Review Dazzle - Denver

A triumph! Our expectations were sky high. And they were exceeded. Stellar service and delightful atmosphere. Every staff member we were lucky enough to meet was clearly empowered to do whatever they could to make our evening enjoyable and - it worked! We all expect world class music at Dazzle and not only did we get it, it’s world class music presented in the most wonderful, intimate way. As though the entire night was designed just for us! We can not thank you enough and we can’t wait to be back! Oh! And i docked a star from the food because it’s going to take some getting used to that the old Dazzle burger and the like can’t be served at the new venue. But what IS on the menu was perfectly fine. The watermelon salad was really good and so were the desserts. And yes, we did sample most of those…😎

The Blue Note in Denver? Not - no this is much more intimate with top notch dinner and drink service as well as noted area and national jazz artists. Kudos for a great new venue where many traditions will be born in the jazz world. Creative drink and food menu with attentive service. This is a music scene of the right proportion for Denver. Thank you Dazzle!

The food was a little disappointing but the jazz program was outstanding. 🤩. The tribute to Dale Brunning was so touching. Such an amazing local composer and musician. Thanks for providing a jazz club for the Denver community.

The new location is sleek and functional. Gone are the cushy booths, ill lit room, and wrap around bar. If you are going for a main stage performance, do not sit near the bar. It can be tough to hear a show from over by the bar area. The bar seating is not suitable if you need a back or cushion. The salmon salad was delicious. The former location will be missed, but they did bring over the carrot cake. It is valuable that they made it to this arts district space.

This place is a winner. If you want date night at any stage of a relationship this is just a painfully easy choice. Drinks and food ande great and they offer modern payment solutions that make the entire experience effortless fun.

I feel like Dazzle deserves more than 5 stars. I attended a show tonight and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had anywhere. The food was delicious, the honeycomb vanilla ice cream was one of the best ice creams I have ever had. The artists who performed were full of passion, and energy. They were great performers and I had fun, I was encouraged, and I felt the whole range of emotions. The performance was powerful and memorable. I had attended a show at dazzle (2 locations ago) many many years ago, their new location in DPAC is amazing. I like that now all the seats face the stage. Service was exceptional. I wish I was able to go to Dazzle more! It is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. Both times I have gone to Dazzle I have not known the artist performing or had any prior experience with their music. Both times the artists have been incredible. Go to Dazzle, any night, no matter who is performing. You will not be disappointed!

The Sax Syndicate was awesome. Food and drinks were delicious and our server Felix was super nice. We will definitely come back here for another show. The hotel theatro valet parking was full but there is a garage right around the corner at the Curtis Hotel that had parking.

It's a dazzling spot at which to see and hear jazz performances up close and personal. A varied drink and food menu. Creamy delicious hot chocolate had mini marshmallows! Attentive table service did not distract during the performance, but QR option also available. Two musical notes. One, a 20% house gratuity is included. Two, website emphatically states each patron is required to order a minimum of 2 food or drink items, however, such a requirement was not stated by staff at entry, nor wait staff, nor the MC. When asked about it afterward, staff stated it was not a hard and fast requirement. However, we complied anyway. Go and be dazzled!

First impressions of the “New” Dazzles at the Performing Arts Center. Did not order food so no comments on that. Most importantly the sound was excellent. Clear and bright. It probably helped that Renee Marie and the local musicians that made up the band were all terrific. The physical layout and atmosphere is comfortable yet modern and energetic. Interesting and creative design elements. It’s very different and to me a nice upgrade from the previous location. Have to mention that reserved seating is much appreciated. Looking forward to visiting often.

Wonderful jazz club, around for a long time but now in this new location. The ticketed seating in the new location is tight with small tables, but it is adequate. The nice thing about the seating is that it is tiered and so there's a good view of the stage from most seats. The band feels close. Food service in the tight space is a little slow, but the wait staff did awesome moving in and out to get us our food and drinks. BTW other than the venue tickets for the show, a mandatory two food or drink items must be purchased at this venue. This makes it a bit more pricey but worth it for a special night of jazz once in a while. 🎷🎶

I had an awesome time!! I was in Denver for work. A friend recommended Dazzle, I made my reservation and went by myself. It was the best decision ever. Shamar Allen was awesome!! He engaged the crowd and has a funny personality. If I'm ever in Denver again I will surely revisit.

What a wonderful experience and wonderful evening. The sound was perfect and the food was great. I had the salmon sliders and would have them again. Can’t wait to go again!

I loved the ambiance and mood. Close to the performers who were great. I am so happy for this new space.

Last weekend I went to Dazzle for the second time, since they moved to their new location. I can easily say this is my favorite spot downtown. Both times the music has been top tier and the room really brings an exciting, close-knit, interactive experience. Besides the main room, they have a nice bar area, and a spacious piano lounge if you want spread out and socialize a bit. Whether you are a Denver resident or an out of town guest, I highly recommend checking their calander and finding an evening that peaks your interest. They are open 6 days a week, so there are plenty of opportunities to catch some really great musicians!

Love the new Venue and the music was amazing, as always. I’m Gluten Free and found several delicious options for me on the menu. The service is excellent and the sound is everything you would hope for in a Jazz Club. If you’re from out of town, be sure to visit this Denver Gem while you’re in town.

It was my first visit to Dazzle Denver. I liked the environment. It was intimate yet not cramped. Each seating area is designed for two people with a small fixed table for food and drink. I didn't have food but had a couple of drinks which were reasonably priced for a night spot in Denver. The act was good, not great, but enjoyable overall with fairly priced tickets. Access to the venue was easy as I made reservations and was on the list upon arrival. Recommended if you want to hear live jazz at reasonable cost.

