Review Tavernetta - Denver

Had an amazing birthday day. The Chase Sapphire menu was a well curated collection of the best dishes from the menu. Our waiter made suggestions of what he suggested we try. Well done! Hands down the best meal I have had in a very long time. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Phenomenal way to spend our anniversary! Tyler's service was excellent, and he even helped introduce us to amari - we asked him to surprise us and he set us up with one of his favorite and the first he tried - both were fantastic. The bartender's choice Scarlet Ibis was amazing, the mushroom lasagna was top of the line, and our desserts could have easily been all of the courses, and we'd have been happy.

Run šŸƒšŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ’Ø donā€™t walk to Tav. 1. Food is amayyyyyyzing. fyi šŸšØtheir menu changes frequently and seasonallyšŸšØso donā€™t check the menu too far out in advance because some food items might no longer be there. Staples (foods always on the menu) include their focaccia and burrata (ORDER THESE TOGETHER!), their lobster tagliatelle (which has some heat) and their rigatoni (a comfort classic). There might be others but point is there are few menu items that are consistent, which is a great excuse to keep coming back šŸ¤Ŗ Also, make room for dessert. Tavā€™s pastry team is fiiiiire šŸ”„ 2. Drinks (wine and cocktails) are incredible. Tav has my favorite g&t ever full stop. Their wine list is extensive and impressive. If you have any questions, ask one of their sommeliers! They are super helpful and wonderful šŸ’• 3. You need a reservation. They are busyyyyy. If you have a small party and donā€™t mind sitting at the bar *maybe* youā€™ll get lucky being seated as a walk in. But make a reservation. 4. Tav is certainly fine dining but not stuffy in the slightest. Thereā€™s no dress code and while some people dress up to go to Tav, other people wear jeans, so do whatever is comfortable for you. Tav is a place Iā€™ve been to several times and will continue to come back to. Their service and food will leave you feeling VIP and cared for!

Wonderful evening! The venu is simple and elegant. It's lively but not loud. Despite the buzz, we were able to hold a comfortable conversation. The staff was exceptional, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We started with carpaccio and foccacia, which we decided to split 50:50 regular and gluten free. It definitely put us in a good mood. As the main part, we decided to go with Spagetti Alla Nerano (one of us in regular version, me in gluten free version so fusilli instead of spaghetti) and a NY strip steak. The pasta was outstanding. My recommendation is to mix it up on the plate a bit to combine the taste. My husband said the steak was so far the best one he had in Denver. Needless to say, the dinner was fenomenal. Having a bit of a sweet tooth, we shared some desserts. The server recommended the Colorado honey gelato, and oh my, it was delicious! They mentioned that sometimes the customers are surprised there is no vanilla flavor, but it's really not needed when you have the honey! We also did the panna cotta, which was a mix of pumpkin (panna cotta), carmel apple (meringue), and cranberry (gelato). I'm running out of adjectives here! It was to die for. One of the pest panna cottas I ever had, and the mix of tastes was extraordinary. A litte side note: The size of the dishes is more European than American, which we loved. We were able to have a starter, main and a dessert, and not feel stuffed. For me, that's a huge advantage, but I'm mentioning that in case some of you might be big eaters and expect large portions. Here it's about the taste, not quantity! They did have a few dishes marked as bigger plates, though, in case someone is very hungry or wants leftovers. Even though gluten free options are not marked on the menu, the server walked us through everything, and about 90-95% already is or can be made GF. They have gluten free foccacia and pasta (fusilli). I think at the time of our vist the only options that were not possible to adjust were seafood, ravioli, and baked pasta. And some of the desserts. It's definitely one of the top restaurants in Denver. Can't wait to come back again!

My wife and I stopped in for happy hour since we were having dinner in the area and this place was great. We didn't have a reservation, but they were very accommodating (let us know a table was available and what time the next reservation was for, very politely but clearly). The cocktails and wines are delicious. The arancini and meatballs were some of the best I've had. While it's a pricey place, the happy hour deals are perfectly reasonable. We'll definitely be back for another happy hour.

