Review Lala's Mexican Cafe - Dallas

We were on the hunt for a Mexican food restaurant in the area of an event, and ran across this place thanks to a suggestion from Google Maps. We were looking for a reward meal to have for our date night, so when we pulled up and saw the sign on the window that said "Clean, Organic, non-gmo Mexican food" - we were both excited and a little hesitant. We are extremely picky when it comes to Mexican food taste - but, since we are on a clean eating nutrition plan anyways, this aligned perfectly with our goals. We immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and design concept of the restaurant when we walked in. We let the lady that was helping us know that it was our first time, and she was happy to give us some suggestions. We ordered, and when we got the food - boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The best description that I can give is "fresh". The ability to have organic and gluten-free ingredients and still keep the authentic Mexican food taste is not an easy task, and these guys pulled it off. From the delicious chips and salsa to the main entrée, the flavors were bold without being overwhelming. I think we found our new date night spot. Can't wait to go back!

This place has us coming back at least once a week. All I have to say is the GREEN SAUCE is so boss that my wife threatens to drink it. She has contemplated getting a job here just for the recipe. I stick with drinking the margaritas b/c they are as good as I have ever had. Zucchini wrapped enchiladas are on my death row menu. Run, don’t walk, to LALA’s!!!!

I went by today and they were closed! The message on the door said they were restructuring their concept. So sad! __________________________________ Wow is all I can say. I had their enchiladas and they are delicious. I opted for them to be wrapped in zucchini instead of a tortilla and was impressed! The brisket, shredded chicken and ground beef were delicious!!!!!! The ground beef is so well seasoned! I found my go to restaurant! My husband had their nachos and was also impressed. I love that it is clean, healthy food made from scratch and I can’t wait to go back!! I’ve also had their chicken soup and they are not stingy with their chicken! It was loaded. Loved it!

This place was very good. Tastes were amazing. Lots of very nutritious food. It was surprisingly slow, but was there a week day at 3 pm. Still - could not imagine this place without droves of people. Ceviche was just incredible. Bowl was perfectly delicious, balanced and V filling. Don't miss out on the hot sauce - it was fresh as can be. Tasted like ground up spicy peppers.

This place never fails when serving delicious, healthy vegan Mexican food. I think the flavors are on point (whether it’s a beautiful pairing like sweet potatoes and black bean flautas or a nice char on the tortilla). Prices are a bit high (which is why I gave it four stars) but it’s quality ingredients and locally owned. Great addition to the community.

6 Very plain tacos and two sodas for $35! A friend and I walked up to the register and asked for 3 tacos al pastor each with rice and beans assuming a chef could make that into a "meal" option on their own... our food was delivered to us and it was only the 3 tacos each. We asked where the rice and beans were and they said we didn't order any. My friend spoke up, stating that this is not worth $35. I stated that we had told the lady we wanted rice and beans with our tacos. The manager didn't hesitate to then bring us the rice and beans. We were grateful he didn't argue. The flavor of these tacos... lets just say this white girl (married to a Hispanic) has made better. The rice was also not cooked well.. kinda crunchy still. I have eaten here two other times. I had ordered "street tacos" which were way smaller than average street tacos. This meal at least tasted good but again that price tag!! So be prepared to spend and possibly not be wow'ed.

It was ok. I honestly don’t have much to say about it because it wasn’t a very memorable experience. Small portion sizes and lacked flavor of traditional Mexican dishes while being pretty expensive. I understand that they are trying to tap in on the healthy Mexican dishes which is why I am giving it 3 Stars. I really do believe they did the best they can with the limitations they created such as claiming to be gluten free. However, if I’m going to eat Mexican I want all the carbs, all the queso and all the gluten. It just was a miss for us and we will likely not be back. My boyfriend and I had the conversation that if everything else was closed in PC we would come here over a Whataburger/McDonald’s/other fast food chain but it would not be our first or top 5 choice in Preston Center.
