De Coral Buffet

I wanted to try a local restaurant to where my in-laws grew up. We were a little wary about the place, but we tried it anyway. It was a really good buffet. The sliced potatoes were awesome as well as my salmon and curry dish. I pretty much liked everything I tried. It was mixed results for my husband and in-laws, but at least no one thought it was a bad choice.

Been going here for many years. I like the convenience and food. I have noticed a increase in the bill the last few times. My family of 5 used to eat for under $30 amd now its about $50. I will continue to eat here, but unfortunately we will have to have a sitter before we do. Unaffordable in my opinion of what it is. Being a buffet its more expensive than some of the other restaurants in town.

Context: I went on a Sunday evening. However, not much of the buffet was hot. And it looked like most of the dishes had been reheated. Some of it tasted that way too. Soups should NOT have a skin on their surface. I don't know what they're cleaning the tables with but the tops were sticky and gross. I'm not sure how they've achieved a 4 start rating. Staff was friendly and polite.

We used to go here quite often. I took my daughter there last night for her birthday and the food was terrible. Most if the food tasted old and like it has been reheated. The grilled food and vegetables that we had them grill was under done and had no flavot at all. Some of the food smelled like it has sat out for hours. We also felt that they were hoovering over us to often to take our plates when we were done with them. We left without hardly eating anything and we will not go back. It was the worse tasting food that we have had.

Used to be a booming place especially on Sundays. But something about most of their food causes bad stools after about 30 minutes. I have experienced this myself along with others that I know. Plus variety has decreased a lot. Soy products cause many people to have bad stools, and much of their food has soy sauce or worcestershire sauce in it. If this matters to you but you gotta go there, avoid anything in a brown sauce.

This place has been in business for at least 10 years now which is a BIG accomplishment for a Danville restaurant. They have a wide range of items, standard chinese buffet fare. Staff keeps their rotation on schedule to ensure food is always fresh. Fair prices. Dining area is large enough to accommodate larger parties.
