakery items, we also got to-go of their: Bread Pudding Rice Pudding Baklava and 1 other similar to the Baklava but with a different filling. The staff couldn't really tell us it's name as she herself claimed, they have a nickname for it. Well, we have devoured the 2 puddings and I personally ❣️ the Rice pudding while my husband ❣️ the Banana pudding. Will get to the Baklava and the other one later. Service is friendly and fast. The atmosphere is casual and homey. DEFINITELY recommend a visit! Only regret is not being able to taste the Moussaka and the Pork Chop which, we will definitely have on our next visit for dinner. Will definitely visit soon!

I love this place, and what a treat to see it alive and well post pandemic. The remodeling treated the joint wonderfully. Great spot for a low-key meal and friendly staff.

Ava, our waitperson, was sooo nice. The gyros were excellent and the chicken lemon rice soup was incredible. Great place to stop for a bite.

Wonderful service & food! This is a great neighborhood spot for brunch! Service is friendly, quick and helpful. Food is delicious and they are willing to customize dishes to fit dietary requirements. I got the breakfast burrito and they were willing to make it gluten free and vegetarian. Highly recommend!

Came back to this wonderful Greek restaurant within a short walk from the Denver Botanical Gardens on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Party of thte and we were seated at the counter without any wait. Love the remodel of the interior, although we miss the pics of Greece that were there before. Same good food, decent prices and friendly staff. Love this place! Oh, and they're serving dinner again! Highly recommended and we Will be back soon!

If you like breakfast, anytime, Zorba is your jam! I know it is certainly mine. Established in 1979 Chef Zorba’s restaurant is a quaint and delectable establishment, nestled in the tiny business district on E. 12th Ave., The appeal for me is the atmosphere! Friendly and attentive and truly heart warming. With street side patio seating, comfy inside booths and front row barstools! A very special way to embrace Denver. I highly recommend visiting! Robust flavors well defined with American and Greek burgers salads and sandwiches! What about the infamous Gyro’s? Oh they have ‘em! And of course the tzatziki sauce is on point. Don’t take my word for it. Oh my goodness, I almost forgot, how dare me! They have the most delicious baklava, of which is honey glazed. A sticky sweet treat, that you will most certainly become very fond of! I also saw on the menu Greek beers, wines and suggested favorites bloody Mary’s and mimosas. Get in there as soon as you can and enjoy!

Delicious gyro omelet and waffle. Our server was kind enough to make my irish coffee extra Irish (clearly, he could see I was in need!), and the weather was perfect for sitting outside. It was a lovely meal!

Wow! I haven't been in since the remodel. It's amazing. Lots of booths, still great treats, and now with a great patio out front. Same owner with the same great service and homestyle food that's good for the soul. Gluten free toast!

Wonderful, friendly neighborhiod place. Great breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, and soups. Their specials, including the soupsnif the day, are always satisfying. The staff is energetic and fun. I come here often and haven't had a bad experience yet.

I had the unusual breakfast, that was the name of the dish, with pepper jack and gyro meat. Came with a side of creamy sauce and all was perfect. Husband had basic scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. He enjoyed all. Wait staff great, tough friendly gal that made some conversation. Heard conversation from locals that they had made several updates. The place was super cute with pics of the restaurants past which added character. I loved the colors and design.

Fantastic restaurant! Lots of breakfast and lunch options. I went for the French Dip and it was delicious! The service was fast and friendly. They have some great bakery items in the front that I’ll try next time. Stop here for some great food, comfortable seating, and great service.

Definitely the best gyros in town. I’ve been coming here off and on for some time, and the experience is always spot on. Take out is quick and actually the same serving portion as dine in, which seems to be rare nowadays. Food is always solid, from breakfast to lunch to dinner. Gyros all day baby. Staff is pleasant and attentive, they seem to be happy working here and it shows. Burger is fine, not the best, not the worst. Wouldn’t come here for the burgers though. Get the gyro breakfast platter or the sandwich. Bonus: darn good and spot on avgolemono soup, hits the spot every time and I always get a bowl no matter the time of day. Man, I want some now.
