Review Milkbox Ice Creamery - Denver

Anthony H.
The best part, for me, is the location. It makes it easy to enjoy in the Terminal building of Union Station especially during the cold months. The flavors are unique and very good. I had the Irish Cream fudge. I enjoyed it. Well balanced flavor - neither was overpowering. The atmosphere of the actual shop is a little underwhelming. But it is clean and very nice.

Had a shake and it was awesome. The ice cream flavors are unique and flavorful. The service was awesome and super friendly.

Milk box Ice Creamery has super tasty ice cream, with lots of flavor options. The shop even had a couple of sorbet flavors for my dairy-free kiddos. Service is friendly. It’s located in Denver’s Union Station. We took the RTD light rail there. However there is some street side metered parking. My only concern is the price. A single scoop costed just over four dollars. Other than that, Milk ox Ice Creamery is a wonderful place to get ice cream.

Service was good. But we waited for them to open at 11 and only half the flavors were available. Plus ordered a cone and on the second lick the scoop fell to the ground😳😳😳

Tried a few flavors. All of them were good. The chocolate was very rich.

If you have to wait for the Bustang, why not have some ice cream? You've put up with Denver long enough, so treat yourself. Want to make a special mention to Atrinity - a really cool person, with an equally unique name. Had me enjoying my shake in about 120 seconds, and omg was it good. Banana Pudding. are you KIDDING ME? Made the whole ride back home much more bearable. I was the guy with the blue beard, and I will definitely be back.

This business is a decent "old fashioned" ice cream shop inside the Denver Union Station building. It is located in the southwest corner of the building and you can enter from the outdoor patio on the west side, or go through the coffee shop from the inside public seating area. This ice cream shop has a good variety of ice cream flavors, some non-dairy (I believe), perhaps 15 or more flavors. I overheard the flavors can change hourly and there is no schedule for when a particular flavor is available. So count your luck if you find your favorite from this shop! There are cone options and of course different size cones and bowls. Prices were OK, especially for a touristy location. My only complaint might be the ice cream was not cold and well on its way to melting (on a hot July day). Service was great. They treated customers well and addressed customers’ questions and concerns despite the long line out the door. My son and I hung out at the train station with our ice cream to watch people and trains. There are tables and old station benches available for sitting. Actually there is a wide variety of seating arrangements and accommodations. If you are meeting anyone downtown, this would be a great place. Although it can get busy. Don’t forget there is seating just outside the shop on an outdoor patio as well by the station fountain. Milkbox is a great treat and a nice excuse to visit Union Station.

Like a grown up version of Little Man Ice Cream. Same delicious flavors but a slightly more extensive menu with milkshakes and alcohol additions to milkshakes. Very nice location, right on the corner of Union Station. Will revisit all the time!

Yes please! This ice cream is so delicious and is a branch from little man ice cream. I always get whatever is salted caramel (Oreo or peanut butter)! It is so good with the perfect amount of sweet and goodness. You will not be disappointed!

The perfect way to beat the heat in Denver is to go to Milkbox Ice Creamery and get one (or two) of their delicious boozy shakes and go drink them in the fountain just outside. I can never decide between chocolate and coffee so I just get both! I highly recommend Milkbox for anyone who wants an alcoholic beverage but prefers a milkshake to a martini.

Loved the butterscotch and bourbon shake. And let me tell you, my guy was not stingy on the alcohol! My husband I've cream was very creamy and tasted homemade.

Offers a variety of flavors, including vegan options. Staff were great. And guests of The Crawford Hotel get a free scoop daily!

The line moved nice and fast and the ice cream was delicious, I just didn’t feel like there was a ton of options compared to most ice cream shops. But I would definitely come back

A hit! Love The location of this shop, it’s right in union station where people come and go frequently. I HIGHLY recommend the banana ice cream and pineapple sorbet, both flavors were incredible! The shop is super cute and fun, the employees were lovely and helpful!

Got the boozy shake, which ended up being pretty good. The Milkbox has very good ice cream, but nothing to go out of your way for. If you are in the area, I would advise visiting.

Very good ice cream, but quite pricey, so debatable on the worth....try the more unique flavors at least before settling for the generic standbys...

I visited Milkbox for the first time last night, and I have to say, I really liked it! It was a Monday night so the shop was virtually empty, and I received exceptional service from the two employees that were holding down the fort. They were great conversationalists, and they made the experience really fun. There wasn't really any room to sit in the shop itself, so my boyfriend, friend and I wandered into the large, communal area in the middle of Union Station. We easily found a couch to sit on while we enjoyed our ice cream, so overall, I had a pretty terrific experience. I can imagine, though, how chaotic this place would get on the weekends, so for the time being, I think I'll limit my Milkbox excursions to weekday afternoons.

Okay, so if you are an ice cream snob, you might LOVE this downtown spot for that, but if you want a spot to take the whole family while you lick your leche, you might pick another spot.  They serve up Little Man Ice Cream, on a recent trip there, we had Space Junkie, and Vegan Banana Chip and the Butterscotch- all so CREAMY and delicious!  HOWEVER, I had come in off the splash pad with my daughter in her swimsuit and there is definitely NO ROOM for a stroller, so husband and baby waited outside.  The space is off with a large entryway in the middle of the store and only a couple little tables in the middle, so not really suitable for a date night convo (not private), as you are literally in the middle of the line that wraps in front of the ice cream bins and out the door into Pig Train Coffee.  Secondly, I had visited here once before, last October, and things have changed since in regards to photography.  I was snapping pics of my daughter in the shop, I have a lifestyle based blog, and the worker told me I had to apply for a permit?!?!?!  He said photographs were only permitted of Union Station on certain days/times.... as if Union Station's upper crust attitude wasn't apparent enough!  I'd rather head to Little Man on 15th next time.

The lady who help us seemed impatient and there wasn't even a line. The flavors are ok the location is different for sure, meaning it's a weird use of the space. I would not go back do the fun of it.

Yum! The little man Ice cream was delish and the employees were super friendly. I wish that they would have had more seating but for a quick bite of delicious ice cream I would definitely recommend milkbox ice creamery.

This is one gorgeous and delicious ice cream shop. Step back in time while you order Little Man Ice Cream from this perfect little spot. You gotta try the Boozy Shakes and a sundae. You'll be so glad you did. http://milkboxicecream.com

i happened upon Milkbox while wandering around Union Station. It has quaint, old fashioned decor and very good ice cream. They sell their ice cream by the ounce, which was perfect since I had just finished a big dinner. This is their salted caramel ice cream, which was outstanding. It was rich with caramel flavor and a hint of salt, but without overwhelming the creaminess of the ice cream. Their ice cream sandwiches looked extremely tempting. I expect to visit here again.
