Fantastic little spot for food and drink! 1930's Era bar adds a lot of character to the place. Had the elk burger and Mac and cheese - off the chart good! Full service bar, with plenty of options. Bartender Kelly was super friendly and very attentive. Excellent food, excellent service!!! Definitely recommend.

The brussel sprouts were delicious!! They were perfectly crispy and the sauce was really good. The tempura chicken avocado sandwich I got sounded waaayyyy better on the menu than it actually was. It was flavorLESS. None at all. If the chicken patty had some sort of flavor, I think it would have been good. The sweet potato fries were some of my fave. My husband got the bison burger and it was good, wierd, bad, crazy, amazing, and different. Those are words we actually used to describe it. I think everyone should try it at least once. The mac and cheese was okay. The lemon drop drink was okay too. Not the best we've had, but not the worst either. I wasn't a fan of the vibe inside either. However, we would definitely go back again, but just for the brussel sprouts.

Craved a really good steak stopped in here during the early afternoon. The staff was so kind to share thier recommendations ordered the ribeye with blue cheese butter and the fried Brussel sprouts with a sweet and sour sauce. I enjoyed my drink at an over 120 year old bar from a historic opera house and enjoyed every bite of my meal. It was a lovely afternoon overall. My only criticism would be the bartender was not super attentive with an empty bar, so I moved to a table near the window and there were a sock and "mud" on the outside awning and it was a little slow had a sleepy vibe but the hostess was a Jem. I'd definitely come back for that steak.

Great food, great place and nice atmosphere. The food was great and very generous. Got the chicken burger with fried avocado. Honestly the fried avocado doesnt add much to the burger as it gets all mushy at some point. We also had the mushroom pasta which was super tasty as well. There is also a nice long list of beer options

Business trip brought me to Denver and Appaloosa was the first place I ate. It certainly did not disappoint! Normally, on these trips I'll only eat a place once so I can enjoy all a city has. Well, Appaloosa pulled me back 3 times altogether! My family and colleagues enjoyed the bison steak, the bison burger, and the Chili.
All the items we tried was amazing.
It took a minute to appreciate the tip system. All food has a 20% service charge that all the employees share - and you are given the opportunity to add extra for your server. After our first meal it wasn't hard to leave extra. The food, atmosphere and service was great. All our food was prepared as stated and the choices was great. They were one of the few places we found on 16th Street that has music every night.

The service is awesome and the establishment was very welcoming.

LIVE music in this restaurant. Cool atmosphere with a great staff. Make your reservation. We had a party of 10 and were seated right away. The menu is diverse and tasty. I got the Borracho Avocado app, where the avocado was beer battered and fried, then served with chips and pico. Dinner was the filet mignon with zucchini and mashies. Five stars across the board. Our group played a murder mystery game while we ate. There was no room for dessert, but that apple cinnamon creme brule was very tempting.

Great food and beer! Happy Hour everyday between 3 and 6pm. $2 off all CO local beer, and a few awesome appetizers. Highly recommend the goat cheese plate for $7! If you are game for wild game, the elk burger is delicious. A bit gamy in my taste but the flavor, condiments, and fries paired very well! Come during happy hour!

First timers- lobster roll was fantastic! Burger, average, Mac and cheese above the norm. HOWEVER, I think it’s important to see actual size of the roll you’re getting for the $40 price tag (fries not included), and mind you, I’m an average sized gentlemen so my paw pictured here is proportioned. The roll IS meaty, and flavorful, but was a little shocking in size when it arrived. I’m dropping a star not because of the size of the roll, but service was mediocre at best. We had to sit at tables just outside bar area and I’m guessing bartender was having a bad day- sadly, my family and I had to experience his discontent. Still- food was overall pretty darn good. 😁👍🏼
Oh- and be prepared for the. automatically 20% gratuity, regardless of table size (we were 3), and if you don’t leave additional tip (yes, on top of the 20%), you WILL GET THE STINK-EYE!

Amazing goat cheese stuffed chicken breast! The staff were very knowledgeable about gluten allergies. Apparently the chef's son has celiac disease so they know to take the allergy seriously. So many delicious options and delicious drinks as well to pair all the food with. Live music was excellent!

First timer here. Tried the Bison Chili Colorado and the Bison Green Chile Burger with Truffle Fried. Both were amazing. Huge selection of Colorado Craft Beers as well as Bison and Elk entrées. Highly recommend checking it out.

We ordered the baked goat cheese as an appetizer and it was wonderful! I'd definitely order again!
My husband ordered the steak and veggies with shrimp on the side and I had the Maine lobster roll with truffle fries. Both were very tasty! I ordered the lemon drop with dinner and he had the paper plane, they paired great!
The restaurant was busy, but we got received our food in a very timely manner and it was hot and delicious! The servers were all very kind and knowledgeable as well.
We will definitely come back to eat when we're in Denver again :)

Appaloosa Grill is one of the best places to hang out and dine in downtown Denver. Not only do they have a fabulous chef and menu, their employees are incredibly friendly and treat you like family. I love that they are huge supporters of local non-profits too! Plus they have live music !!

Love this place!! Bar staff as wait staff is anazing. But the manager is a piece of Shit. I come here with customers all the time but when I come here after hours I get treated like I am nothing. I bring a lot of business to this bar and it is not ok for me to be treated this way when I am not bringing business to their bar.

An accidental find, this turned out to be the most amazing food I have had in a long time. Truly a culinary treat if you are looking for an authentic non-chain restaurant with amazing food and great service, stop in here. Awful service. Amateur hour. A place with this little knowledge on food shouldn't be charging $39 for a dish ... honestly I've have better meals at chain restaurants... no clue how they have such high ratings. Maybe I just got the bad table. Over cooked calamari, ok agnolotti (ps you should learn how to say agnolotti properly). Sazerac made wrong... filet was charred way too much... I mean the list goes on.

Planned a work happy hour here and the staff was very helpful when I called to make a reservation. They set us up at their high tops behind the bar which was great for our large group. Our waitress was amazing takin all of our orders and keeping our checks separate. Beer selection was good, and the food was great. I got the pork poutine which was very tasty and larger than I expected.

My meal wasn’t that great. I got the lamb steak medium well and it came out cold. I’m sure due to it being cut up for u already. I’m pretty sure if i ordered a regular steak it wouldn’t have came out cut up. The sides were horrible that came with it also. My boyfriends meal was good tho. He had to share his with me. He eats anything so he ate mine. He had the baked chicken with mashed and roasted veggies. Hype about this place is too much.

They no longer have the English Eggrolls, their single signature dish. When talking to the bartender we were informed it was too labor intrusive. When we asked her to inform the chef we were unhappy with this decision, she responded "he won't care", won't be back chuckin' duces atcha!! We will take our money to a location where it is not too labor intensive to serve us.

I had the pork sandwich with the most delicious Brussel sprouts I've ever eaten! My husband had the steak salad and a cup of the bison chili. He enjoyed both. You won't go wrong eating here when you are in Denver.