Such an enjoyable evening. We had come on a Monday. The service was very caring and attentive, with a great choice for a white bottle. All of the ingredients felt fresh and very delicious. First drink was the Negroni, it was easily one of the best Iā€™ve had. The sweetness and bitterness was perfectly balanced. Started with the fried seafood and burrata plates, the burrito was superb but the seafood was a little soggy. The textures of the aoli and seafood wasnā€™t great, it needed that crunch. At this point we told the somm what we were looking for in a bottle and got the perfect fit. It paired well with every course. Their foccacia alone is a good reason to come back, super light and spongey. Fantastic with the oil that comes with it. For the main courses, the lasagna and duck. The duck was cooked perfectly, but the whole plate needed a boost. I would have liked more mustard and the puree on the bottom was lacking, the server didnā€™t know what it was. The lasagna is probably the best in the state. We finished with the incredible tiramisu. Definitely coming back!

My husband and I came here for our first wedding anniversary. The service was impeccable. Upon getting seated, our host handed us a drink menu, to which I then asked what their zero proof options were. After showing us where they were on the menu, he came back only a couple mins later with two flutes of NA bubbly because he thought we needed to cheers the occasion with something. I just thought this was so thoughtful. Have been thinking about the food (especially the focaccia!!) ever since and canā€™t wait to go back. 100000/10!!

Iā€™m a spoiled European with a really high bar for Italian food and last nightā€™s dinner completely met all of my expectations. The food was spectacular! From Burrata and Carpaccio to the handmade pastas and desserts. Winter Squash Ravioli was our favorite but their Mushroom lasagna was also delicious. You canā€™t skip their Tiramisu. The Classic Negroni was hands down the best one Iā€™ve ever had on this side of the pond! I canā€™t wait to come back.

One of the best dining experiences in Denver. My wife and I walked in on a Thursday evening for dinner and left happy. Hereā€™s our experience. 1) Food: Everything we ordered was presented well and tasted amazing. To feed two of us, we got the focaccia, burrata, tagliatelle, roasted root vegetables, and zucchini. Everything was perfect but the standouts were the burrata, tagliatelle, and zucchini. Too full after dinner, we sadly passed on dessert. 2) Drinks: Starting off at the bar, my wife loved the white Negroni. For a more sweet drink, I got two glasses of the Batida Amarga. A Brazilian drink, it has cachaca, passion fruit, and sweetened condensed milk. Itā€™s not overly sweet. 3) Service: From start to finish, it was top-notch. They were accommodating with me as I waited for my wife to arrive. Everyone was friendly, professional, and efficient. 4) Atmosphere: Itā€™s a spacious restaurant with a classy bar and space. Itā€™s obviously more fancy but not in a stiff way. 5) Area: Itā€™s very close to Union Station with plenty to do nearby.

First off, go here (i have had dinner here twice and sat at the bar a couple times)! Headed by an incredible team and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey (Frasca) and an incredible collection of bartenders and sommeliers, you will be amazed. I am a sommelier and a restaurant worker of 10 years, and I am always blown away every time I stop in for a couple of small pours of wine. The food is excellent, the service is incredible, and the atmosphere feels cozy yet formal. To me, they have earned the title of the best restaurant in Colorado.

Gluten free review! The ambiance and service were excellent. We came because we heard about the gluten free focaccia and pasta. The best part of the meal was dessert, which was excellent! If youā€™ve never had a gluten free focaccia as a celiac, definitely check it out! GF focaccia is tough to do, but the taste is pretty consistent/generic (rice based) once you make it. The crunchy crust and oil with it was great too! They have a gluten free pasta, itā€™s corn based, it was cooked well but Iā€™m not a huge fan of the corn based ones as the other blends have more variety (yes Iā€™m picky, Iā€™ve had a lot of GF pastas and the standard is higher when you lay $30 a plate). The sauces were great in the two pastas we had, the lobster in one of them tasted really fishy so we picked around it. We had the chocolate cake option and caramel gelato and would definitely come back just for dessert!

