TL;DR great atmospheric & service. Get the calamari appetizer!!
Full Review:
So far I've come back to the Blackhawk grill since it's reopened. It's not without its charm, but the food quality is a step down from what it used to be. That's not to say it's bad but it fine. I enjoyed their strawberry lemonade and the calamari appetizer is so so good! Perfect sauce to go with it! The tri tip and old fashion cheese burger was ok. The fries with the burger were pretty good.

Having an afternoon lunch outside on a beautiful sunny afternoon couldn’t have been more pleasant. The outside garden atmosphere is wonderful. Had clam chowder and a Cesar salad, both to be recommended, as they are a meal by themselves as the servings were quite generous. Also, the fish and chips were different in their presentation and we couldn’t finish ‘em (take home for another meal) I love a great burger and this got a 9.

Blackhawk Grille Restaurant at Danville serves delicious American cuisine. We ordered Stella Artois, GLS Trinity Oaks Chard & Cab with Milk for the Kids for drinks. For the meal it was Pacific Salmon, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Kids Cheese Pizza, Chopped Salad and Beyond SouthWestern Burger. For Desserts it was Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Affogato and Bread Pudding. The dishes were well cooked and Fresh. Worth the value, enjoyed.

Always a delight to go and eat here! The food is fantastic and the view is gorgeous. Our service was once again wonderful with the exception of the bar that couldn't figure out how to make the same drink from one time to the next taste the same or use the right alcohol. Not sure if they were in training but they kept trying and would return with a new one and take away the messed up one. No harm. 👍 Everyone has to learn. The salmon I had was absolute perfection! We had about 30 people and not one complaint. That is amazing. Highly recommend.

The service and food here is amazing! They served me my Fettuccine del Mare and immediately asked if I needed salt or pepper. They also let my family sit near the water and allowed us to move the chairs since the table was originally for two. The Arnold Palmer (lemonade and iced tea) was very neat. Overall I love this place and highly recommend.

I've been to this restaurant a few times and have always been pleased with the service and food. So when my client asked me to find a restaurant for a bridal shower I thought of Blackhawk Grille right away. The Sales Manager Michael Roberts was very helpful, easy to work with and good with communication. On the day of the bridal shower the party was in a private room that over looked the waterfall. Our contact person was Brett and he was amazing and made sure my client and the rest of the guests were taken care of. My client was very pleased and thought the restaurant was wonderful and the service was amazing. I will continue to dine at this restaurant but I'm so excited to know that for private parties this will be a great go to. Thanks again to all the staff that helped. One more thing. Great ambiance and affordable.

When I had relatives or friends visiting, our first choice was the Grille at BlackHawk - not only because it's not far away from our home, but also because of its beautiful environment, good service and great quality of food. Steak and salmon were my favorites. My daughter loved their Bread pudding dessert. There were not many choices of desserts, no tiramisu - my son's favorite, had to eat ice cream instead. But overall, it's an awesome restaurant. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing every bite of my food was full of flavor and unforgettable. The staff was excellent and with the kitchen open to the customers we got to see Chef Ulises work his magic along with his amazing team. Thanks for the amazing dinner I can't wait to come back.

The food and service here are AMAZING! Most definitely would love to come back. They were very accommodating and can make the pasta pictured below vegan by using impossible sausage instead - it was bomb!
Their bloody Mary’s and French fries are also fantastic here.

By far amazing food in an amazing staff our waiter was a young a man who's very respectable and polite you felt welcome since the time you walked through the door very very good food fresh out of the garden vegetables in the ahi tuna was off the hook definitely critic and hard for me to give 5 Star but this place deserves it

Came for a quick lunch on a weekday. Nice ambiance. Very nice restaurant. Service was on point. Ordered a tri-tip sandwich w/salad instead of fries. Tri-tip was a bit chewy and overly sauced. Salad which I thought would be baby greens, but it was mostly finely chopped lettuce, left a lot to be desired. The cali caprese salad on the other hand was delicious and had a delightful balsamic and olive oil. Will be back to try other dishes.

