$28 for fried chicken BREAST sandwich (which turned out to be frozen chicken tenders that you get from the grocery store) with fries and slaw, small hickory fry (which was very dry and the fries tasted old, I couldn’t even eat them) and an order of fried pickles. So not worth the money. Very nasty! Husband just threw up! Not to mention, was told it would be 25 minutes, I get there and the two ladies are bickering over a ticket # getting duplicated and the younger one says “I don’t even care anymore! I just want to go home but I can’t because of this!” Needless to say 25 minutes turned into an hour. NEVER AGAIN!

Don't listen to the haters. Usually Karens who do not understand a local business will complain. Always had a good experience here. Yeah your waiting for your food so what. They make to order. It's fresh and if you have any issues I'm sure if you act like a cordial human being you might get your problem fixed if any problem occurs. They are always kind here and I can't believe I haven't been coming here more often. I've lived here for 30yrs and man have I missed out! You don't see too many businesses like this around here. The burgers here are phenomenal! Give them a try!

Great BBQ with a cool atmosphere. The brisket plate was good, as was the pulled pork. Parking was easy in and out. Very clean and hospitable.

Merles burgers were so good that my eyes rolled a little after my 1st bite! They kind of floated around in my head as if to beg for me to take another bite. Why would anyone EVER have another fastfood burger after eating at Merles?

Love the atmosphere, nice getaway setting for a quick bite. However, seemed to rapidly diminish as soon walked up to order. The ribs weren’t to expectation, actually the beans and French fries made up for that. To top it off when going back to order another ice-tea with credit card in hand, only to make me feel that like I was in the wrong place. Two lunch plates for 45 dollars, the least a welcome would have been appropriate.

I have ordered from here several times, and my wife and I love their food. My wife always gets their brisket! The brisket has always come in nice slices as you can see by other peoples reviews. Tonight when I opened up the plate I thought I was given the wrong thing. When I took it inside they told me that it was the brisket, and that it is just so tender and hot that it's falling apart. It has never looked like this before for us, and based on other people's reviews with pictures, it hasn't for them either. It literally looks like they had what was left in a pan, and took a ladle to it, grease and all! It is all shredded pieces swimming in grease! Also, I don't recommend asking for fries for both of your sides! It appears tonight that they decided to give me the same amount that I get for a single order and just spread it between the two spaces. Usually I get fries and something else, but tonight we went with double fries..won't make that mistake again. Had this been our first time there I wouldn't know any better, but this is definitely not how it normally is served! It is also not nearly as much as they give normally for the price you pay..after driving the swimming pool of grease you can see what was left.

Good value here, lack of personality with some of the staff. Not a big fan of the burgers. The chili is not overcooked and bitter. It goes well with the hotdogs. Great place for a quick eat, low cost and tastes decent.

My first time there. I placed my order with a young lady at the counter. I ordered the chopped pork plate with sweet tea. The young lady was not rude per se, but there were no hellos nor thank yous given by her.
The ladies working the counter seemed overwhelmed by the number of customers (I would say probably three men ordering for their families). They were hollering out numbers and directives at each other. Anyway, when I received my order, I went and sat at a table. I am being careful not to exaggerate: The amount of pork on my plate wasn't enough to make a skimpy sandwich - I would say 3 ounces was given to me. The "stew" was in a very small styro-foam take-out container like one would use for a sauce or something like that. I received 9 cold crinkle-cut french fries. I had an ice tea that contained about 3% tea - that was poured in hot and melted the small amount of ice.
I don't understand how this place could stay in business all these years - I assume they once were good and in an area without many restaurants.
For nearly $14 for this order, I can't justify the prices nor the amounts of food given. Seriously, a 4 or 5 year old child would have eaten this amount of food. As a grown man who paid nearly $14 for this sub-par food, I can easily state that I will not make the mistake of stopping here again.
I understand that sometimes people are mad about a certain restaurant and sometimes over-complain about their experience. I purposely waited until the day after to post this critique. Everything I've stated is factual and not heat-of-the-moment whining.