Jazz isn't dead but it could be. Support establishments like dazzle that support Jazz. We went for jazz brunch on a Friday. Friday is the new Sunday, music was great, not too loud; food was great for lunch choice of fixed menu items.

My friend and I went in before a show to grab a drink, and it was such an amazing experience. The drinks were great, and once the music started, the atmosphere was just what we needed. Can't wait to go back more in the future.

Visited Dazzle at their new location two nights ago for Diego Figueiredo, and wanted to love it... but didn't. Let me first say this- Diego was EXCELLENT! What a talented, personable musician. However, Dazzle itself disappointed immensely. I understand that there are moving and growing pains, but this is one Denver institution taking over another- combined forces should result in awesomeness. Why the low review? First, we were in the back room for this event- dowdy surroundings, poor climate control (exceedingly hot to the point we were sweating, then freezing cold), uncomfortable chairs for guests, and poor lighting for the performer. We chose to have drinks and dinner, both of which were expensive and lackluster. I had a flavorless mojito, and my boyfriend had a poor version of an Old Fashioned. For dinner we had the corn pizza (a microwave California Pizza Kitchen pizza would have been better), and I had a sausage pasta- fine, but skimpy on the veggies and meat, particularly for the price. Our shared side of truffle fries tasted a lot like bland regular fries, served with ketchup, not aioli. I looked around and our neighbors seemed equally disappointed with a grisly steak and wilty salad. Dessert was redeeming- the chocolate torte was both beautiful and delicious. These two drinks, pizza, pasta, fries and dessert cost $78! Yikes! I'm happy to pay big bucks for quality food, but this was atrocious! To top off this meal, service was terrible! When out at a jazz club, I like a bit of swanky specialness, which is easily accomplished with great service. While the managers were indeed friendly and welcoming, our waiter was inexperienced and unprofessional at best, and that's putting it nicely. Ultimately, as a jazz lover I will probably return, making sure to eat dinner beforehand. Also, I have fond memories of brunch at the old location and other reviewers seem to say that this great tradition carries on, so here's to better future visits that will result in my rewriting this review.

Had a birthday Sunday brunch for a good friend here. Everything bwas awesome. The theme was barbeque.. brisket, ribs, and buffalo. As well as all the breakfast items to be expected like eggs and Waffles. The food was amazing, service was great and the music was awesome. All in all I had a great time and will be back in the future. Highly recommend!

A place that has sense of place brought home with the Baurs history we natives know. This is a classic setting, i felt like i should have dressed a bit better than casual.

Eddie Palmieri was amazing, hadn’t seen him in 20 years, and still at 80 years old, the sextet was suburb..... so I give it a five, the food was fine, expensive for quality, the service was slow, and not on par with the jazz.... servers seemed young and green... 25 minutes to order, another 30 for food, the server knew nothing about the items on the menu or beverages, the vegetables chewy, the chocolate tart was lovely ( though didn’t know there were nuts on it, and forgot we asked to have them removed if present) and the gelato was flavorless almost “watered down”.... but ..... as long as the music is of that caliber in that personal of an environment we will be back, just probably eat first. He was so amazing...

The act, Russell Malone took the guitar to realms where soul meets technique that I still professionally aspire toward as an actualization-focused psychotherapist with nearly 40 years experience. At least one of the stars for Dazzle is for setting this experience up. That star also goes to our server, Dan, another expression of fine souls. The remaining two stars for Dazzle environmental and operational factors are not very exciting. This was my first visit to the new location. Gorgeous bar! Stage set up is still in progress and in the mean time, the current set-up feels totally unfinished, unsettled. We had the mid-tier general admission tickets and compared to the same tickets at the old location, the sound quality truly interfered with the music experience that I have associated with Dazzle. It seems that the top tier table are likely to have had an experience that might have well been a different venue entirely. I was also disappointed that we could no longer check in for general admission and sit in a bar enjoying happy hour offerings until it is time to move to full price listening room. I enjoyed that the bar and listening room are are integrated but the happy hour option was certainly a feature on Lincoln. The food program is not really anything to comment on. The only place offering as skimpy a pizza for the price per pound would be the drive-in movie theaters of my childhood. Oh heck, that was a comment, wasn't it?! All things considered, I remain grateful that Denver has Dazzle and brings us the quality of jazz that we deserve. Cheers!

I recommend employing a new service staff. The service was egregious, but the music was wonderful. The music will bring me back, but I'll be dining elsewhere.

Found this wee treasure in Denver, good food, drinks and coffee. Live music and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Nice jazz venue, good food, great national and local jazz artists. One of the best places in Denver, and especially since it moved downtown.

Super disappointed. We took a group of 8 for father's day, and since I had been to the old location and loved it, I was really looking forward to the new place. Unfortunately, it's in a very loud, echo-y location so conversation before and after music is extremely difficult. Adding to that, our service was excessively slow (it took almost 30 min to order appetizers and another 30 to get them, in increments), and a $28 filet "special" that was cold when it arrived, was undercooked (considering they never asked how I wanted it) and the "tri-color cauliflower rice" was actually just steamed white rice with 3 soggy bits of broccoli tossed in. When we told the server, all he did was take the carrot cake off. So, $8 off for a $28 filet? And no apology, nothing. The music was good but that's the only positive I had out of the entire evening. I'm embarrassed that I brought 3 dads here to celebrate. I wouldn't recommend coming back to Dazzle.