Excellent service and food. We especially liked the bar area and bartender - he was personable and made sure we always had a drink. In the main dining room, the waitstaff are attentive, and the food is excellent and priced fairly. We'll definitely be back!!

Went for a nice Father’s Day brunch with my daughter and left stressed and $60 lighter..
Sat on patio, server let us sit for ten minutes before greeting(10!) Drinks were brought out after 29 minutes.
I guess there was a special menu for Father’s Day, and I wasn’t told about it.. then why have specials at ALL?!
Food arrived, eggs weren’t what I asked for, kids waffle was good. Waited for eggs at least ten minutes while my other food sat and got cold..
Server was slammed and it was very obvious. I was exhausted after eating here, so much was missed by the server and the restaurant as a whole.
Not many options in Blackhawk, now there is one less.

Amazing food and excellent service! We went during brunch, which I highly recommend. The Waygu steak and eggs were on point as well as the crab cake benedict and the pork belly BLT.

I was at the restaurant last night and ordered a BG Chop 2.0 salad. What I received was a pile of lettuce with very few other ingredients mixed in. There were so few bits of red bell pepper that I had to do some digging to find the first one. The bacon was nowhere to be seen. I don't know what happened. This place used to be one that I looked forward to eating at. The food was always good, the service was always good, and even though it's a bit more pricey I always felt there was value in the food. Now I feel like I was ripped off. The rest of my family ordered the Blackhawk Burger and were all similarly unimpressed. My husband didn't even finish half of his burger because it was so salty. What happened????

Blackhawk grille has been our go to restaurant for over 10 years. What is going on???
The menu has been cut so much it is hard to find anything to order. The food has gone way down hill and the service too. We have given it 3 tries over the last month and I must say, I'm done going. The salads have changed, the portions have changed, the options have changed and the service has changed...none for the better. It feels like they are trying to see how much they can cut and change and still stay in business. I am reluctant to take any of my friends there again. I think it's time for the management to change and get back to serving good food with good service.

Everything about our visit was perfect!! Our server was there but not in our faces and we all loved our food. I got the cheese fondue/beef tip appetizer with perfectly steamed brocolini and washed it down with Fieldwork and Altamont beers, both delicious. I can't wait to get some of my Great Balance Brewing Company beers into the Blackhawk Grille for all to enjoy!

We had our Mother's Day brunch buffet here this year and last year. Food is great and employees are nice and friendly. However, last year, we have to wait for our tables (reserved two months prior) for almost an hour. They did gave us complimentary champagne or mimosa while waiting, but it was a long wait. By the time we were seated some platters were empty or need refilling. This year we got seated on time, our server was great same as last year. However, food seemed to be a little different, they didn't have Caesar salad or choice of Caesar dressing. Their fruit platter was most of the times almost empty and very slow in refilling, dessert choices were limited or slow in getting them refilled. Our favorite last year was their Caesar salad and that's missing this year. The grilled food are always delicious, the grilled shrimp, burgers, steaks and breakfast food section. The salmon and grilled vegetables were great. The salad and fruit section were very slow in getting refills.

We took my family there last night for my birthday. We sat outside and watched the cute little ducklings swim around pond. The sound of the waterfall was so relaxing. I ordered a the Filet Mignon that was so tender and juicy. It had a delightful sauce and sat on a bed of roasted brussel sprouts. Our waitress was very kind and had our food out quickly. We were able to sit there, relax and enjoy our time there.

Just had the worst experience ever tonite. We were there for over 2 hours and waited 90 mins for our entrees only to have two and half of them delivered - all cold.
I took one fork of mine and sent it straight back. The other meal and half arrived 5-6 mins later.
My daughter ate hers bc she was so hungry and we had no idea if/when she would get a replacement meal!!
Asked to see the managers Andre and Megan multiple times and they refused to see us. Actually refused!! We are local clients that have been eating here for 12 years and if business is so good that they feel they don’t need to care about their clients then good for them.
