Review The Wooden Shoe Inc. - Dennis Port

You’ve got to know what you’re looking for with a place like this. It’s a hole in the wall with 2 servers usually they also tend bar. There are 2 medium sized tv’s up in the corners of the restaurant and often they play jaws or baseball. I think they have 4 beers on tap. BUT the food is good/great depending on the item - and they treat everyone like an old friend. We love it here but it’s not trying to be fine dining or impress your hard to please uncle. Family of 4 can easily eat for $65-$85.

If they are not known for their bloody marry's then they should be. I believe the owner (female) made it for me. Enter it into a competition. Pricey place but it is the cape so I expected it. I'd say average for the area. Pretty generous portions of foo, we ordered crab cakes, steamers and a giant lobster roll. The giant lobster roll was just a basic new england hot dog roll overly, over filled with lobster meat, but it was delicious. The crab cakes aren't your typical crab cakes. Maybe baked In a muffin top pan, but they are good. They had a good ratio of crab to mixture, not gene9but good amount. The steamers were little necks, also good, served with butter and Broth. It was recommended by some locals....

One of the BEST lobster rolls this summer so far in Cape. Interior is deceiving but food is amazing! Fresh and done right with the bun. Comfy and not crowded, come hide in bliss. This place is a GEM. Drinks , no list but they can make anything. If you havnt been here, come in and order food still made with love and care, un tainted by the rush of the season. Finally.

My husband loved the homemade quahog and his lobster roll. The restaurant was very rustic. Our server was friendly and informative.

If you are craving a lobster roll, this may be the place! A pound of lobster on a toasted hot dog roll. Lobster has light mayo and no fillers. Couple of premium cocktails, Perfect!

A little dive bar vibe but the best NE clam chowder and lobster rolls on the Cape. The lobster roll is definitely the best bang for your buck

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We ordered New England Clam Chowder and Lobster Rolls. The chowder was the best I’ve ever tasted. The Lobster Rolls were huge and fabulous. We even stopped back the next day for take out orders to bring back home to Boston. If you want to eat at a casual friendly place with outstanding food this is this is the restaurant.

A small tragedy this place has only 4.1 stars as of now. The quahogs are phenomenal. It's an old school joint, frequented by an older crowd. You're not going there for the decor/ambiance. Great food. Clam cakes were great as well, came with a really fabulous dressing. Lobster roll was massive. Could be nice if they toasted that bun and threw some chives on.

Really tasty, had the Lobster Roll mixed it with the coleslaw it was so good.

We had their Lobster roll, it was very good. More lobster than bread and that's a good thing. We like this place as soon as we walked in. We always like finding a restaurant that isn't a chain franchise but a restaurant where the locals go. This is one of those spots.

A very basic pub restaurant with a limited menu. Lobster rolls were fantastic - large one had 12 ounces of lobster meat bulging out of the roll and on top. The clam chowder was thick, but very tasty! Limited beers on tap, but plenty that go well with seafood. Cash only place and not cheap! Large lobster rolls were about $28 each. Friendly service and great seafood.

Tonight was my second or third time here. My friend and I both had the giant lobster roll. Giant is an understatement. It ad close to the amount most places put in 3 lobster rolls- 14 oz of chunky lobster and just a little mayo. Cold, tasty and worth every penny. Great meal!

Exceptional food , reasonable prices and great service. Highly recommend stopping in here for lunch/ dinner or a cool drink

We had a couple of lobster rolls and really liked them, not junked up with fillers, just straight up lobster. The small lobster roll was ample for me but I could be tempted to - go large - if I had prepared my appetite for the experience. The drafts were cold and the service personable. We are looking forward to our next outing there... there are more items to try as we watched plated food come by to happily be received by other guests. The place is relaxed and conversation was easy with forgiving acoustics. The lobster rolls will be enjoyed again though.

Freshest, lightest Lobster Rolls on the mid cape. I have over 25 years of experience on the cape. This place is great. One of the best kept secrets on the Cape. The chowder is thick and tasty. I am glad to see that they won top 10 chowders on the cape this year. Great, unassuming, restaurant and bar.

The best casual dining in the area!

What did I do when I arrived at the wooden shoe, I ordered the lobster sandwich. The lobster was so high I could not get it in my mouth, first I attacked it with a fork and knocked some lobsters to the side, leaving one in the butter toasted bread, I let that lobster rest in his bun, then eating the lobster I knocked off earlier with just the right amount of coleslaw and chips to clean the palette.

We had a wonderful meal and the service was great. So happy, pleasant and attentive.

We were disappointed. I got the small lobster roll. I didn't ask the price. Turned out it was $24+! I was shocked. I think it used to be much less. My bad, though because it said market value, but I didn't ask! Gigantic one was only $4 more. My husband's lobster was either over cooked or under cooked. He said it was hard to get the meat out. We were disappointed because it had always been excellent! Maybe just bad timing?
Gretchen Coleman
Fantastic food in a casual atmosphere.

Food was very good and the lobster was fresh. If they'd get AC, it would be a 5 star.

Great Lobster!!. How anybody could not enjoy coming to The Wooden Shoe is beyond me. Within its cozy atmosphere, you will find a wonderful weight staff and some of the best seafood in the area. Highly recommended to any lobster connoisseur.

The decor is... interesting and the menu is limited (you will not find coffee or desert here) but this a great place to get reasonably priced seafood. I've had the scallops and lobster-- both of which I'd recommend.