The food was very good, but perhaps a little underwhelming in some spots. Service was excellent. The lamb ragu had no noticeable lamb flavor and tasted just like ground beef TBH. I think I was expecting braised/pulled shoulder or shank instead of ground meet, but otherwise the sauce had nice flavor. Seems like the steak might have been sous vide before searing by the lack of any apparent color graduation in the mid rare, which is not my favorite method for steak honestly, as the flavor doesnā€™t get as concentrated with no evaporation in vacuum sealed methods (but to be fair I am not positive it was prepared that way, as I did not see a circulator on the line). Definitely seemed like choice and not prime however, so that was a bit disappointing for the price point. The buratta was delicious and the focaccia is excellent as well! The amount of sauce kind of overwhelmed the super finely sliced carpaccio, but it was still good. Itā€™s a solid choice for fine dining if not a bit overhyped. The dishes were all above average but nothing mind blowing.

We loved sitting out on the patio. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. Freshly made pasta and perfectly paired wine. Excellent experience all around.

What a great spot for amazing Italian food. Beautiful, lively ambiance and outstanding service. Definitely make a reservation well ahead of time. Or, if you are lucky, you might score some seats at the bar.

Cozy space with comfortable seating. Great service!! šŸ‘šŸ‘ Shared meat plate, olive plate, misto salad. Two pastas (delicious!!) And the pork chop which was amazing. White negroni, yum!

Oh where to start! I felt a bit out of place in my t-shirt here, as it is a bit more upscale. However, the staff did not even act like they noticed me dressed like a scrub! LOL.. We had the meatballs and an order of bread for our starter, it did not disappoint! Crust on the bread was crispy and the center of the bread was soft and light. Perfect for dipping in the olive oil or the marinara sauce from the meatballs. I ordered the Tagliatelle (Maine Lobster, Calabrian Chile, in a robust tomato sauce, my wife had the Bucatini that was delicious as well. We both had a cocktail with our meal, you could see it was made with thought and care, both cocktails were fantastic to drink! When my wife stepped away from the table the Maitre d refolded her napkin, all the staff work together to bring you the best experience. Each one treated you as if you were vip. We also ordered a Tiramisu for dessert that was OMG good! Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy a nice glass of port wine and a coffee but had after dinner plans that were pressing. Next time for sure! Desert and wine 1st!

Best service Iā€™ve experienced in Denver. Highly recommend coming here, the food was outstanding and the vibe was really pretty and different. But what stood out the most compared to other Denver restaurants was hands down the service!

I had a fantastic experience here. The service was outstanding and the food and atmosphere were great. I wish I had taken more pictures. I especially loved the Melone salad we had that had prosciutto & a marigold/mint herb medley. It was hands down one of the most original and well rounded appetizer dishes I've ever tasted. The Burrata was also very well done. I was very impressed with how well the open kitchen is run and with how in sync the entire staff is. This is an incredibly well run restaurant, and you can tell the servers enjoy what they do, and are knowledgable. I was also quite impressed with the sommelier that they have on staff, because I ordered a pinot noir that I found was a little too acidic for my taste. So I asked the server what they would suggest if I wanted something else, and then went on to describe my preference. He came back with a tasting of a suggestion from the sommelier, and it was EXACTLY what I was going for and absolutely sublime! My only negative, which is just me being overtly American, and stupid, is that having the menu largely in Italian in a font that was a tad hard to read, it made for some confusion as to exactly what things were. Are server was great at describing things though, and all and all it was wonderful.

Brought our foodie friends from out of town to Tavernetta and we got to sit at the Chefā€™s table and see the kitchen at work. Service was exceptional. The dishes that stood out most to us were the Lamb Ragu Rigatoni, Burrata, and the Bistec alla Fiorentina. Delicious, comforting, lovely vibes all around. Weā€™ll be back!
