Kate Rusby concert last night was brilliant. Was very impressed with the Hippodrome. Fantastic building & lovely renovations. What an asset Darlington has with a great venue.

Attended to watch Kate Rusby and Northern Soul Live on subsequent nights. The theatre is looking great. The drinks are reasonably priced. Probably could do with more bar staff on, 2nd night the pre ordered drinks weren't ready at the interval so i ended up queueing and rushing my drink anyway. They have a crazy rule that you can't stand at all during the performance ( only for standing ovation), which I understand for theatrical productions but for live bands especially those dance related it's frankly ridiculous and for Northern Soul it didn't work, people moved to the side aisles and danced- everyone was fine. It must feel quite surreal for the performers not seeing people dancing away to songs as they do in other venues - makes Darlington seem a bit restrained and miserable. However a great night both nights and I loved the 20 second hand washing song lyrics in the toilet. Great idea.

Just got back from watching Rock of Ages and this has to be one of the best musicals we have been too. The cast were amazing from the dancers to main characters lots of laughs and brilliant music we will definitely be back for more. Keep up the great work

Lovely venue. Well refurbished. The only gripe is we had tickets in the upper circle and half the screen on the stage was unseen. Apart from that, tip top.

An absolutely beautiful building, recently renovated, retaining it's old world charm with the addition of some modern features. Very clean. Very polite and engaging staff. A great place for a coffee, snack or cake. Fantastic theatrical productions, musicals, pantos, comedians, everything you would expect from this type of venue. Productions suitable for all age groups. Tickets are pricey especially as they include a £2 levy for the refurbishment. It means that a lot of families are priced out of visiting this venue for entertainment. There are rooms above the coffee shop area that are used as meeting rooms and they're of a very high standard.

What a lovely theatre, our first visit. Comfortable seats and a good view from the stalls. Queues at the bars but went down very quickly with friendly efficient staff. Free parking in car park opposite after 6pm which was very handy.

The theatre has had a makeover since I last attended, it looks fantastic from walking in, to the actual theatre. A great venue.
