Review Morton's The Steakhouse - Denver

Robert Fox
My friend enjoys happy hour so we thought we'd check out Morton's version. It was the evening of Halloween and the traffic was ferocious. It took over 30 minutes to make what is normally a ten minute drive and we were grumpy by the time we arrived at the restaurant. The hostess was very welcoming and led us to the bar area which consists of a long, beautifully lighted bar plus lots of seating at high tables. Miriam immediately greeted us and was charming, knowledgeable, efficient, funny, and helpful throughout the evening. Our moods were improved at once. We tried the house brand (Pebble Lane) cabaret and pinot noir. The pinot was particularly good, full-bodied and fruit forward with a pleasant finish. We both continued to drink that. We tried many of the happy hour (Power Hour) food items including the tuna poke, petite filet mignon sandwiches, prime cheeseburgers, and the quail knots. Everything was delicious. The tuna was high-quality and was served on cucumber rounds with avocado and wonton chips. The filet mignon sandwiches had a tasty mustard mayonnaise and were on a sesame bun. The cheeseburgers came on cute "silver dollar" rolls with lettuce, tomato, and onion. The quail knots were an unexpectedly meaty, twisted leg and thigh with "tiger" sauce and micro greens. This was one of the best happy hours we've tried. Good food and a nice variety, great wine, a beautiful, calming setting, and a fantastic server. All of the prices were very, very reasonable. My only complaint is that the bar does have televisions and the volume was on, although not obtrusively loud, but I would have preferred silence and closed captioning.

Great place for a special occasion. They really made our wedding anniversary special. Great food. Even put on names on the menu.

The food is phenomenal. Fun, creative drinks. Happy hour is great! Service is spectacular! Everyone is so friendly and nice. Never had anyone rude to me in the three years coming here. Shout out to Ethan the most generous manager I've met. He goes out of his way to make sure you are having a great experience. You gotta try this place.

Great happy hour drinks and food. I had three many burgers and they were amazing. Highly recommended.

From entering and having our coats put away, to the food, the staff, and the decor, it was amazing. You aren’t rushed, the meal is an experience. The staff genuinely look happy. The food is divine. Damn if they can’t make a good cocktail. It felt almost magical. I thought Christmas was going to be a little sad for my husband and I, having just moved to a new city. After dining here, I’m glad we had the opportunity to experience Morton’s. Thank you for a night to remember.

I love this place and Denver is better than the one in Honolulu Hawaii. I found it had better steak consistently. Ask when making reservations to add the name of person if Celebrations for Birthday or Anniversary to Menu. I love surprising people and see their name on the menu with a celebratory statement! I love the setting and service.

Terrific service and food, I highly recommend for special occasions or anything else if the budget allows. I went there for an anniversary, and the staff we're very friendly and congratulatory. I got the prime rib eye, and my wife got the cold seafood platter. Both were top notch and prepared without flaw. Free dessert was just an added perk.

As my kids were with their mom and my girlfriend's daughters were out of town we found ourselves alone on Thanksgiving so we opted to visit Morton's for dinner. Made reservations a couple of days in advance and when we arrived we were seated quickly. Drinks were excellent, the steaks were cooked perfectly and desert was amazing according to my girlfriend. Service was just the right amount of care and attention.

I had a bad experience with Morton's and initially rated my experience one star. However, the manager reached out to me with a sincere apology. Since I have been to this restaurant in the past without issue. I am giving them three stars for now until my next visit to determine if my experience improves or to see if this location is just no longer a classy place to dine for those of us who enjoy a great night out. I will give my final review of this restaurant soon. Please view this post again to see an update. This is an update from my original review: I recently visited Morton's again to see if my experience would be better and to my surprise it was! The staff was very accommodating this time and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restuarant. The one other thing I would add is if you experience any issues... bring them to the managers attention immediately because he will absolutely get them addressed.

The property management at my apartments hosted a happy hour here and it was a great time! The cocktails were good (and actually strong which is hard to find) and the little appetizers they passed around was some of the best food I've ever had. I'm taking a star off because it's such a fancy/expensive place that I don't think I would go there unless it was a hosted event such as the happy hour was.

