Little Yangon

Yummy in the tummy. Family run place that is great to take visiting friends who want something new that's not scenester crowds. I've never had a bad meal here, and someday I hope to have tried every single thing on the menu. Get a group and get the big round table in the back. It's one of my favorite places in SF.

This is a homey Burmese restaurant with a kitschy feel. The entrance faces busy street so you'll need to find parking nearby on one of the side street which won't always be easy. Inside there is a good amount of seating for a smallish establishment. The owners also do table service, they are soft-spoken and very nice and polite, though not very fast in movement. I would rate the dishes I tried to be a solid B all around... Not so good to be memorable, but nothing objectionable. Case in point is the tea leaf salad - a bit bland but overall fresh and tasty. The prices are rather cheap compared to other Burmese restaurants so the food feels well worth it. One thing to keep in mind is that their curry does not come with rice, you'll have to order it separately. This is a good spot for a simple lunch if you feel a craving for Burmese, but probably not a place you'd choose to celebrate an anniversary.
