Loved Swan River for Kerry & Brendans wedding rehearsal dinner!!! The food was amazing, along with music and service!!!
So 50 years ago, my family went to Swan River for dinner. Back when you went on vacation and only went out to dinner one night. To celebrate my 50th year coming to the Cape, my husband and I went back to Swan River. I got the fried shrimp, as I always did, such a flashback, perfect night. The staff was wonderful, as was the service. If you want good Cape Cod food, go to Swan River, you won't regret it.
Absolutely wonderful food! The Grilled swordfish was cooked to perfection. Elote Cod Special was outstanding. Seafood Supreme had nice big shrimp, and sea scallops, plus at least one lobster claw and lump meat - not bay scallops & popcorn shrimp, with lobster leg meat. The lobster Mac & Cheese was flavorful and didn't scrimp on lobster either. Chowda was creamy and had tender clams and potatoes. Mocktails were tasty, too. Highly recommend this place!!
Amazing! The drinks where perfect…Tito’s and cranberry w lime had the right amount of all and that’s hard to do… the Riesling was light, crisp and perfect. We had the cape cod seafood medley and the lobster Mac n cheese. It was fresh and the chunks of lobster in the Mac n cheese were huge!
Maureen the awesome redhead was a real treat, funny, full of stories and local information. She suggested to finish with the Sand bar dessert and she was on point, amazingly good! A must come come back. Thank you!

We ate outdoors by the marsh and river. Very pleasant.
The food was cooked wonderfully. The flavors were tasty. The French fries were some of the best we've tasted!
The only glitch was the lobster on the tacos. It was watery which suggested it was frozen. Fresh but frozen perhaps.
Our waiter was sweet and attentive.
First time. Been wanting to try Swan River for a while but never got around to it until tonight. We couldn’t have picked a better night for several reasons. When we arrived we were checking out the outside dining when a gentleman approached us and asked if we had a reservation. We reluctantly replied No. He said he was sorry that there were 2 weddings going on inside so the only thing available was outside. Weather was perfect so it wasn’t a problem. He said he could fit us in but there would be about a 20 minute wait. We said no problem. Within 5 minutes we were seated at a table outside. Having driven by dozens of times we hadn’t ever really seen the outdoor seating. It’s a great location overlooking the Swan River. There are approximately 20 tables and a fire pit and a bar. Our timing couldn’t have been better as we were able to view a beautiful sunset from our table. While the view and weather were perfect they don’t entirely make for a perfect experience if the food and beverages don’t match the atmosphere. Alas they did not disappoint. I ordered a local (Dennis) draft and it was so good I had another. I ordered off the nightly specials menu and had a new take on an old classic. I ordered the Cape Cod Potato Chip crusted cod. A new local twist on the usual Ritz cracker crusted cod, which is one of my favorites.
It came with rice and carrots & green beans. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty. I was entirely satisfied with my choice.
While I wasn’t hungry anymore I wasn’t quite ready to see a perfect evening end so in memory of “Tony” I ordered dessert. I opted for the “Sandbar”, an ice cream, cake, Reese’s peanut butter cup concoction. It was incredible and was the “Cherry on Top” of a perfect meal.
To add to a perfect meal and night out was the outstanding service. I’m not sure if the first gentleman who greeted and took care of us is the owner or manager but he is completely hands on, running around making sure everything kept running smoothly with a full house at the outside dining and a wedding going on inside. The rest of the staff outside were doing likewise. Although they were all hurrying and scurrying about there was an adequate number of servers. All you here about these past few years is to be patient eating out on the Cape because of the lack of restaurant staffing. And expect it to be worse in September when all the college kids go back to school. The Swan River Restaurant has found the secret sauce because they have lots of staff and they work hard to make your dining experience enjoyable. Last but not least a shoutout to our server “Adrian”. Adrian was pleasant and efficient. He was attentive and a pleasure to meet. He is a real credit to the success ofThe Swan River Restaurant.
The wife and I chose this spot for an anniversary dinner - and we were NOT disappointed. The food was amazing across the board... the service was charming (thank you, Duet!) and the desserts were awesome too. (Try the Sandbar - a concoction of Graham cracker, chocolate, Reese's and vanilla ice cream that is just out of this world.
Two giant thumbs-up - we'll definitely be back!
We came just after they started serving tables outside by the water. The view is fantastic if the weather is great. The food was fantastic and hot but the service and speed was not great. It’s a long walk from the kitchen to the seating so the poor wait staff have a ton of walking to do. Because of this you need to have different expectations. We rarely saw our waitress but she was very pleasant and apologized for the long wait. The tables were cleaned after each use and spaced far from each other. I was thankful to have the chance to sit with the family and enjoy the outdoors and great seafood. I hope you have as great a time - even if it’s slow.
The clam chowder was phenomenal. Best chowder I've had in a long time. The fresh, cold, local oysters were great. We also ordered 1.5 lbs of steamers and they were huge! The 2 lb lobster dinner was well worth it.. meaty and delicious, and the corn was super sweet. My Dad enjoyed his fried whole bellies as well. Would definitely go back.
Beautiful dining experience overlooking Swan River! Highly recommend getting an outdoor table alone the fence and enjoying your meal with a view. Fish and chips were the best we’ve ever had - fresh, juicy fish perfectly fried. Also loved the clam chowder and beach bread. Great selection of local beers, though their mojito could use more mint. Service was hard working and very kind, though a bit hard to wave down due to the distance between the main building and the outdoor tables. Only item I wouldn’t order again are the steamers, which were quite sandy despite rinsing them in the broth they provided. Overall would definitely come back for the fish and chips and the view!
Food was good. This was a last minute stop. I had the $34 lobster roll (4 oz) which so fresh. My wife had the fried halibut fish tacos.
Service was good but no one came over to check on us or even ask for a water refill.
The sunset from the deck was spectacular!
Absolutely delicious, with gorgeous views! We got the Seafood Supreme with lobster, scallops and shrimp (all very fresh and cooked to perfection) and the baked crab crusted haddock. The staff was very friendly and welcoming even though we got there just before closing. Will definitely go back if we're in the area again!