New location downtown and renovation has made it feel more modern. Food is always great, we enjoy steaks and lamb often. Try cauliflower mash for a very tasty side dish. Service is top notch as well. Only minor complaint is that with the new layout it's a bit more open and can be a little loud depending on the night.

I can't believe how lovely dinner was at Morton's Steakhouse. The service was exceptional and friendly. The staff carried a celebratory mood without going overboard. The food, from the butter to the main dish, was top-notch. I recommend the Brussels sprouts side-dish if you are a fan. We went for our anniversary. They really made our day feel special; so much so that I feel the need to run onto Google Reviews and give them a five-star review in gratitude.

Loved celebrating our 45th Anniversary at such a wonderful place. From the time we walked in everyone was so devoted to providing the best dining experience. The food was perfectly prepared and the service was exceptional. Highly recommend Morton’s for any occasion. We will return sooner next time, we last dined here 17 years ago celebrating our parents 50th Anniversary!

The Oysters were fresh! The bacon wrapped scallops were huge! Service was incredible and Joe the GM was very accommodating. Our 5 top stopped in for dinner, gorgeous restaurant. If you want something special get the 10oz American wagyu steak. Split a shot of Louis XIII with a friend! So worth it

Terrible...1.placed near the busy kitchen entrance even though we saw a half empty restaurant when we arrived at 6:35 2. The steak was (charred over cooked (ordered medium) and lobster bisque was awful (strange tasting) 3. To top it off the waitress made some lame excuse to overcharge for the salad 🥗... long of the short she credited the $3 for lobster bisque surcharge but charged for salad! Why not just take bisque charge off and include salad with Restaurant Week inclusion!!! Never again... Del Frisco’s Parry’s and The Keg make this place look like McDs!!!

My husband and I ate dinner here tonight. I would recommended just skipping this place as a whole. Way too many inconsistencies from the food, service and quality that it's not worth the gamble or the money if you want a nice date night out. Ordered a New York strip and when presented at our table, you could smell the burned meat. Not a char or grill smell- literally burned. The steak was rare yet burned. That's pure lack of skill. I have had better steaks at Chili's. same with my husband's bone in prime rib steak. There was blood in the juices meaning they didn't even let it rest. We eat at quite a few nice restaurants and shocked they could even serve a steak like that. No one checked when they were presenting it which is also shocking. The table next to us had servers apologizing left and right multiple times due to cooking errors. What is more disappointing is that there were only 4 tables! They weren't overly busy. It just shows the inexperience of the staff. With that being said as well, it took 25 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered a soufflé for dessert which was the best looking thing we had seen all night. Excited to see it and eat it and the sever doesn't even show us it. He cuts into it 5 feet away from us. We like to see and appreciate what we are eating. Tasted like it did not set up judging way how it tasted and looked once on our plate Morton's used to be amazing. My husband and I went here a couple years ago when we were dating. We were drooling all day for an amazing dinner here and we were severely disappointed. If you want a good steak and nice dinner, don't go here

The service was great. Had the beef rib and the meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork. It fell off the bone! Saved room for the key lime pie which was excellent. The service personnel were outstanding.

Somewhat Limited Menu Morton's The Steakhouse has its roots in Illinois. Founded in 1978, Morton's of Chicago was the birth child of Arnie Morton and Klaus Fritsch. I guess ole Arnie had a better surname than Klaus. Today, Morton's has more than 70 steak restaurants in the U.S. and abroad. The ambiance at Morton's The Steakhouse is a tad bipolar. The dark lighting and décor skew toward a mature audience, however the trendy, upbeat music leans more toward a Gen Y crowd. Atmosphere aside, the menu is somewhat limited, but the food is very good. The constricted cuisine ranges briefly from beef to fish, however there are plenty of options within that spectrum. I recently had the Center-Cut Filet Mignon. It was among the tenderest of cuts that I have ever eaten - very tasty, yet a bit over-seasoned. The pricing is very reasonable. All-in-all, Morton's The Steakhouse is well worth your time and money. Enjoy!
